It s no coincidence that we are playing better and defending better without Maguire and DeLigt at CB with quick players left and right in the back 3. For me Deligt is much better in there he is not quick but can read the game and is brave in the tackle, he also talks a lot back there which helps. Maguire spends his time pointing and putting his hand up for offsides.

I also agree, Maguire has never been and never will be good enough especially alongside De Ligt. Watching him try to run after people is just embarrassing and I’d munch rather we used some younger faster players and see how they do than keep persisting with him. I actually prefer Lindelof to be honest, he’s calmer on the ball.

Against Leicester DeLeigt played both right and left in the back three, and had a very good game. I think he’s best suited to the middle, as he actually tries to coordinate the defence, but can do a job anywhere on the back three. Maguire is a decent option in a back three. Happy for him to be part of the rotation next season. I don’t think the issue for us is really pace in the back three, it’s positioning. Over the past few weeks it looks like the back line has started to understand how to move together, making it less likely that a quick pass can be played in behind them.

I like De ligt but let's put things in perspective. he was facing a poor Leicester team who could have played all night and probably not scored.

As for the captaincy I am not sure yet if he is good enough for that role. Apart from Bruno though right now nobody stands out as captain material.

Always happy to answer and I’m surprised it’s not been brought up more to be honest.

It’s gone up in line with my salary pretty much so I’m not massively against it especially as we had tickets frozen for 10 years. My main issue is with the OAP ticket holders who used to have a 50% discount but now have a 25% discount, for people like my dad and many others that means they will now pay about £300 more, in some cases around a 60% increase which is absolutely uncalled for and crazy in my opinion. I am hoping that due to some backlash they change their mind on this decision but I just can’t see it.

The club don’t want old people at the ground, old people don’t buy shirts and merchandise but they are the lifeblood of the club so it’s pretty horrible to see, but there isn’t really much we can do about it. I’ve mentioned previously the option of just not buying a ticket anymore isn’t one I would be happy to take and I think that goes for many others and the owners know that unfortunately.

I’ve not abused anybody, I said I don’t think Dalot is good enough. I thought I was over positive and biased so which one is it? Perhaps I just say good and bad things.

There is a previous poster who posts exactly like you, only negative posts, always picking an argument that has also been known to have a nationality at the start of his name, he’s probably had 10 different names and they always get banned eventually and disappear then a similar poster comes back a few weeks / months later and the same cycle happens again, when called out on it he just abuses posters calling them childish and immature, so just an observation at this point but thank you for proving my point.

De Ligt played pretty much every game when he was fit for Juventus and Bayern so not sure where you’re getting it from that he didn’t make the team, think you just made that up. And it’s Maguire. Happy to debate anything with someone who’s willing to debate and not make things up to back up their constantly negative opinion.

He left Bayern because Kompany didn’t want him, up until Kompany he played pretty regularly. Bit of a stretch saying he didn’t make it at Bayern. He decided to leave Juventus but was playing regularly.

I think dalot is poor in our team. Super professional but has done little or nothing over his injured career for any manager. I think Jose loaned him out while here.
He has been linked with lots of clubs but no offset ever received.
Being as good as a home grown player I studied that if an acceptable offer comes in for him he would be sold.
German in not a big deligt fan as I think he is slow but he is much better than maguire imo. His positioning and ability in the ball supercedes maguire.
He is decent and when played with pace either side is much better option than maguire.
Yoro is a real talent and has very good instincts from what I've seen. He will be very good. Still a very young boy to be playing cb in the epl.

Im not saying he not better than McGuire, what I am saying is he is the Dutch version of McGuire, yes got a brain that McGuire lacks but got the same amount of pace, both carthorses and neither are good enough to take the team towards titles! Yoro to me looks weak, hopefully he strengthens because he is young, but Heaven looked a much much better prospect, I will hazard a guess that if RA had his pick of players neither DeLigt or Yoro are at united, but time will tell, it’s all about opinions

Its a decent record for a 25 year old who has also had a few injuries along the way.

De Ligt is certainly not quick, but he isn't anywhere near as slow as Maguire, nor is he as slow to turn, and generally lacking in agility.

Maguires lack of pace isn't even the main problem, it's his lack of a brain, which is not a problem with De Ligt.
