Good performance that, some exciting youngsters, mainoo Emeran Fernandez. Let's see how they progress over pre season and who knows they might get a chance or two this season. Mainoo looks a talent for sure. Mount settling in well also and good to see Martinez back and none the worse after his injury. Good to beat Leeds no matter who or where it is ?.

Was fantastic to see an actual striker in the 2nd half and it made the difference. Good half for Hannibal too who seems to have dropped off a little lately.

i wrongly thought Hugill had moved on - he arrived with a huge reputation as a goal scorer and started knocking them in when he first came - hope he can kick on now.

Tim just read a story that indicated Diallo played extremely well and stood out.

Would like to hear your report.

My thoughts on the game.

Kobbie Mainoo I thought he was excellent, strong, composed, good defensively but his pass selection was great. Played like a player 3-4 years his senior. Especially as for much of his time he played as a single pivot.

Amad Diallo was very good. Probably our best attacker, constantly looking to go forward and ask questions of the Leeds defence.

Mason Mount looked like he'll take to United like a duck to water. I think if we can get the other parts that EtH wants then he could play a key role for us.

Alvaro Fernandez was exciting. He absolutely has to go out on loan again this season as he has something that makes me feel he could be good enough. But he needs minutes which he won't get with Shaw and Malacia ahead of him.

Obviously it's just pre-season, but it's always nice to beat Leeds. This was a chance for a few lads to stake a claim. I think a few have. It'll be interesting to see how they do when there are more first team players in the squad.

I missed some of it, but I thought Hannibal looked good too.

I think he could step up as understudy to Mount this season.

Kovar deserves a shout out. Looked accomplished. Claimed some good catches, good with the ball at his feet. Problem is would he be happy as a number 2?!

Alvaro Fernandez looked good. Needs a loan at a top end Championship club ie Norwich, Southampton.

Mainoo could be seriously SERIOUSLY good. A far better footballer than Fred or McTominay. Should be looking at moulding him into Casemiro’s mentee and eventual replacement.

Amad Diallo is a billion times better than the likes of Elanga, whose days at OT are surely over.

Savage, Hugill, Emeran, Gore all looked promising - need a Peterborough/ Bolton loan.

Replying to earlier post, diallo looked sharp he showed his pace and quick feet and he looks comfortable on the ball. He dealt with the physicality well, playing in the championship clearly helped him. His link up was good however the only issue and it’s the same with Anthony that they always have to come inside onto their left and that’s where the traffic is. Will be interesting to see his minutes in preseason and it eth wants to keep him. I probably would as a Antony alternative.

Downsie

I flagged Alvaro a couple of weeks ago, he won Preston’s young player of the season. He needs more than another loan in the Championship if we want him to develop, if he wants to be challenged.

Morning chaps, been a while since I posted and hopefully this gets through.

Mainoo and Fernandez looked great yesterday, the standout players for me. Of course it’s only a friendly and we’ve seen Jesse Lingard consistently light up pre-seasons (he’s begging to go to Saudi now) .

These kids need more game time at a higher level this season, to begin on that upward trajectory of development. We’ll know a lot more about some of them this time next year. We should see more of them in the coming fixtures, as the first framers gradually return.

Mount is an ETH signing through and through. You only have to look at Chelsea fans reaction before and after the transfer to see how important he is.

I’m not really sure why some fans have been underwhelmed with the signing. For me he’s an excellent addition. Yes we need a striker etc, but the deal was right in front of us and we had to get it done. I’m looking forward to seeing him in a United shirt this season.

Not sure that's really a problem Tim. Most of our attacking players tend to drift a little onto the left side by preference, so there's more space for a winger cutting in from the right. I think Diallo will do well as understudy to Antony.

Be nice to see hugill develop. There's a good opportunity for him there due to lack of options. So if he's as good as his youth record suggests, he needs to grab this chance.

Hannibal Mejbri was the pick of the bunch for me in first half.
He covered so much ground, made a last ditch goal saving tackle and almost assisted twice.

Mainoo is almost ready, I think he will be the one brought into the first team this year like Garnacho was last year. Every time I see him I’m impressed.

I thought Amad played ok, looks like the loan has helped him but I’m still not totally convinced, see how that goes over the pre season games and if he continues to improve as he gets fitter.

Mount is a good signing, if he was called Mountaldinho people would be raving about it, he’s not a fancy name but we spent years buying fancy names who didn’t fit the plan, he fits perfectly into the team.

I also thought Kovar looked assured, really good with his feet, won the league with Sparta Prague last year so he’s played a lot of men’s football, not sure we need to sign a cheap sub keeper although it depends if he would be ok fighting for a spot.
