Ángel Di María has decided he wants to play for Manchester United after Cristiano Ronaldo has told him it is the club to go to. The deal will be finalised at the start of next week and he will be given the Number 7 shirt. (Guillem Balague )

Manchester United midfielder Anderson's move to Fiorentina appears to be getting closer, with Sky Sport Italia reporting a deal has been agreed between the two clubs. Anderson will initially join on loan, with Fiorentina having the option to sign the Brazilian permanently for €6.5m (£5.4m). The deal could be concluded within the next 48 hours.
Hopefully there's no kfcs over there!

No need for that. Good luck Anderson. Still better than Fabregas.

"Reports in Italy claim that Paris Saint Germain, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are leading the chase for Paul Pogba. Juventus are desperate to persuade him to sign a new deal, but if he refuses they could sell with a €70million valuation being quoted."

Why oh why could we not have just offered him the 40k a week!

Sulei

1.) He would have refused it like he refused the other offers.

Pogba and his agent will base his career on money and money only.

He will keep going club to club accepting the highest offers.

Like the editor has repeatedly said, he was never going to sign with us

2.) We would just be in the same situation as Juve find themselves now. Pogba will follow the example set by Ibrahimovic and Balotelli, where every 3/4 years he'll move on to a new club for more wages and more importantly so his agent can earn a huge fee. And guess what they all have the same agent. Mino Raiola.

3.) Never ever worth £70m, he was a mercenary and not worth the bother.

4.) As I recall, the issue was playing time. He was never given a chance, even though he showed at juve that he is not only good enough for a place in the squad, but better than anyone else we have to partner Carrick. He didn't get that good over that summer, so had he been given a chance, he would have been a regular starter here.

Wanting to leave Juve is reasonable for a kid that good, he could be playing at one of the very top teams, which they are not.

Where do people get the idea it's all about the money?

5.) So so so naive!

6.) The truth is that he is an amazing player.

Most of United fans are pi***d because he decided to leave. If he goes to Madrid, he'll be even better playing alongside CR7.

I wish in all the luck.

7.) That's not naive Sydney. I never said money wasn't a factor, but it's not hard to see how a kid that good would get frustrated at not even getting a chance, while players like Anderson and Cleverly played.

8.) Agreed Thorne
He said he knew it was time to leave when we picked park and raf the silva in the middle against Blackburn.

If that was you and you knew you could do better beb a chance you would be furious. Why the hell would he sign after that
On the other hand he is one of those players that I personally don't think would fit in a team like ours (his
Mentality)

9.) It beggars beyond belief that we wouldn't offer Pogba 40k a week hen Ashley Young is on 130k a week.

{Ed002's Note - It was nothing to do with that.}

10.) As Ed002 would say, RTP! I think it's been established by the Eds that his agent was always looking for a way out for him even at an early stage.

No point banging on about it now, let's hope we find somewhere better who actually wants to play for the club.

11.) Syd in this case I think your being Naïve.

We let arguably one of the best midfielders of his generation leave on a free. He won the FA youth cup with us and I believe had we actually given him game time he would have stayed.

Yes its about money of course it is its a business football. All this wants to play for the club B******s. People want to play for your club if you pay them well and they are successful!

Had we offered him the 40K and played him when he was patenty ready and better than nearly everyone we were playing I am pretty sure he would have signe a new contract.

I notice you don't call Januzaj a money grabber etc. Had we not payed him the 40k and started playing him this year do you think he would happily sit in the youth team knowing he was better than half the player we had.

This I the one good think Moyes has done this year.

Fergie ballsed up and as usual with him though he is a United legend he will never accept any criticism.

Massive mistake!

12.) Thorne, the truth is Pogba was looking for a move 12 month's before he moved to Juventus. Money is the only factor when you employ Mino Raiola as your agent. Pogba also told Paddy Crerand that he left for money. He said it wasn't just him he needed to think about, he has a large family to support.

Do not think I am being bitter Thorney lad, I said when he was a MU player that he will be the best midfielder in the world and I said the same thing when he left. I was proper gutted when he left as he was just what we needed. But his whole career will be based on money as the main factor.

13.) Red Bear, Januzaj is not on half of that amount. It doesn't matter what we paid Pogba or how much playing time he got, he was always leaving. That has been made very clear to us by the editor.

14.) So your saying it was money Sydney well if we offered enough he would of stayed no way Juv pay more than we can so we should of pushed the boat out

15.) Kate, think about it wisely. Why would he accept £20k, £25k or even £40k from us and be tied down to a five year deal when he could join Juventus, collect a significant signing on fee, stay for 1-2 years then join another club for £150k-£200k a week, plus negotiating his own image rights (ridiculous amounts of cash) and get a monster signing on fee from his new club. It wasn't about getting an extra £15k a week at Juve or more playing time as he was going to be playing for us if he stayed, it was about the significant amounts of cash he could get in the future, cash he wouldn't get at MU. Mino Raiola needed to steer him away from MU so advised him to do so. Pogba is a very talented player and like Ibrahimovic he will go club to club cashing in on signing on fees, but he will also have a great career playing for the world's best clubs. So like Ibra his decisions will always be justified as he has had a great career, but his motives so far up until now have been money motivated decisions and that will not change. I am not criticising Pogba for being greedy, but he is just that, he's greedy. Anyway people have their own views regarding this, but people who know more than us IE SAF, the editor, even Paddy Crerand they have made things abundantly clear and I agree with them. Good luck to the lad, but I genuinely believe the club did all they could to keep him and I believe he was always going to leave.

16.) 11 Jan 2014 11:12:56
It wasn't so much about how much money Pogba was being paid, it was about how much money Mino was getting. Juve gave him 2m to get Pogba to sign with them, he wanted us to pay him 2m to get Pogba to sign with us. It was a princable thing, we can't be giving agents 2m to sign one of our own youth players. If we were then we might as well close the academy and just sign players instead.

17.) Shappy if that's the truth i'm glad he went the greedy little so and so and I hope he regrets it in the future and watches us become the greatest team of the modern era heres hoping anyway

The only bright thing about today's game was seeing Adnan come on and play in centre midfield. Such a delight when you see a player who is comfortable playing left or right wing, as a striker, in the hole or deeper in midfield. The boys a talent and I just hope with the arrival of Di Maria he isn't forgotten and thrown on the bench. Compared to Young and Valencia who have been wingers their whole career but for some reason don't know to cross or skin a player and always seem to be looking down at the ball at their feet. I cringe watching them play and just think how did a player like young become a footballer. Feel sorry for Kagawa was a star in the German League and for the last two years his career has not just stalled but declined.

Looks like Toni Kroos is off to Real, with Marca reporting £19.9m fee agreed.

Sulei

1.) There must be some serious add-ons involved or ludicrous wages.

2.) Bargain if true.

3.) He's in the last year of his contract. They've done well to get £20m for him!

4.) Only 1 year left on his contract seems a ok price to me

5.) 20 million is better than nothing isn't it when he walks away for free next year.

6.) It is better than nothing, but if that is the final figure I would have thought they could get more for him final year or not.

Saying that wouldn't be surprised if Bayern are trying to forge closer ties with Real Madrid.

Howerya lads, Eds,

Rumours today that a deal for Carvalho is close to being finalised. That would mean we've signed Herrera, Shaw and William. All of these individually are fantastic prospects and have great potential, but anyone else worried that were spending too much on potential and not on guaranteed top class players.
All 3 are expected to be starters but what if they flop. That would be a very expensive backfire of about £99m. I just hope we sign at least 2 established players.

Sulei

1.) 30 Jun 2014 09:02:29
There is always a risk. Torres was pretty established wouldn't you say? But I hear you, brother,I think we would all love a ready to go superstar. Such a pity we didn't fork out for Rodriguez when he was at Porto, but, in saying that, fantasy poker is not good for one's mental health

2.) Also all targets whilst Mr. Moyes was in charge. what if moyes stuck to fergies target? It shows how humble Lvg is I suppose. DM was desperate to stamp his authority/style he let his ego dictate to dismal effect.

Increasingly impressed by our new manager.

3.) Is Shaw not proven is Vermaelen not proven providing he signs Herrera is a risk but he is young

26 Jun 2014 02:03:18
Howerya lads,
Quick question for you guys, EDs, if we supposedly bid £27mil on the last day of the league and that was rejected. And rumours suggesting we've bid or are preparing a bid of £30/34mil which will be rejected as Southampton are holding on for £40mil, why don't we just turn our attention to Moreno? wouldn't cost more than £25mil, and is as highly rated in Spain as Shaw is in England.

Sulei

1.) 26 Jun 2014 08:30:58
If were going to sign a Spanish left back then i'd rather sign Juan Bernat, he looks like he will surpass Moreno in the very near future. Moreno for me hasn't improved in the last 18 months, for such a talented young player that is slightly concerning. that's why considering how much Luke Shaw is going to end up costing I would now be looking to do a deal for one of Ricardo Rodriguez, Layvin Kurzawa or Juan Bernat.

Is it just me or does anyone else also get extremely irritated when they see Young in the united XI. How is the guy even a footballer let alone a united player. Absolutely terrible offers nothing while he's one of the club's top earners.

Seems fishy Sydney seeing as we already spent £37m on Mata. I'd assume they'd of wanted atleast the 37 along with Nani, with some outlets saying they wanted 50 plus Nani.
Fingers crossed anyways

Fully agree with Ed02, Yes the guys are legends and will never be forgotten. But if we wanted some romance then why didn't we give the job straight to Giggs? We wasted 12months and nobody wants to risk another year. What if they do badly or worse than Moyes, its more difficult to sac them. Also nobody wants to see them as the bad guy(s). Either way they have no experience and have achieved nothing managerial wise. I would rather Moyes than 3 legends and phil. Like what style of football does Giggs play? Is he tactically competent? He needs to gain experience than come back in 7/10 years. And what happens if he has a terrible manager career? Do we still give him the job after 5-10 years?

Di Maria has played as part of a midfield 3, in the hole, on the left and on the right wing this season, Fantastic player 11 goals and 21 assists this season. Type of winger we need, fast, can go past players easily and most importantly can cross the ball.

Plus Januzaj's future is in the no.10 position.

Agree with Syd, Toure is a fantastic player if he's allowed to play his own style. Didn't suit barca's tiki taka style.
Still though Pogba will be better.
