Ed's

Can you tell me when your ebargo is likley to pass?

I hate the fact the WUM's have driven you guys away. Although I may not post often (in fact may have been a good 6 months since my last) I read the site everyday.

Your input has always been welcome and often requested by many on here.

Since you stopped replying and providing info the page has definately gone downhill. Posts are few and far between and I find myself double checking the last updated time stamp to confirm i'm not losing the plot.

On to a rumour I have been fed.

Moyes is to announce at least 1 signing before the start of the tour. It's expected to be Thiago but again this is only hear say that I have been fed from a mate who's brother works at carrington.

Fergie maybe gone but we are just as bloody tight lipped as always. ; - ) {Ed007's Note - I had a few days off last week and now Ed004 is away on holiday. Ed002 is very, very busy elsewhere. I'm sure she will be back as soon as time allows. Just don't be moaning at me because I don't know have the same knowledge as Ed002.
You never know, it might even encourage people to use the improved search function rather than bombard us Eds with the same question over and over again.
As you guys all know we rarely make any money from theses sites (that is 100% truthful, remember we had PayPal buttons because things were that bad financially) and are lucky to cover the running costs most months. We do these sites for our love of the game and our individual clubs and will always do our utmost to keep them free to use.
We don't hit-whore, making up crazy stories just to attract traffic, if we have any info we are quite happy to share it but if it isn't what you want to hear or you don't agree with an Eds opinion there is no need to abuse us, the level of abuse aimed at Ed002 was nothing short of vile and disgusting, I actually wanted to get the police involved.
You get a good debate on here and some decent banter so let's not waste it. My pet hate is anonymous posts that start "I think...." if you don't have a name nobody cares what you think, most anonymous posts I just delete anyway, 99% of them are garbage.
So the next person that mentions an Eds 'strike' or embargo is going to get a swift cyber-boot to the Haw-Maws. Lets get back to the football......

Monk

1.) So - does that mean you have embargoed the embargo? Lol

2.) Ed007. How do I use the search function? It doen't seem to be at the top of the page anymore.

Thanks in advance. {Ed007's Note - Sorry Thomas, there is an improved search engine been developed, it just hasn't been implemented on all the sites yet. It will be a.s.a.p.}

3.) 08 Jul 2013 17:07:03
Ed007 - that is the most sensible thing I think i've ever seen on here.

I've no idea who was abusing Ed002 but if it really was that bad then they have all my support for doing what they did, along with all the other Ed's

Perhaps, as others suggest, making login's a requirement will help a little with a 3-strikes rule for those that get out of line

All of the regulars here, and some of us (Myself included) that are more casual users do appreciate the hard work you all put in.

Now, as you said. back to the football people! {Ed007's Note - Thanks.}

4.) Well said Ed007

Stew4d

5.) I have found myself hooked on this site since midway through last season. It stands out from all the other sites simply for the Ed's. The replies are always thought out and bring us optimistic fans back to reality checks and point out key points. I check the site Several times a day and have really been missing the Ed input. So nice to see an Ed :) Like Ed007 points out. they don't sell us stories just so we come on. they infact look to rubbish stupid claims. Much Love

6.) Ed007, Thanks for the clarification, no one should suffer abuse for contributing in any way to this site. I do think a published Code of Behaviour would help and any inappropriate posts would not be published. Serial offenders should be automatically banned. I'm sure the vast majority would support such a move. {Ed007's Note - That's maybe something we could look at.}

7.) Well said

Reddevilbrennan

8.) I along with most others respect and appreciate the time and effort the eds all go to to make this site what it is. Yes, I was unhappy that you took the stance you have but I hold my hands up and apologise. I was maybe too naive as to the extent of the severity. I wish you all well and again must say thank you to all the effort you do to for this site. It just goes to show that without all you eds the site would be nothing! :-)

Adz {Ed007's Note - Cheers Adz.}

9.) To the eds I thank you for the time you take to do this site. I love reading from the regulars and the eds, I don't have any inside info but I love checking this site, easy best MU site around! So I would love for there to be a login or something to keep the united fans to this page only, any crap then Peeps are gone. A big thank you again and I'm sure the regulars feel the same way.

BowlDonBowl

10.) The best thing is, is that it shows how much we take the eds work for granted. It's like its routine and expected. Now we all can see what they all bring to the site. Everyone contributes and it's admirable. The Eds bring that littl bit more though and I'm sure when all are back then they will all be respected that litte bit more!

Adz

11.) Ed007, I'd be happy to help with a draft code of conduct if that would help. {Ed007's Note - I wrote a code of conduct for new Eds, we could probably trim that down if we wanted to, thanks for the offer.}

12.) I have been absolutely addicted to this site since last summer. The Eds do an amazing job and any abuse given is totally wrong. This site wouldn't be half as good if you guys weren't here to answer questions and offer opinion. Bring in a login only application for posters, and then ban posters who break the rules/are abusive ect. Would solve a lot of this. Thanks Eds for all the work you put in!

HinkseyRed

13.) 007 - that response has made me decide to properly register on the site. I don't post all that often but I read the site every day and have done for 3 or 4 years now. The "strike" has made the site a lot less enjoyable so I've registered as a small gesture of my appreciation for ALL you eds. Keep up the brilliant work.

Jaxer {Ed007's Note - :-)

14.) 10 Jul 2013 08:40:58
Fair play bond. well said mate.
People either want to be on here or they dont. if you don't then go away and don't ruin it for those of us who love the page.

Keep up the good work mate. your replies are legendary. and that's praise indeed from a sarcastic Irish person

Hi All

Just thought i'd air my thoughts

Herrera - Should have been signed even if the final bill was more than expected -

Reason: We had plenty of time to find out prior to making the lad tell Bilbao he wanted out and Agreed the contract with us to find out what the final cost would be. If we left it that late in the day ethically we should have bit the bullet.

It's plain wrong what we have done to the lad full stop.

Contreao (spelling) - Real pulled the plug as they failed to bring in the replacement they wanted.

As for the rest of the transfer window debarcle? Woodward is clearly not cut out for player purchasing full stop. He should stick to sponsorship.

Onto Fellaini - He'll be better than most people seem to believe - marquee signing he is not but needed? definately.

****** YOUTH PLAYERS ******

All us fans brag about how good our youth is and whine about them not getting the chance to break into the first team. Well guess what?

This year they will be given the chance as we are going to need them if we want to atleast put up a fight on all fronts.

I fully expect to see Zaha get time along with Jany and expect to see fabio getting game time.

Kagawa has to be played and played in his preferred position - they guy was declared something special by italy's coach when he ran riot against italy.

How he cannot be given the role he is perfect for is beyond me.

****

As for the season ahead will we win? Maybe not but we are sure going to make it as difficult as possible for anyone who wants to try and take our crown.

As a red through and through I expect the best from our club, our players and most of all our fans! But I will never withdraw my support of the team.

Whinge about signings and tactics all you want but always support the lads on match day.

They need our support not our abuse. It can be the difference between winning and losing!

Come rain or shine we will continue to demand the best from our players and expect the best support from our fans. If you cannot support the lads on match day then you are not worthy to call yourself a RED.

Last note:

KEEP YOUR HEADS UP!

after all We are not just a club with a largest fan base in the world we are MANCHESTER UNITED and we are FOREVER!

Monk

1.) Monk so far Januzaj and Lingard have failed to even make it to the bench and Zaha has been on the bench for one game.

Moyes was reluctant to give chance to Barkley whereas Martinez has been starting him in all games.

I personally think Moyes is a low-risk manager and will not take a bold decision of playing Januzaj and Zaha too often. Hoping I am wrong.

Not so much a rumour more of a double question. lol

Does anyone know what happened to the user PERCY?

Not seen any posts from him for along while.

Also do any of the ED's know what the current Avaliability is of Iker Munian and if he is a potential target?

Cheers in advance

Monk

1.) Yeah he has been training hard trying to make sure he gets the new contract he wants ;)

2.) I read on here that he is in Turin ;-)

******WAYNE ROONEY*******

Can we all put this to rest until he actually opens his mouth or we do.

The guy hasn't said he wants to move - we haven't said he's for sale.

No one is saying anything one way or another.

Speculation causes nothing but grief.

At the risk of sounding Rafaesque - let's deal with facts only.

He had an of season (in comparison to earlier seasons)- Fact

Fergie claimed the boy has requested to leave - fergie said this so it's a fact (not that wayne actually made the request formally)

He's not said he wants to leave (this time round) - Fact

He's not said he wants to join Chelsea - Fact

He's not match fit - Fact (both moyes and hodgson are reported to have said this)

Lets just stop with the Rooney crap and wait for some actual statement for either Wayne or Us.

Monk

1.) Well he's set to play against Scotland tonight whether he starts or comes on as a sub. Will be interesting to see if he plays the Swansea game for us if he plays tonight because then there will be no reason not to.

Ozwald

2.) To be fair Monk.

He hasn't said he's happy and staying either. There is always three sides to every story, Rooneys, United's and the truth - what has went on the last couple of months no one outside will ever know, but you are saying he hasn't said he wants to leave - this is the biggest sports story this summer - if there is nothing to it why hasn't Rooney come out and say 'All this paper talk is completely rubbish, I am staying and happy at united'

3.) Oz

Couldn't agree more.

Though chances are they could claim he aggrevated his shoulder if we don't play him.?.

Conspiracies will always exist but I will reserve judgement on Wayne until a formal statement of intent is made.

He's been good for us and he has taken a lot of flak for his last contract debarcle (which I still have reservations about it all being his doing - another conspiracy about fergie trying to get funding)

Lets just wait for some real information - not that we really have a choice.

4.) I agree Monk, there is so much nonsense that we should just wait and see how it pans out.

I'd like a pint of what Moon has been drinking having read his scenario further down the page.

5.) Whats the bet that Rooney picks up a phantom injury tonight and will be out of squad for weekend?

not rumour but a question for all.

Fabregas or Mata?

I vote Mata a year young and was excellent last season.

Monk

1.) Fagragas every time. Have you seen our midfield?

2.) Fabregas. Although Mata is just as good and had a better last couple of seasons, Fabregas is more versatile and can play anywhere in midfield. We'd be guetting a Paul Scholes and a Wayne Rooney replacement in 1 player.

Mick

Thought i'd stick my 2p worth in,

Fellaini aka "The Wig" is one of those players who stand out in a standard team - The question we all need to ask is. Is he one of the stand out player who when surrounded by a higher quality of player grow in ability or shy off into obscurity?

Fellaini blows hot and cold for me but the one thing I suspect he'll do if surrounded by better players is step up to the mark.

He was asked to do a different role last year in which he frankly did a brilliant job.

He just doesn't seem a player who is shy about stepping up and being accounted for.

He'll be a good-great signing so long as he holds his own and takes note of the quality players around him.

Ok

Reject first offer is standard practise these days but let's not get stupid here.

If chelsea come abck with £15 mil and Mata it is worth considering if they come back with £20 mil and mata then back baldy's bags for him and farm him off.

The only question is. Do we need Mata? Yes we need a midfielder but we don't yet know for certain who our targets are and the likely hood of them joining. Do we someone lese lined up that we need the cash for instead?

Fabregas vs Mata? Both excellent players, goal scorers and prem experienced. wages? Mata will want less than fabregas for sure.

In all honesty i'd take Mata.

Moon

You should write a book with that imagination of yours.Epic absolutely epic.

I would absolutely love for this to more than mear fantasy I really would. I would litterally be over th moon (pardon the pun)

We'd still need a midfielder like fellaini but other than that we'd practically walk the league and the champions league final is a likely destination.

USW

I think it'll be something to do with the clause I have heard about where he has his wages increased to continue to be the highest paid player at OT.

If we were to be bringing Ronaldo back then surely Ronaldo would be on a higher wage than him therefore increasing his wage automatically.

We maybe trying too remove the clause in the negociation.
