Just to build on SUPASUB's refreshing post and thread below, what would you guys say is the best football you've ever kicked.
Nike: Seitiro, T90 aerow, Geo Merlin V1, Flight etc
Adidas: Tango, Teamgeist, Tricolore, Fevernova, Finale, Telstar, Context etc
Others like mitre, Umbro neo, Molten.
Personally I always liked Mitre Ultimax.

I grew up playing football late 70's/ 80's so any ball that was not a mitre multiplex gets my vote. That thing used to shake your skull when heading it was that hard. Adidas tango was good and balls were a lot better near the end of my career. any decent ball nowadays feels really light to me and so much better for the players health.

I had a Mitre in the early to mid 90’s which changed colour in cold weather, so it was white in ordinary weather but when it got cold and frosty/ snowy it turned pink.

That was a great ball. A little heavy but went exactly where you wanted it to unlike a lot of balls that float all over the place. It wasn’t cheap but definitely worth the money.

Not great on the head looking back I guess.

I grew up with the old style lace up leather ball and boots with nailed in studs so pretty much as soon as synthetic was available every development was my favourite ?.

Fizz that's proper old school. I remember my dad telling me about nailed in studs when he used to play.

Agree mitre multiplex I grew up with too was not good. Adidas Tango replica was probably the best I owned. I think the real official ome was even better.

I always loved the weight and feel of the Adidas finale. Plenty of cushioning but not too much and didn't swerve in the wind but curled when needed. I also loved the old school laced bladder. They were proper leather balls with hand stitched sections and if it burst, you could replace the rubber, woopie cushion esc bladder.

Those Mitre balls were so heavy, if they hit you, you dropped faster than the UK economy.
Although not great quality, we only had those cheap market footballs, those that after a kick around developed a bulge, then you saw skill.

Best ball I’ve ever played with was the Jabulani. A mate purchased a legit one a few years back for a hell of a lot of money (or so he says) and it was amazing to strike.

Not the best, any one old enough to remember the Mouldmaster, like playing with a cannon ball.

Davy1951 I think I vaguely remember the mould master, was it plastic like a basketball?

Sorry I didn't read all the posts, before posting. I think the mouldmaster was made by Mitre. Also played with the lace up bladdered ball, break out the Dubbin. I also used boots the nailed in leather studs and reinforced toe caps. these were probably hand me downs. My first molded sole soccer boot was made by Tuf, the same folks that made work boots.

An adidas tango is the equivalent of the titliest pro v1x in golf.

Jeez

When I started playing the ball had laces and when wet was so heavy it seriously hurt if trying to head it. Bloody avoided it. Boots, hell you lot are lucky discussing niceties, I played rugby and football in the same ones and they had steel in the toe caps so you could toe bung it. I took goal kicks for the goal keeper to get the ball about half way to the half way line because I could kick it further than him.
Carry on discussing nice boots and balls. My nicest boots had blades and the newer ball went miles when I kicked it. One time I volleyed a goal kick back from the half way line and missed the top corner by inches. Couldn’t tell you the type of ball, just it was round, didn’t hurt, went a long way when I kicked it and could be headed. Oh and all the balls stayed close to my feet when I ran with it, often past the opposition.

Best boots for me were: Puma Kings, Umbro Specialis, R9 Nike Mecurials and the Daddys were Addidas Predators. Burnt my F50s. Shower of rubbish.
