Watford tomorrow. Other results have gone our way again and we have yet another chance to move back up the table and take a clear 5th position, which could be as good as 4th given the city situation.

But, its Watford, who we should be beating with ease, and these are just the kind of games and opportunities we've been unable to capitalise on. Please, Ole, don't mess it up again!

Getting deja vu. This was stated a few weeks back when we played wolves and look how that turned out. Hoping Bruno can inspire the 3 points 2morrow.

I expect a good win tomorrow. Chelsea can be caught. Great win yesterday but like ourselves they are thin on the ground. Leicester could get dragged back into the race they are in our form only 3 wins in their last 11. So all is not lost in the cl hunt just yet.

Every time I think we will get a comfy win we don't and we struggle. So for tomorrow I'm not saying or thinking anything 😂.

I think the players need to read that message too. They need to turn up and start fast. If the players win their battles all over the pitch then we should be good enough to win by more than 1.

It's not the individual performances that let us down, it's the lack of cohesion. We'll be relying on an individual piece of magic or capitalising on a mistake. At least with Bruno here the chance of the magic is a little higher, and Martiall is scoring so hopefully goes into the game full of confidence.

Watford will press and be totally committed. Only if we match them do we have a chance.

McTominay is coming back at a much needed time.
He normally brings the best out of other players with his tenacity and energy in the middle of the park.

And if Pogba comes back next week and turns on his gear, we can end the season on a high note.

Tom, that is the problem. People still think we can get "comfy" wins? There are no comfy wins anymore. You have to go out, be committed and work hard and hope our better players can make the difference.
Unfortunately, our players have the "comfy" win attitude in these matches, and we often come a cropper due to this attitude.

AAA

I think we come a cropper in games like these because we don’t set up right. Playing 5 at the back to frustrate doesn’t work at home against this type of opposition. Fernandez will be interesting today, if played further forward and we actually attack we should win.

Wonder if there will be as big an outcry with that lo celso decision as there was with maguire on Monday night. It didn't look too clever to me. VAR again 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️.

Think there will be a retroactive suspension because they admitted making a mistake.

According to the ref expert on bt sport they can't because it was only a VAR mistake and not the ref. Its just the VAR official holding his hands up but they can't retrospectively ban him. Total farce is what it's become.

Confirmed by the pgmol that no action to be taken against lo celso as the incident was seen by both the ref and VAR. bloody hell what a shambles. It seems to me that we have more controversies this season with VAR than we had last season without it. So much for it helping to clear things up 😂🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️.

You can bet your ass there is a lot of talk about it. No clue how they got that one wrong. That's about as clear a red as you can get.

Not the only decision today either. How hard is it for the ref to look at the monitor and make a decision? Make it like rugby where the onfield ref and VAR have a chat both see the pictures and then the pitch ref makes the final decision. Is that too difficult and hard to understand?

I think what VAR is showing is the poor standard of referring in the EPL.

The system in Rugby works because the reffing teams understand that they still have to make common sense decisions. Somethings, like if the ball was over the try line, can be decided by the video in certain circumstances. But it is mostly used as a mechanism to help the refs make better decisions.

VAR, in contrast, is being used by refs as a technical decision making device - i. e. the refs are trying to use VAR to make their decisions for them. This has resulted in a ridiculously bureaucratic implementation of the rules that take no account of the actual specific context. This means that all common sense is suspended to absolve refs from any actual responsibility for the decisions.

In short, good officials can use video to help them make better decisions, bad ones use it to make the difficult decisions for them.

100% agree. Its a get out of jail free card for the refs at the minute.
