Three signings

1) New Owners
2) Someone they appoint who can make clear non sentimental non financial only based decisions to improve the football club as a football club with success the No1 ambition, not asset value or income.
2) New experienced manager (not Southgate) with the right Gravitas as soon as possible.

Given the leeches will unlikely be moved, this is more realistic
1) Instead of a data analyst, a decision maker, someone who will be decisive and make non sentimental football decisions quickly, accurately and decisively
2) New proper Manager who is not a sentimental choice with appropriate coaches and money to spend
3) A contract to improve the ground and surroundings to what it should be

Last point why do we now need another three signings to challenge? 6 windows and over £400m spent and we still need 3 signings. Tells you everything you need to know about the level of manager.

Two DMs, a prominent one who will start most games and a backup (probably someone younger) . But they should be special-ist holding midfielders, not box to box players capable of doing an ok job there. Kante would be great now, but he's getting on and reports Chelsea are open to selling may mean he is beginning to show a decline. The young lad from Monaco may be worth a go.

To that I would add a RB, but only one genuinely better than AWB and who will fill the role for several years, definitely not Trippier.

A quality defensive midfielder. Kessie's name came up last week and that's the one everyone is jumping on so I'll stick with that.
A RB upgrade. Are we talking obtainable or ideal? Kimmich.
CF? Assuming Cavani moves on (maybe before expected) and Martial is still uncertain, it's always Haaland for me, but with CR7 about for two seasons who knows if either would move aside. We've already seen Ronaldo strop when he gets left out or taken off.

I see a few people questioning why we need another 3 players to challenge.

In theory we shouldn't, Fellaini, Herrera, Rojo, Blind, Schneiderlin, Darmian, Di Maria, Romero, Mkhitaryan, Sanchez, Lukaku and James.

12 players bought for hundreds of millions all sold at a loss. That doesn't take into consideration older players like Falcao, Zlatan, Ighalo, Schweinsteiger who have also been brought in on short term deals.

The reality is the club has no real overarching vision, and keeps zig zagging all over the place in terms of recruitment to suit the new managers.

With over 1 billion spent we shouldn't NEED to sign anymore players.

But answer me this, do we have a top class fully functional midfield? With Pogba potentially leaving, Matic coming to the end of his career at the top level, Donny in no man's land. That leaves McTominay and Fred.

I think regardless of what happens with the manager situation, next summer or possibly sooner the club will look to refresh/ rebuild the midfield.

Spenno - isn't that the huge mystery, Carrick and Fletcher at the club 2 great midfielders in their own right with football brains - and Ole who played in front of one of the greatest midfields in PL history and still we are where we are with the personnel we have.

I wasn't a great fan of either player Boyfromburrenway, but Fergie could drain something out of every player. Ole obviously can't and one could argue most players who've donned the shirt in recent years seem drowned by it. But to be fair McT and Fred are neither of those players.

I think its well documented that we will invest in midfield next summer or maybe even in jan.
Lingard and vdb are quite likely to move on in jan and that may allow us get one in if the right player is available.
Pogba will likely leave in the summer also mata and matic may be off in the summer. Fred will be going into his last 2 years.
There is a couple from the academy that may step up into the squad. But we need to rebuild there for sure.
