Greetings Ed,

I am sorry if this is a repeat.
Kagawa does not seem to be fitting into LVG's plans (I feel so, anyway). Is he going to be sold?

Thanks!

MUFCfanfromNepal

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any thoughts to sell him but if a suitable offer was made I am sure the clubs would consider it.}

"Kagawa did not wish to fulfil my wishes, my philosophy when I played him in the United States”

Looks like there is some beef.

2.) He'll get his chance as back up to Mata

3.) Yeah, sell him. i'm as man utd fan felt sorry for him. Very talented attacking midfield just sitting at the bench looks for games. We just wasted the talent. He deserved to play rather than Mr fellaini.

With everyone complaining (including me) as why is not LVG screaming instructions from the touchline, I am coming to think he is training the players' brains exactly as he said he would be doing. He probably wants the players to understand the game better and execute his instructions without him interfering directly. And, he explains them post-match what they didn't do and were supposed to do. Considering this theory is right, its pretty much a risk, but guess the team will gain at the end of his 3 months 'trial'. The players will have learnt applying his techniques in the game without him reminding them from the touchline every now and then. His career suggests he loves screams and tussle at the sidelines. So, there must be some reason behind that he sits the whole 90 minutes. Maybe that is the one. However, I could be stupid too. ha ha

MUFCfanfromNepal

1.) I would much rather have the manager barking instructions. Also, we need him or Giggs on the touchline to shout at the refs and the 4th official. We've had more bad decisions against us this season than I can ever recall. If LvG or Giiggs are on the touchline, then they can give the refs and linesmen a bit of earache.

2.) I agree nomidfield. I also think it will help the players as they can be guided as the game is going on, rather than making a mistake and then dreading the come back from the manager later. It will play on some of their minds and could lead to more mistakes and needless points being dropped.

I know I would be thinking "what will the gaffer think about this, should I be doing that or should I be doing this, I hope he didn't notice that", rather than being told there and then to adjust what I was doing - LVG is not helping his players if you ask me, especially as they are on this uphill learning course.

It's a tough love approach, but its foolish if you ask me. You need to be supporting the players and then driving things home after the game. Not stacking stuff up and hitting players like a bag of cement with things they hadn't even considered they may be doing wrong.

Its good someone brought this topic up. I personally don't really care when people say how they 'enjoy more' or have 'greater' passion for Man Utd because they are locals. Its only natural for them to say so. I might have been arguing from the other side if I was a local lad. I just love United and do it passionately enough for me to enjoy it so much that I am saving to make a trip to OT. Yes, a trip to OT would be the most sensational experience in my life and I am jealous of you guys who go there everyday to cheer the team. If it was possible, I would have been there already by now. But, you shouldn't forget what makes United great is how globally it is loved. Sorry to say, but you boast to your local City rivals (and we boast to our rival fans here everyday) about the greatness of United out of its achievements, its footballing history and more importantly how big the club is globally and how it has a widespread passionate fan following. United is the biggest club because of its achievements, the great players and its global support. Would it have been possible if we, from this side of the world, didn't follow the club passionately enough? We have communities all over the world. We have club unions. We gather in pubs to watch matches together and take part in banter. It goes to extents of being involved in fist-fights out of the rivalry even though that is a stupid thing to do. Yes, you are blessed with the privilege of living there and enjoying the natural atmosphere every week, and have different experiences to us. But, that does not, in my opinion, compare the passions between supporter from Manchester and those outside of it.

MUFCfanfromNepal

1.) Good to hear your view and I agree. hope you can get to visit our great club and see them in action live soon!

2.) My sentiments exactly mate. Us fans from across the ocean are just as passionate about the club. We are part of the reason why the club is a global monster. Obviously I can't know some things, like the rivalry with say, Leeds fans. But I hate Liverpool with just as much passion as any other fan from Manchester. I watch games at a Utd only pub, go to great lengths to acquire authentic Utd merchandise. Without the global fans Utd wouldn't be as great, and same goes for Liverpool, Madrid etc

3.) I don't buy into this you have to live there to experience it. I don't live there but I am as big a fan as anyone. Just because you are from somewhere doesn't even mean you necessarily have an affiliation with your local side.

4.) Agree qith Fresh, roesnt matter where you from you are as hardcore supporter as ther person living in Manchester.

5.) As the great Mancunian Ian Brown once stated.
"Its not where your from, its where your at"

Regarding all these discussion going on about Welbeck.

Welbeck was never a natural striker. Instincts and reflexes are ought to be natural in oneself. You can develop it, but only to a reasonable extent. He finishes lordly at times, but then misses sitters most of the times. That costs at this level. United can't afford that anymore. Maybe Arsenal can? They don't care about winning trophies anyways. Its absolutely nuts to prefer him over Rooney/RVP. Rooney seems to have caught his form slowly due to class players around him, and RVP will catch up soon. I guess this argument will have vaporized by then. Oh yeah. Falcao! :D

Di Maria! What a player we have with us! Mouthwatering attack at our disposal. Hoping Van Gaal trains our defenders and mould them to be a force. Its then a dream team in the making.

How good is Daley Blind really? Got to see some good passing range in the world cup. Has anyone watched him in Ajax? You can never judge from video highlights, but I couldn't notice anything 'brilliant'. I know we need someone who can do the job, doesn't need to a flashy performer, but how much is he really going to improve us? Guess we will find out soon.
Can't wait for the next game. It will be a completely different line-up.

He played well for Netherlands yesterday. doesn't gives away the ball and alwys looks to pass the ball forward. Defensively he is better then fletcher and carrick I guess and will do a good job alongside herrera and Di maria.

2.) That's all we'd ask from him! Hope he can be THAT GUY for us.

3.) Personally I think he just looks like a steady eddy. He really lacks pace, which isn't a problem when we have the ball, but a major problem when we don't. I remember numerous teams running past our midfield like we were stuck in treacle last season, he isn't going to change that for me. During the World Cup this was something I noticed about him, how easy it was for players to glide past him.

However he is intelligent, can play in multiple positions, so is a good acquisition, just not the world class midfielder we need obviously. As a LWB I have concerns about how much of an attacking threat he will be due to this pace issue as well. Hopefully Shaw will keep fit, so he sticks to playing DM.

4.) He played lwb last night and had a v good game

5.) Steady player with a good range of passing. Pretty tidy on the ball and will more than likely look for others like Mata, Rooney, Januzaj etc to make the more adventurous balls. He will no doubt sit in front of the defense and help clean up.

6.) Has more pace than Fletcher altough not a lot better passing range but we do have Di Maria Herrera and Januzai with pace so more intelligent than fast is better

7.) It is hard to say until we have seen him in the LVG set up. What we know is that he will do a good job however he is deployed.
Assuming we have a LWB available I think he will be played as the defensive midfielder (no matter what system), from what I have seen he is a good reader of the game, strong in the tackle, comfortable on the ball and a very good passer. He will happily sit and allow the more advanced players to push forward. He will allow the team the flexibility to also play 4 at the back and slip in with the CB's to make a 3 if the full backs are pushing forward.
All in all I am quite positive about Blind. . let's hope it is not 'Blind positivity'!

8.) I have not seen enough of him but from what I have seen is he is very tidy and cool when in possession and does not do anything stupid. He has a very good cross with some great whip on it.

If valencia is good enough to play down the right this boy is plenty good enough to play down the left. At least we will see a measured cross for a change.

Di Maria signing would lift United to another level. He will excite everyone. But its all pure speculation until now. I hope this is not Thiago part 2.

Great post. I would always wonder the same. Every other player who moves from England to some other league comments on how tactical the game is every minute. No wonder, PL clubs get found out in the UCL.

LVG sees Januzaj as a #10 and even Januzaj fancies that position for his future. Its already congested as of now. Januzaj will be getting more game time as a winger in a 4-3-3 according to LVG. Now, why would we want another winger as we have Di Maria and Januzaj to fill in there. I can't fathom any more suffocation for space for that boy.
One CB, RB and CM would do it for me to get the balance right. Rafael is such a liability and has cost us games even though he is pretty good going forward. I can't see it changing considering the fact Clattenberg bought into the dive for that penalty.

With all due respect, its a stupid idea to move Januzaj down the pecking order by bringing Ronaldo for that crazy money and few years. Developing Januzaj will give us a star for the next ten years. And then there is something called team balance. With half that money, we could sign a world beater defender and a midfielder which will give our team the perfect balance.
I completely agree with AJH. Spot on.
I would vote NO to Ronaldo, hands down.

Haha exactly mate! I really can't figure out how the perception of United players suddenly goes from "average, over-rated" to "great" after they leave us and join other teams. Suddenly, Hernandez is so good that Benzema's place is threatened. LOL
And, Welbeck is their next Henry.
Nani's penalty miss in his first game for Lisbon makes no story.
Cleverley is going to be back to his brilliant best (I wish that he does) after leaving us.
They substitute their jealousy with hatred and they ignore it as if they don't know about it.
