Hey eds, love the site; supposedly Hirving Lozano's father-in-law claims he's joining Man U, never watched him but seem to recall he was of interest to mourinho at Chelsea. Know he's a RW which I think we need. Any info eds?

sandfan2

{Ed004's Note - I haven't heard anything about him. Or seen him play to comment on him. Just seen the rumours online}

BBC are reporting that the di maria move is all but completed with the player having said goodbye to his teammates. just wondering if that's true as there was no mention of personal terms being agreed

sandfan2

1.) Ancelotti is quoted as saying that whilst all of the details are yet to be finalised - it's looking likely he will leave.

"Di Maria has not trained with us today and he came in to say goodbye to the players and people at the club. There is nothing official yet but it is being sorted out. The decision is his and the club has done what it could to keep him here."

2.) Cheers, I always assume its a bit dodgy unless I see "deal completed"

3.) I have also seen the pictures of Di Maria saying his goodbyes to his teammates.

Okay so 6 hours left of the window. I usually say to myself to trust the manager and the club but if we don't make any considerable signings today then I really can't see us even getting top 4. With januzaj leaving on loan and Hernandez out of the club we are literally one injury to an attacker away from a crisis. Slightly beginning to panic.

What we have the big Felli waiting on the sidelines. Easily a 20 goal a season striker, and I'm sure blind could do a job on the rw if push came to shove.

2.) 01 Sep 2015 12:24:43
When Daley goes down marching down the wing.

3.) 01 Sep 2015 12:26:11
Haha well that's my worry, at the moment blind on the rw isn't even push come to shove he is the back up.

4.) 01 Sep 2015 12:26:46
Is there a smaller 1st team squad in the premier league looks like any injuries and the youth team will be in

5.) 01 Sep 2015 12:31:09
Small, we've got 45 keepers in the stands alone!

6.) 01 Sep 2015 13:30:28
Now ddg is staying, Romero can stop faffing around at gk and he will be the SURPRISE striker lvg has been telling us about!!

7.) 01 Sep 2015 13:39:05
Did someone say Peter Crouch?!

8.) 01 Sep 2015 13:43:35
Romero can get back to presenting Celebrity Big Brother Bit on the Side. I knew I recognised him from somewhere.

hey eds, just a quick thanks for all the good work, big fan of the site. I was just wondering how long it takes (roughly) for a transfer to be worked out? With time running out until the window closes it's a bit worrying to see a lack of any activity from Utd, especiially when most people agree that we need to make at least 1/2 more signings. Basically, do you expect Man U to bring in anyone in the next few days? Are we being secretive or just done for the window?

sandfan2

{Ed007's Note - There's no time scale for transfers, some can be done in a couple of hours and some can take months. I'd be surprised if Utd don't make 1 or 2 signings by the end of the window.}

1.) 28 Aug 2015 15:10:08
I think we keeping our cards close to our chest and if any deals are done, they will, IMO, be last minuted.com deals.

2.) 28 Aug 2015 16:59:17
Who.is to say deals are not being worked on. we have been keeping quiet all summer on deals so it does not mean they are not in the pipeline.
It is crazy to think Woodward will wake up on Tuesday and start the process!!

3.) 28 Aug 2015 17:36:26
cheers ed. and brad yeah that's what i meant - are they in the pipeline; just a little bit of nervousness about how quiet it has gone. Hopefully woodward has been taking tips from david gill!!!

4.) 28 Aug 2015 18:58:34
I hope not gill could never find any value in the market

I know we probably won't see movement from United in the next few weeks as LVG assesses the squad but just wondering if hummels is a realistic target or if it's just paper talk

sandfan2

16 Jul 2014 13:50:33
I know all the eds tend to dislike this sort of question but which CBs are united actually interested in? The usual names are being thrown around as well as the Dutch players. I expect van gaal wants to evaluate our current stock before making any moves but surely there must be some indication of targets?

sandfan2

1.) MU have an interest in Vermaelen, Hummels & De Vrij. But I imagine Hummels is the number one target.

2.) 16 Jul 2014 14:21:49
I have no ''sources'' and it's purely my speculation but I think we will go in for De Vrji as 1 of 2 CB's if that helps?

I suppose depending on Vidal, if we miss out, we might splash cash on Hummels but if we sign Vidal, Vermaelen as a cheap alternative. Can't see us spending close to £30Million on each of Shaw, Herrera, Vidal and Hummels.

3.) Well we might just do it ports maybe just

4.) I have thought all along that Vermaelen is purely a back up for Hummels. De Vrij may be a target in his own right though.

5.) Hummels would be main target for left side with Vermarlen back up/more realistic. De Vrijwould be my choice if we also want a right sided pplayer. he looked very assured in the WC and Van Gaal knows all about him.
For me it would then allow for 1 of Smalling/Evans/Jones to depart with my choice Smalling (yes I know some on here like him, just for me I would sooner the other 2)

6.) Not sure I agree.
If we sign Hummels+De Vrij and have only 2 of Evans/Jones/Smalling, we'd be one big injury to Hummels or De Vrij away from being left with 1 established CB. Also doesn't leave LVG many options if he wanted to play 3 CB at the back on occasion.

7.) Juice, historically we have only ever had 4 main centre backs in the 25 man squad. Remember we are able to select under 21s so could bring Keane in if needed.
Also, I think Carrick will have a part to play if we do switch to a back 3.for me he is possibly more suited to the centre position of a back 3 than any of our current centre backs.
Also, I think this set up will not be used too often and more as an option against certain teams. just my thoughts

15 Jul 2014 17:21:26
Just wondering about the Vidal deal, is it a case that juve are refusing to sell outright or are they just overpricing him and united are attempting to haggle down. Also, are you aware if there is a max limit that utd are willing to spend

sandfan2

1.) 16 Jul 2014 07:21:00
Its fairly obvious Manchester United want to pay as little as possible (without losing the player, I hope) and Juve want as much as possible. It was reported early on that Juve were hoping for a bidding war for Vidal which, as yet at least, doesn't seem to have materialised. Some, usually, reliable sources are still saying negotiations are continuing and we are hopeful of getting him.

I think most of us are happy with the players we brought in (even martial it's mainly the price that concerns the doubters) but we're all just concerned about the depth of the squad. I think if we had brought in just one CB (I would have liked Laporte as he fits the LVG left footed requirement and is much better than rojo) then we could have looked back on the window and said we did well. It must be said that the players we have now are all capable of playing a number of positions, but even 3 injuries could translate to us as a crisis

sandfan2

{Ed002's Note - It is not just the price with Martial, I recall after the match last year team mates complaining that he lost the ball too much as he didn't realise that he wasn't able to get past players but kept trying to do so. It is still a pretty much raw talent. Where he will be played is also yet to be seen.}

I will admit I am panicking far more than usual. I was fairly calm yesterday morning but with more outgoings than incomings in the last day or two I feel it is justified. The only reasonable explanation is that LVG plans on handing out a few debuts this season - which I am really excited about I must say - but with all our rivals strengthening considerably it can't be denied that we could be in for a very. blunt. season

a few injuries meaning more than 1. and with the perenially injured Phil Jones in the squad I hope we have some class academy graduates ready to make the step up.
