Rumours circulating that a bid of £90m (€98m) has been rejected by Dortmund for Jadon Sancho. This was reported by Bild. Any idea whether this is true? Would also like to know any posters opinions on the potential signing, I'm a Liverpool fan but want to see what you all think of the player.

we have needed a right winger for years. signing Sancho would add somthing we have missed,

would also add a different threat to our play,

the money is high but i suppose to pay what the selling club feels or you don't get the player

he would massively improve us.

Sancho is a great player with huge potential, he is also English so he will cost a fortune. Only 5 players in Europe's top five leagues have had a hand in more league goals this season than Sancho (goals and assists), with Messi, Ronaldo and Lewandowski among them. Considering he has only recently turned 20 shows just how high his ceiling is.

That said, the 100m asking price is high, and I don't see Dortmund budging. Spending that much money who is likely 5-6 years away from his peak is questionable. But if the club wants him and can afford him then fine.

Personally I'd be looking at cheaper options as I see this squad as needing 3 or 4 players this summer and another 2 or 3 next summer depending on who steps up and how some of our younger players do.

for me we need to keep going in the right direction.

transfer wise we have had a great 2 windows for me.

the best in a while.

everyone has improved us

james has been inconsistent but he was threw into the team when he wasnt expected to be played so much.

I think it’s how we invest the available money to improve the squad as a whole. There isn’t a endless pot of money, especially in times like this. We need a CB, midfield cover for Bruno and RF all in equal measure.

5.) 27 Jul 2020 14:30:45
I feel it's worth paying a high fee for Sancho.
Mainly because it would solve the RW problem for a decade.

He can also play on the left as well. That versatility will be useful while rotating the squad.

6.) 27 Jul 2020 16:07:41
Do you really think we would offer that much as an opening offer? So no, it’s not true.

7.) 27 Jul 2020 16:13:38
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but Ismaila Sarr has really stood out these past few nonths, even in a poor team. Think it was Gary Neville who suggested him for United as an alternative to Sancho.

8.) 27 Jul 2020 16:25:49
If we can spend £80m on Maguire, I see no reason why we can’t spend £120m on Sancho. Sancho is already a far superior player and will only get better.

From a fan’s perspective, I see it as being a case of it not being my money and money that, in all likelihood, would not be spent strengthening the squad if we were to purchase a cheaper option.

9.) 27 Jul 2020 17:40:14
I think it’s because we shouldn’t have spent £80m on mcguire.

10.) 27 Jul 2020 17:57:18
Thinking we should not purchase him as we're better off spreading those funds out to get more players is a terrible approach imo. That's how you end up with a squad full of players who aren't good enough. Look what one top tier signing did for us this season? If we bought 2 good but not great midfielders instead of Bruno do you think we would have achieved what we have?

11.) 27 Jul 2020 22:55:41
I'm unsure about him, both Kagawa and Mkhitaryan had great stats at Dortmund and they didn't do too good with us. If I remember correctly Kagawa had the highest combined goals/ assists in Germany the season before he joined, and Mkhi couldn't have been far off.

12.) 28 Jul 2020 06:52:10
LLV, On the other hand, De Bruyne and Aubameyang had good stats in Germany. And they are replicating the same in EPL.

I can't help hearing the statement from the Eds from previous windows. stop worrying about how much money a player is. Do we need Sancho - yes we do, Does Olly want Sancho - it would appear so. let's hope Woodward does not mess it up.

Yeah Fireman I agree on DDG. He was absolutely world class a few seasons back. The best GK in the world for a time without a doubt.

Whilst I think he is a good shot-stopper I think this season has even seen this wane slightly. His passing is also really poor and has led to quite a few moments where you've conceded from it (it was ludicrous in the Sevilla game) .

A modern GK is essential now. De Gea is a great traditional GK but really lacks in terms of high claims, commanding his box (eg coming off his line) and his overall distribution. I think Costa would be a decent pick up, but having watched him I remain largely unconvinced. He's rash at the best of times and has had some really horrible performances in the UCL. Perhaps this is because he's young? Raya would be my choice and, if you can afford it, Maignan would be the perfect GK pick-up.

Liverpool fan in peace here. Always interesting to see what other fans think about players and respective signings.

I honestly do think Mac Allister is a very good player BUT I don't think he would work in every team. I think for us (Liverpool) he will be excellent as he fits the bill as to what we need. High energy, technically impressive and rarely ever loses the ball. We've missed that since Wijnaldum has left. I feel though he needs to have a fellow combative midfielder as, in-spite of him being good defensively, he doesn't quite have the pace/ speed to effectively cover large areas of the pitch.

I think he would be effective for Man United too, but that depends on your tactics going forwards. If you're looking at a more attacking midfielder I think Mount would make far more sense than Mac Allister who has practically dropped into the No8 role and has found himself playing deeper under De Zerbi. If you want someone to keep possession with a good passing range then Mac Allister is the better option. Completely different players imo.

For Man United personally I would snap up Mount and then focus on a good forward and GK. I think GK is a position where you really need to invest. De Gea is really poor.

Pogba world class? Maybe 4 times a year.
