If rumours are true and city have bid for mangala then surely we must bid, but then who would the player choose?! Only thing he'd get at united is regular football. Hope other teams prove there is value though as it'll show united up again

nozzla

1.) The reported bid is €45m.

We are not going to bid anywhere near that if it were true.

€25m and potential player included would be our best offer.

€35m cash maybe. but just can not see it

2.) And that is where we fall down. Maybe not this player, but I can't believe we don't have the funds to spend big.

It may only be you tube videos, but Fernando who we are linked with looks an excellent player. Quick with and without the ball, and seems to get everywhere in front of his front four. Doesn't score too many but that will come. I say sign him for 15 million would be a bargain. {Ed002's Note - He is out of contract at the end of the season and is looking to negotiate a deal on a pre-contract in January. Porto will try to sell although the player cannot be forced to sign.}

nozzla

1.) He is quick and definate play breaker moreover he is brazilian so more skillfull on the ball as well
Would definatly be a good buy in january.
And I guess we should not wait till summer to buy him on free as he will definalty have more admirers to snap him for free till then.
Even if he is cl cup tied I would wish we buy him along with a left back in january.

That was dire.

We lacked speed in passing and possession was just so slow. And who is the coach for shooting because they need sacking. Terrible play int he final third, and to continue to try and use Rooney is affecting this team. he offers absolutely nothing going forward. i truly believe that right now he is a hinderance to us doing well.

It didn't help that Lee Mason was pretty awful and missed two good penalty shouts (not that we'd have scored them) .

The overall squad is clearly not strong enough, particularly in the striking department and wings.

Why on earth are we accommodating Rooney by moving our best goal scorer out wide? Rooney has offered absolutely nothing this game and is the reason we're showing nothing in the final third. he needs taking off.

A new striker should be top of the list in january.

To be honest Herrera has hardly been involved and Martial has given it away quite a bit. We are passing very poorly and loose and losing the ball too frequently. I think we need Mata on in the second half. Everything is coming down the left hand side from them. All in all very disjointed and weird game.

2.) 21 Oct 2015 20:27:11
I've never known a striker be so static in the box. He literally doesn't move.

3.) 21 Oct 2015 20:29:27
I assume you were saying that after he tore Coleman a new arse hole on Saturday as well?

4.) 21 Oct 2015 20:37:15
I don't see how you can blame Rooney on this one. Nobody has gotten anywhere near him meaning it's incredibly easy for the opposition to mark him out of the game. He can't have had more than 3 touches in the CF position and is only able to get onto the ball when he drops deep.

Martial and Lingard have been terrible (as have most of our players tonight) . Ultimately though it's the style of football they're being asked to play. LVG seems to be under the illusion that possession is worth more than points. I can't wait until he's gone and I can start enjoying our performances again. Until then; cue Fellaini.

5.) 21 Oct 2015 20:44:45
I seem to be commenting at half time again but Rooney is marking the central defenders quite well, none of them have got away from him, unfortunately that is not his job. We have this brilliant new centre forward with quick feet and stick him on the left to accommodate Rooney. I would look at plan B with Fellaini and see if we can get the ball to stick up front with him but Rooney would be off for me and Martial in the middle.

6.) 22 Oct 2015 00:00:31
GDS2, I think you and I, along with LVG and Giggs, must be the only people associated with United who see Rooneys worth. He had no service tonight. You can't blame him for not making runs when the crosses coming in were no-where near him, and whenever it looked like we could penetrate behind, the ball went back to the defense. isn't he our top goal scorer so far on 7 goals? People always single out Rooney for some reason. Most players were poor today, why has no one mentioned just how awful Schweinsteiger was in the first half. I lost count of the amount of times he gave the ball away. Fellaini was quality and a ray of light in the second half, and I hope LVG saw it too and starts him on sunday.

7.) 22 Oct 2015 06:19:39
Jase

I watched some half hearted efforts to challenge for the ball. Then he doesn't make himself available for the ball and then is not able to shield or keep it like Martial can. Time holds still for no one and for me and I said this in summer Rooney is declining and needs managing. Pushing an exciting young talent wide to accommodate Rooney is not the right option. LVG has dropped or substituted the other players if their performance is not up there and he really needs to look at Rooneys now.

Remember SAF was benching Rooney and if you watch him you can see the sad decline, he just is not the bustling centre forward, he just marks the centre half. It's time for him to feel the pressure and put Martial up top and let Rooney fight for another place.

Get Juan Mata off the pitch. He offers us nothing.

Anyone else a little concerned that we are not getting our deals done early so that they can attend the full pre-season with us?

nozzla

1.) 24 Jun 2015 08:03:54
Well its early days but LvG did say he wanted deals done early. Liverpool are busy, and City, Chelsea and Arsenal are all active, yet despite the best attemps by various newspapers to generate our interest with stories of just about everyone being on our 'radar', very little is actually happening. Is this another 'big spending' summer when we don't actually spend big?
At least some of our youngsters are pushing for places, though I wouldn't want to rely on them just yet. For me, our problem areas are still waiting to be sorted out and I would like everyone inplace before we head of to America. Bored of allthe made up stories and players using us to get their new contracts.

2.) 24 Jun 2015 08:05:10
We have ALREADY SIGNED Depay for a CONSIDERABLE amount of cash ALREADY. What more do folk want? Clubs haven't even done their end of season evaluations yet!

3.) 24 Jun 2015 08:29:46
If we don't sign AT LEAST 6 first team players by the 2nd July, we can kiss good by to challenging next season and we may not even qualify for the CL group stage!

4.) 24 Jun 2015 09:04:54
I must be missing something with the many posts about how we have as yet, not signed anyone. I thought the window did not open until 1st July.

If that is right, then no transfers can have taken place?

5.) 24 Jun 2015 09:18:26
I think we will do a big "reveal", to show we are totally organised this season. It is disruptive to preparation if you have new players drip fed into the squad throughout pre-season. LVG for all the criticism I give him does get a thumbs up for being prepared (or wanting to be), and goes that extra mile to ensure players are ready.

Getting all the new faces in for the first day of pre-season will be his aim and from a commercial point of view having one big bonanza day will do wonders for the stock price and cause minimum disruption.

Alternatively - we could just be waiting for our players to be moved on so we aren't caught short and held over a barrel finding replacements.

Who's knows, but I do know several players have moved for reasonable prices already that would have done a fantastic job for us - am I naïve to think we have a master plan or are we just winging it aqain like we did last summer?!

6.) 24 Jun 2015 09:24:03
JMB has got it spot on there. Weirdly it's not at simple as pointing at a player and clicking your fingers.

7.) 24 Jun 2015 09:25:42
JMB,
I am sure you can come up with what we want as you probably want the same, question should be "at this time?" Hopefully we will get that DMF and CB in time to understand the philosophy.
JTRED,
Ayew hasn't moved to Swansea, we haven't signed Depay and Milner is still a City player. Surely the 1st July thing can't be right?

8.) 24 Jun 2015 09:44:44
It's all getting so very tedious half the players and managers are still on holiday, the international window does not open for another week and all the deals we are probably working on are not straight forward so I think we should all show a bit of restraint and calm down.

9.) 24 Jun 2015 09:48:21
I'm with Brendan, it's the 24th June and we have signed one dutch player. Pfft, how on earth are we going to compete with the big boys. Might as well give up now.

10.) 24 Jun 2015 10:37:51
Beast which players do you speak of mate?

Just out of interest.

11.) 24 Jun 2015 11:02:02
JMB - I thought we would have Firmino, so I'm not exactly reliable here. But I have a strong suspicion Clyne is done, I hope Otamendi and Vidal, but to be honest I haven't a clue because there are so many variables.

I just don't believe we would be sat twiddling our thumbs whilst key players are being snapped up. Maybe the Copa America is holding things up slightly, but I do think we will name 2-3 signings in one day soon.

12.) 24 Jun 2015 11:53:12
Its funny you talk about key players being snapped up when in reality you have no idea who LVG actually wants to sign.

A little patience is required there is around 7 weeks to the beginning of the season, if nobody is signed in say the next 3 to 4 weeks then start to worry.

13.) 24 Jun 2015 14:31:13
Nate- I say "key" because they are being talked about in glowing terms and will be/should be big players for their teams.

I don't know who we are after but this is a football rumour/banter site after all!

Absolutely massive.

1.) 22 Mar 2015 15:35:58
Huge result and made it more difficult than it should have been. I am not sure if anyone saw it towards the end of the game when ADM could not be bothered to run back from an offside position, whilst we had the ball outside their box . I think we should bench him and disgraceful in terms of applying yourself and sell him in the summer if a decent offer comes in.

Anyway 6 points from Spurs and Liverpool is massive and well done Mr. LVG and the boys. Going to open an expensive bottle of wine:)))

2.) 22 Mar 2015 16:28:33
I thought the same GCU - I had to double check that it was ADM, lazy so and so.

Chelsea doing their best to throw away the league. Come on Hull! the Able Abel.

3.) 22 Mar 2015 17:39:35
Totally agree gcu. I would bench him and if his attitude doesn't change then he has to go. Falcao hasn't had the best of times but he was running celebrating like his life depended on it.
I was a massive fan of adm at RM but since the infamous game at Leicester, he's been utter rubbish and does not deserve the united shirt let alone the no.7 shirt. He has to buck up his ideas and quick.

We needed a new spine, ST, CM, CB and a GK if De Gea left. We've added players (darmian being the best) but we have added no pace to the team which is another major thing that we lacked.

If we sign austin it will be a complete farce.

It's utter garbage. Not one signing so far can play this weekend. And yet we see nothing from our deal makers. They should have kept quiet about big transfers kitty's etc as we wouldn't have been so paranoid. We are easily three players minimum short and selling Wellbeck who is our fastest player. Seems crazy.
