So, I have mate that's in marketing in London. he has heard rumours about Rashford that might hit tabloids soon. don't shoot the messenger

"Heard rumours Rashford got an addiction to sleeping pills and gambling and has turned up to training pissed. Borrowed 4million off Kyle Walker apparently! "

Hmmmm.

Allegedly is the word you might want to use.

Not the first time I've heard these allegations. Well the borrowing money part I hadn't but the rest has been mentioned a few places.
Never know what to believe these days.

Interesting you say this. I was chatting to some people involved with a football club, not United, an month or two ago and they said the chat around the football world is Rashford owes a lot of money to people off the back of gambling. Nothing said about sleeping tablets. I hope the truth is he’s a lazy so and so but seems he has distractions. I want him out the club and I think he needs it, but if these rumours are true I hope he can get the right support and I do think he needs that away from the Manchester United spotlight.

Given the effort he has put in recently he owes the fanbase a lot as well!

If any of that is true we aren't going to get rid of him. If he isn't wanted elsewhere now just imagine how his rating will be if this becomes public knowledge.

Yes heard all of this also but didn’t really want to spread it as it’s likely some misinformation, his performances and general attitude over the last couple of years do look like he was the weight of the world on his shoulders though so none of it would be a huge surprise.

If I turned up for work pissed or didn’t try Iwould be in breach of contract. My salary would not be paid during suspension and I might be fired. Sack him. Save£30 million. No one will pay a big fee for him.
But, rumours may well be BS. As they usually are . Wouldn’t think Kyle Walker had a spare £4 mill with all his matrimonial and paternity issues!

Might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's illegal to gamble in Saudi Arabia, so that, providing there's any truth to those rumours, might be the real reason he doesn't want to go there.

Perhaps the apparent risk of him gambling underground and owing money to people who might have greater propensity for damaging the odd leg of individuals who 'disrespect' them would appear as rather a large risk that's very much worth avoiding.

its one thing taking the sleeping pills for his own use its another thing entirely passing them round the dressing room 20 mins before kick off .

There are plenty of illegal things in Saudi that are far less illegal for star footballers that agree to move there. My understanding is that Rashford wants to prove that he can win at a top European club. He believes that playing for united is holding him back.

Rashford stoned on sleeping pills would explain his performances for the last two seasons.

Bloody brilliant rumour by the way. Just what this site was created for. Can't believe you didn't share it GDS2 if you heard it before.

Sleeping pill addiction has been prevalent in football for a number of years and affects lots of players.

With Rashford it could be just burnout, he has been playing in the first team since 18, over 400 games, 60 for England and under constant scrutiny. We all have our breaking point, maybe he has reached his.

Sometimes we just need to have a change to rediscover our motivation and be happy. I hope his does move on and discovers his love for football again.

MancMan,

You’re right, I probably should have but it didn’t come from anyone particularly reliable and I’m not sure spreading misinformation helps this situation massively.

Fair enough GDS2. it is a rumour though and this is a rumour site.

Now I'm wondering what other gossip is being held back ?.

Who knows what goes on behind closed doors.

What is clear is that Amorim has set a minimum standard that players need to reach to be considered for the first team. For whatever reason Rashford isn't meeting that standard.

Amorim has praised Rashford's quality and has said that if he meets the standards then he will be considered for selection again.

The balls in his court. Either he bucks up or he ships out. Either way it'll be the right decision for our club.
