Good Evening all.
Interested to know Utd fans thoughts regarding Rodgers taking over from Ole. IF rumours are true that he's considered.
Just cause the big stink around Rafa taking over at Everton. The noise about him being a previous LFC manager. Even though Rafa has a CV full of top trophies and having genuine huge love for the area. Many EFC fans hated the idea. Season tickets burned. Etc.
I'm not getting this vibe around Rodgers. But what do you guys actually think if it happened? Is he going to fully open armed accepted? Curious his past has been as noted as Rafas.

I wpuld be gutted. I don't buy into the Rodgers myth. Glenn Johnson said he was just a Jose clone wothout the success. He had heard all his team talks before from jose. He ballsed it up with sterling and that envelope crap is one of the most embarassing stories I've ever heard. Anyone can win trophoes at euro disney up north but he also has the same amount of trophies as roberto martinez in England . Can't think of one player he has genuinely improved in his career and I think bollocks rolls off his toungue. Chuck in the Liverpool connection and I'd rather Big Sam. I'd be gutted.

Grobs, I think opinion amoungst United fans will vary quite a lot. Some like Jamesmack really don't like him, others like Ken would be happy to see him take charge.

Rafa taking over Everton is a slightly different situation I feel. Rafa won things at Liverpool and Evertonians have always struggled being in Liverpool's shadow and have an inferiority complex.

Rodgers won nothing with Liverpool, so he didn't stick a dagger in our hearts by lifting a trophy with the enemy like Rafa did.

Yet it hasn't taken long for the Toffees to start to take a shine to Rafa. If Rodgers came in and won a trophy I doubt even those who don't want him will smile and enjoy it through gritted teeth, but actually be happy.

Sir Matt Busby is probably the most important manager in our history even if Sir Alex has become the most successful. Busby played for both Liverpool and Manchester City as a player. Yet United fans accept him and are proud of his legacy at our club.

Whether Rodgers would be accepted by United fans almost certainly depends on how successful he is if he gets the job.

Good Evening
Ok, I'm a Liverpool fan. Have been for over 35yrs. But I'm also very much a football fan. So I genuinely come here in peace, just wanting to share a thought.

I respect UTD. I've hated you guys of course but total respect for your achievements.

My post is following from reading about getting Ole out before Spurs or give him that and if you guys lose then the sack etc.

But for me at this stage, I'd feel a snookered. I'd have to give him until after the City game. If you're talking long haul and basically expect to lose one or both games would it make sense to put someone in regardless their background and the first game or first two are probably resulting in loses? Doesn't that just start everything with a complete downer?

For me you have to accept a couple more weeks of Ole. Sort out the house during international break and just accept two league defeats. Anything else awesome. But the result if it means Ole out and new guy gets a better opportunity to start then that's the path.

Grobs, Ole looks to have lost the dressing room.
There are lots of leaks coming out from dressing room about broken promises on playing time, lack of tactical instruction etc, .

Before we become a laughing stock, get Conte in who is interested in the job.

It’s happening - the momentum is gathering and he’ll be gone sooner rather than later. Biggest challenge is deciding who gets the gig. We all have different views and opinions - maybe because there isn’t an obvious candidate.

players tend to step up when a new manager comes in. what a perfect time to get someone new in coming up to the city game.

ole plays the same 11 regardless of form and results. no wonder players like vdb, lingard bailly and others are p. ed when there watching the team week in week out perform like Sunday league players

we will get beat by spurs because he will put the same team or core of the team out.

only player that should start from the last game is de gea all the rest can be changed but ole hasn't the balls

we can say conte will just be like jose but he won't take no crap and players walking around ole is to soft and he has taken the team as far as he can.

That thing there you mention about Jose and not taking crap from players. IMO isn’t that always his downfall? Falls out with one of the previous stars. Treats them like turd and within months he’s gone and that certain player performs? No?

Just interested in how you can compare and usually compare to Liverpool pre Rodgers? Just how exactly? Cause GH won a cup treble and others. RB won the CL and other trophies won. No league correct. But wow to compare to CL winners. Bemused.
