Xavi to be offered to premier league clubs? Not a long term fix but surely would be useful. Can't be any substance in it. Can there?

Cban

1.) Xavi, Fellaini, Mata, Carrick, Fletcher - would be good if the opposition ran in slow motion.

2.) Disagree would love for it to happen not think it will but would love it. Great passer and would be able to help influence the young CM coming through the system.

Hello people, was just hoping to straighten something out. With the tabloids, on more than one occasion, have claimed that man utds imminent manager desires Arjen Robben as his first transfer. Eds is this even a possibility? Would buyern consider letting him go?

Woodward recently claimed getting back in the champs league is next seasons priority. Lvg has been quoted, ill paraphrase; "age does not matter".

Excellent job eds sorry if this is absolute poppycock, I guess us United fans are desperate to believe anything remotely positive or sensational.

Cban

{Ed004's Note - I doubt it}

1.) Why wouldn't BM sell Robben? Hasn't he been available for a couple years now?

{Ed004's Note - I just think given his age and position he plays it isn't really an option. Unless it's for a very low fee and he's bought just for Januzaj so that he can learn from him}

2.) Great signing and great for Januzaj. Ideal I think dependant on the fee.

3.) Robben would add at least 20 goals and assists and has a few years left in him. He would win RvP a load of penalties. Could do with Robben and RvP for 2-3 years with Adnan and Wilson replacing them. Obviously that would be the hope.

4.) I agree with the OP really can't see us going for robben

{Ed004's Note - also he is a key player in the bayern side and was probably one of their best players this year. Why would he leave? And he'd cost too much for 2 year stop gap IMO}

5.) He signed a new contract in march as well

6.) I can see your point ed004's but don't think lvg will be too concerned with how much we spend. Of course 25 million is a lot for a player of his age but he's top draw and if you don't spend big you lose out. We should have signed him years ago when we he left Madrid. If memory serves me right he went to BM for about 7 million!

7.) Looking at all our wingers I would say he is better then them all so I reckon we will move in for him, attacking direct, still got pace on him and most important he is dutch :P. what's not to love, he can teach Januzaj how to be a inside forward :P

8.) He would be fantastic for Januzaj and work well with RVP. Perfect signing, age is just a number, we could get a number of good seasons out of him. As fans we should concern ourselves with the quality of the player, not his age, wage, fee etc, it doesn't impact upon us.

9.) Why not play him with AJ. Robbed can play on the right and AJ on the left.

Say what you want but I'd rather them 2 than young on the left and Valencia on the right, It would add that much need pace we have lacked. It's all only Gossip anyway, it's best to wait till players have the pen in their hand before thinking of who fits where etc

Here's hoping to an exciting summer, If there's any voids we can then fill them in January.

Would like to say a massive thank you to Nemanja Vidic. What a centre half. All the best to his future.

Cban

1.) A great shame he is leaving. I wonder if he is regretting it now Moyes has gone. Wish we had him for another year as it would of eased the squad rebuild we need to do.

2.) That's a good point that fresh, maybe. Guess he has a nice little signing on fee to look forward to tho. Anyhow all the best

3.) Yes same here, for me great Captain and heart of a lion. We will miss him.

4.) Great servant and warrior but has lost a couple of yards of pace in the last few seasons leading to a few red cards.wish him all the best and think the slower tempo of the italian league will extend his playing days a bit.

5.) If we can get Hummels I can say him leaving won't be that much of a blow but if someone like hummels dosen't come in then its a massive blow

Is fellaini fit for tonight?

Cban

1.) Depends what you mean by"fit"! Physically fit or fit for purpose?

2.) Apparently there are reports that he missed the last training session and even reports that he didn't travel. Would be good if he's fit. Apparently a player bayern are scared of from set pieces hence guardiola's quotes yesterday.

3.) Unfortunately he didn't travel with the squad due to illness, so he can't play today.

4.) If that's true and depending on our set up he could be missed. I know Fellaini didn't get rave reviews by most in the 1st game and probably was at fault for their equaliser but he put himself about and provided a bit of fight in the middle of the park and sadly we miss that. The only solution would be to put in young Jones but then we lose his excellent skills against Robben and Ribery who I think contained them quite well on the 1st leg.

5.) It sucks if he isn't playing. He does cause problems. And puts his self about. I hope Fletcher starts if he doesn't. Cleverly couldn't keep up with this calibre of game. Hell Valencia would be a better shout in centre mid with adnan out wide. Kags playing deep. A lot to ponder, moyes has got it correct on the most parts, tactically this last 4 weeks I'm hoping he does tonight

Can anybody confirm or deny if Moyes has played the same side two games in a row? I understand its a squad game but I don't think he has, last night should of seen the same side as the one that beat west ham. Or similar.There is no consistency. No core to the team. No wonder we can't get a run put together. David Moyes is treating this season as preseason. And as a result our home form is on par with crystal palace (no disrespect to palace) who have axed a manager.

But

The really upsetting factor from last night is that we, Manchester United, gave up at 70 mins. The belief has been sucked out of the team? How? By who? I think we all know. And so should the powers that be.

Cban

1.) Well said agree with your sentiments

SuperRed

What do you back up your 'Fellaini overrated' statement with?

he is underrated, here is why;

73% of tackles won, 329 Made in total, 65 clearances also. All whilst playing in a more advanced roll. The guy is very versatile and talented technically, look past his hair and see the footballer mate

Haha what a venue, Hooters; another theatre of dreams I guess,

Staying in Mexico, I watched our boys ruthless demolition of Arsenal 8-2. August 28th 2011 i'm Merida (about 4 hours away from Cancun) whilst volunteering.

Witnessed in the volunteer house at 10:30 am, dark rum and coke, surrounded by fellow volunteers, majority of whom supported arsenal or anyone United played. Never forget the sounds of mariachi bands and weeping gooners.

Exactly nomidfield, why have a burger when you have a steak at home? Also hasn't young James just confessed his love for Madrid?

Also all targets whilst Mr. Moyes was in charge. what if moyes stuck to fergies target? It shows how humble Lvg is I suppose. DM was desperate to stamp his authority/style he let his ego dictate to dismal effect.

Increasingly impressed by our new manager.

He is just what we need :)

I have faith in him, he needs a goal and a run in a stable team. Bit of patience
