First of all I must admit I am a spurs fan not a united fan, but because the spurs page on this site is so boring and I often come to your page for bit of entertainment. Makes me laugh that people on here are stressing that you don't seem to be signing many players. In my opinion you have done the best bit of business of anyone securing Depay, the boy is a future world player of the year and a very good player now, Darmain is a very good player and will do a great job for you. All the ramos talk is nonsence. he is obviously going to stay and get a new contract by using your name, many have done it. Ronaldo does it every year. I think you should of offered big money to Hummels when he was deciding his future, offered the same as your willing to offer ramos because in my opinion Hummels is best defender around.

Agreed, can't understand why we didn't offer £28.6million for hummels . Surely would have got him, and on less of a big wage too

{Ed004's Note - Maybe we are concerned with how Hummels would adapt to the premiership or his injury record? Or maybe as captain he doesn't want to leave Dortmund after the season they had}

2.) 07 Jul 2015 16:24:01
I would love to see hummels in the prem, seems like his game is suited for it.

3.) 07 Jul 2015 18:02:07
Think he was in two minds ed004, weren't there reports he wasn't happy that we didn't make our interest in him firm enough?

{Ed004's Note - I doubt that. We were trying very hard to sign him at the start of the window}

4.) 07 Jul 2015 18:28:20
So clearly just didn't want to join us then! He wouldn't be on his own

5.) 07 Jul 2015 18:50:28
Some fair points there boddey Imo.

What is everyones opinion of Januzaj? As a spurs fan I think he hasn't lived up to the huge hype about him when he came on the scene. Seems too lightweight and afraid to run at people or commit defenders. just wondered what the united community think of him.

boddey_24

1.) 24 Jun 2015 11:11:32
Lightweight needs to beef up

2.) 24 Jun 2015 11:22:39
he did seem to have bulked up a little towards the end of the season, maybe we were developing him this way last season, I said a few weeks ago, I think he will have a much better season this time around.

3.) 24 Jun 2015 11:41:55
You think he hasn't lived up to the hype? He's just turned 20, he has a lot of time to do that. The English media like to talk teenagers up so when they inevitably struggle for a bit they can call them failures.

In the under 21s he is a class above, sometimes it seems a bit unfair on the defender trying to mark him, he just needs to make that step up which is sometimes easier said than done. You don't have as much time at the top level and every mistake is criticised, hopefully this year we will see some more improvement when he plays for the first team.

4.) 24 Jun 2015 12:02:35
he hasn't lived up to the hyp no, icant remember the las united game I thought crist the januzaj looks a good player! so no he hasn't progressed GDS2.

There are young players that have lived up to the hype so wondering what's happening with him that's all

5.) 24 Jun 2015 12:05:10
Januzaj is a brilliant player, maybe needs to bulk up, but LvG is the best manager for this. Adnan said recently that he wants to stay at United and become a legend, so he also seems focused and determined. He will be better this season with a few more appearances.

6.) 24 Jun 2015 12:16:10
The lad needs a run of games, just like anyone else. Whether that's with us, or on loan at a good Premiership side. This stop-start thing won't help him in the slightest to progress.

I still have very high hopes for him - I can't forget some of the performances I've witnessed from him in the U21s, and in the full team last season.

A bit more strength, and a bit more maturity in his decision-making, and I still think he'll be a top player for us.

I remember people having the same doubts about Ronaldo - the whole show-pony thing, but he turned out alright.

7.) 24 Jun 2015 12:28:18
I think he needs a good season just to remind people what he can do. he's gone bit quite last year or so that is all I was saying, he has bags of potential just needs to show t a bit more

8.) 24 Jun 2015 12:53:18
He either becomes a Giggs or an Eagles. Fingers crossed for the former!

9.) 24 Jun 2015 13:17:48
boddey,

I would agree with you there mate, lots of potential but didn't quite show it last season, there is a lot of time for him to do that though, we are too quick to judge young players sometimes. Shame he isn't English, 3 good games next season and we could get 50 million for him.

10.) 24 Jun 2015 13:18:12
I think he's a 20yr old that like most 20 yr olds is inconsistent. The boy has amazing talent and as long as he works hard and keeps his feet on the ground he could reach the heights of other very good players.

If in 3 years it's the same yes he was over hyped but for now he's allowed to be a young inconsistent player while learning his trade.

11.) 24 Jun 2015 13:51:39
if he was English city would be offering 70 mil for him haha. just think he needs to get his head down and maybe take few more risks when on the ball. seems like all he does is pass sideways because he's scared to lose the ball. get to the by line and take the full back on and whip dangerous balls in, u do that and van persie will improve his goal tally as well. I would try and build the team around him in the cup competitions and see if he thrives being the top dog and give him the freedom of the park. I'm sure you united fans aren't that bothered if you get knocked out of the carling cup so take a few risks with the boy.

Spurs fan here.

First off I think you have done good business getting Depay in, the boy is quality and will be massive success for you.

On a more serious note, please leave our Hugo alone. I am 5 foot 4" tall and even I have his top and wear it. I look a right plank but I don't care because that's how much we love him and want him to be our number 1. There are other good goalkeepers out there for you. Begovic would do good job for you or let valdes have ago just hands off Lllors :)

Hi Boddey_24 - Hugo is a great keeper, We would be lucky to have him. I'm sure you can sell the shirt and get a new one. Wouldn't jump straight to a Kane shirt though.;-)

2.) 19 Jun 2015 12:46:59
Tell you what boddey you let us have your Hugo and you can have begovic.deal? :)

3.) 19 Jun 2015 13:00:47
haha going nowhere near kane shirt! haha

nope don't want begovic, he's all yours discountdave :)

4.) 19 Jun 2015 13:01:40
Not getting carried away with this Kane fever, one good half a season does not make a 40 million player. So many other variables some into play. Andy carrol was once a 35 milion player and we laughed at them for it.

5.) 19 Jun 2015 13:16:00
kane will be a marked man this year, if he does anywhere near as good then England and spurs has found its new lineker :)

6.) 19 Jun 2015 14:12:42
you cannot class it as luck to score the amount of goals he did, i hope he does score a sack full again just to shut some of the "he was lucky" folk up.

do you really think del bosque will not pick one of the best goalkeepers in the world just because van gaal won't pick him?? do me a favour!!! De Gea will be in the spanish goal come the euros whatever happens. All the united fans need to look hard at van gaal for signing romero. Why sign a goalkeeper that is ordinary at best when you expected your number 1 to leave? The man is a joke and tries to out smart everyone with his interviews but just comes across as a right jackass.

if you would of offered hummels 150/200K a week he would of been your new centre back. He has stayed at dortmund because unted didn't firm up there interest and make him feel wanted.

united have one striker, and even he likes to run to left back to win the ball so you need to buy a world class forward to be classed as title contenders. I'm sorry to all the people looking through rose tinted specs but Wilson is mid table championship quality. Rooney will not win you the title with his goals! get lewendowski in and I will take u seriously.
