Ed is it true that we are interested in Peter Cech as a replacement for David De Gea

jshoko2009

{Ed004's Note - There probably is interest but it'll never happen}

1.) 16 May 2015 22:03:23
What makes you think it will never happen Ed, if we have interest and surely he's moving this season, thanks for your insight.

{Ed004's Note - Because there will be a lot of interested clubs and Chelsea will not want to sell him to a direct rival}

2.) 16 May 2015 22:16:38
Ok cheers Ed. Hope your wrong but I suspect you won't be. He would be the perfect replacement though.

3.) 17 May 2015 01:32:06
Perfect replacement? De Gea is 24 and Cech is 32. Not exactly perfect.

4.) 17 May 2015 10:01:12
Any particular reason why? Jose loves us!

5.) 17 May 2015 14:42:47
Age is irrelevant Minister, just look back at Van De Sar.

I understand our interest in Vidal, Di Maria and Hummels is very serious with Vidal's deal very close and £48m bid for Di Maria submitted.
Another is we were also looking at Enzo Perez but nothing concrete said or decided, then expect Vriij, Blind and Vermaelen to sign too

jshoko2009

{Ed004's Note - so how many signings you expecting manutd to make?}

1.) So basically every player that's been mentioned by the press, you've copied and pasted on your post?

2.) We will not bid 48 million for di maria are you serious haha

3.) 10 Jul 2014 06:33:00
Mats Hummels, Juan Cuadrado, Arturo Vidal and I would be happy with our squad

4.) Not a chance. Look how long it took Woodward to get the Herrera deal done. LVG will be lucky to get this many players during his 3 year contract. Having said that, Di Maria, Vidal and Hummels = £120 mil Shaw and Herrera = £60 mil If we have got the reported £200 million kitty then you never know!

5.) You understand the interest is very serious in those players?

Roughly translates to ' you read the newspapers like everyone else'

Don't pretend you have some insider knowledge. The papers will print anything to ensure they sell!

jose mourinho has a lot of stars who want to play for him and that's our advantage if we sign him. Morata;Varane;Griezeman;Matic;Jao Mario;Rafa Silva;Ibrahimovic;James Rodriguez when people like LVG are taking us down. But one thing for sure the glazers and woodward love and care all about money and not the club and appointing Mourinho means more money through more shirt sales;ticket sales and attendances;attraction of investiments and sponsorship so i don't see lvg surviving this time even if he wins the fa cup and gets into top 4.

can't wait to see this page come july if the special one is elsewhere.

28 Apr 2016 23:21:14
If there is a player I dream joins us even though we have no interest in him is Wijnaldum of Newcastle, and then add a CB, Stones/ Laporte, a speedy right winger Mane/ and 1 additional striker or else our team is okay, LVG is the one who was deluded by playing our stars in the wrong positions, lol imagine Young striker, Right back.

jshoko2009

1.) 29 Apr 2016 00:13:01
If we want to get back we were then we shouldn't be looking at average players like mane.

2.) 29 Apr 2016 07:56:36
You dream of us buying Wijnaldum?

3.) 29 Apr 2016 08:38:09
Dreaming of buying a guy who's played in fits and starts, for a team deep in relegation trouble.

How low our sights and expectations have been set : (

4.) 29 Apr 2016 09:23:27
Wijanldum did used to be good on Football Manager about 5 years ago to be fair, right, left and centre attacking midfielder, very useful to have, though anybody who has seem him play (when he gets a game) at Newcastle will realise he never quite kicked on to be the player the makers of that game thought he would be.

5.) 29 Apr 2016 15:40:45
Next year, ddg will be playing centre forward if lvg stays.

20 Nov 2015 13:08:20
january transfers i desire we bring Stones
Mane/Robben
Ayoze Perez/Vardy

at least let's get players who aren't cup tied the champions league and who would push us for our quest for the league title.

jshoko2009

1.) 20 Nov 2015 13:29:05
Last summer not one person would have wanted us to sign Vardy. 12 games in this year and suddenly he's a United player? He's had a good run yes, but you can't tell me you think he's good enough to lead our line long term? MOTD fever at its best.

2.) 20 Nov 2015 13:51:59
Stand,

Haven't you heard, he is better than Rooney, can't believe our scouts didn't spot him 8 years ago to be honest. Ayoze Perez as well, are we joking about now?

Stones and Robben / Mane would be a great window but as with every January I go into it expecting nothing because that is generally what we get, it is hard to buy players for a number of reasons, mainly because teams do not want to sell their best players in this window, and that is the level we would be after.

3.) 20 Nov 2015 14:56:29
I actually like Perez lol he was Newcastles shining light last season in what was a poor season.

4.) 20 Nov 2015 15:05:35
Perez has potential but I wouldn't be that bothered either way. To be honest I wouldn't turn down Mario Gomez, an experienced goal scorer who is familar with LVG and his methods - we could do worse as a back up option.

No way do I want Vardy. He is in a purple patch, not exactly the player we really need.

Robben I think is a no-brainer for January if at all possible. The one thing I don't like about Mane is that he will go the AFCON and won't be available.

5.) 20 Nov 2015 15:44:46
I find it almost literally unbelievable that people would want us to sign Jamie vardy.

6.) 20 Nov 2015 15:51:37
think i would rather play fellaini up top than gomez

berahino, mane and stones for me.

7.) 20 Nov 2015 16:10:43
Fresh, is AFCON happening in January? Is the tournament played every year? I hate it when people use AFCON as an excuse.

8.) 20 Nov 2015 16:35:44
Robben and Stones are the only two worth bothering with.

9.) 20 Nov 2015 16:53:05
I think if we sign anyone in January it'll be obvious names like robben or martins indi or less obvious we haven't thought of.

{Ed002's Note - You are right, if anything happens it will be either the obvious or less obvious.}

10.) 20 Nov 2015 17:51:37
People that disagree you seriously think Perez, Mane and Vardy are the answer? pffhh.

11.) 20 Nov 2015 17:58:25
I meant not the ones that people are talking about like stones etc.

12.) 20 Nov 2015 18:11:47
beast
i think mane is .
good player imo, only 23 as well.

13.) 20 Nov 2015 19:14:23
That's the problem, vardy scores in 9 matches, terrorises defenders, rips our team to shreds last year and because he's not playing for one of the top teams, then he's obviously a fluke!
He's miles better than anothing ineffective Rooney. I'll go as far as saying if we buy Vardy and Robben, then we'll win the league, injuries permitting.
So please stop underestimating other players. It is that attitude that will get us into trouble.

14.) 20 Nov 2015 19:33:36
sch
vardy scored 5 goals last season.
on this site you go from hero to zero in a couple of games and vice versa .
people wanted to spend 50 mill on kane last year.

15.) 20 Nov 2015 19:48:08
I'd still buy Kane. He would pull up trees at Utd.

Vardy would be an improvement on Rooney for me, but we need better than him hence I wouldn't waste the money. Austin would be an improvement on Rooney as well, as would Berahino. Still I wouldn't buy them for Man Utd.

16.) 20 Nov 2015 20:05:50
beast
i don't see the big deal with kane decent player, but nothing great to his game and 50 mill?
but each to there own i didn't rate welbeck either.
vardy has had a great 12 games, leicester have played some great stuff 25 goals in 12 games, but i'm not sure he is a great player ( more to his game than kane tho ) .

i still rate berahino best of the lot tho, i think there is a good chance he will leave in jan as well.

17.) 20 Nov 2015 17:21:27
Brilliant banter Ed.

18.) 21 Nov 2015 07:39:36
Perez has far more potential than Vardy imo. Vardy is playing well in a team that is exceeding expectations, Perez is playing well in a team that is floundering badly. He's also 6 years younger than Vardy.

I like him, pacy, tecnically sound, intelligent and clinical in front of goal. I wouldn't be gutted if we signed Perez in January and loaned out Wilson.

As for a wide player i'm stuggling to see any better than Mane for us atm. Whether we can get him in January though is another matter.

18 nov 2015 10:22:36
i wouldn't mind a cb [laporte];a winger [feghouli/robben];and a striker [vardy/ayoze perez] in january and then go all out for ronaldo or bale in summer.

jshoko2009

1.) 18 Nov 2015 11:11:26
Mane!

2.) 18 Nov 2015 12:09:42
Robben in January for the immmediate impact he would bring . Then Ronaldo and Stones in the summer. That would I've us an incredibly complete squad.

3.) 18 Nov 2015 13:45:45
Robben and Ronaldo, whilst I agree they would be good additions for the second half of the season. From a mid to long term point of view they would be terrible. For the following reasons
1) Both on huge money
2) Both showing signs of decline
3) Both showing signs of wear and tear in the form of injuries and niggles
4) they would want a decent length contract meaning you are stuck with them due to salary (see Rooney)
5) it would put the development of Memphis and others back substantially.
6) Only a very short term fix, you find yourself in a year or so needing to go buy again
7) Sends a bad message to prospective purchases, we are seen as a club where a young talented player can come and shine at the moment.

I think we need to be looking further ahead with our transfer strategy, buts that's just my opinion. Footballs a resilts game and they (Robben ronaldo) would give you a good 16/17 potentially.

4.) 18 Nov 2015 15:22:07
Robben for the next 18 months as his purchase price is not extortionate. If he can stay fit it would give us an edge. Ronaldo. heart says yes head says no as we need to spend that money elsewhere. Bale/griezman would be better options.
CD would be Stones for me. was not
sure but this season he looks brilliant aand alongside an ever Improving Mike Smalling I think it could be a strong pairing for years to come.

5.) 18 Nov 2015 15:58:00
I agree with Brad. Robben is precisely what we need, some solid consistency for 18 months, then ship him and Schweiny to the USA.

Stones number 1 signing in the summer.

I'd sell Januzaj and I would bring in Bale or Griezmann as well.

Woody says we have the cash, let's do it.

6.) 18 Nov 2015 18:02:42
Griezmann for me. Stones or Laporte.

7.) 20 Nov 2015 08:33:16
I'm starting to believe this neymar hype.
I'm setting myself up for disappointment.

Oh, i wouldn't exactly mind getting Robben in January. seriously guys.

26 Jun 2015 23:31:06
I don't think we will be signing any right back but 2 centre backs Ramos and Otamendi with Smalling taking the right back and Rafael coming in as cover. But I believe no goal keeper would be signed too as we already have Valdes; Linderguard and Johnstone; and I'm seeing a situation we complete our transfer window with 2 midfielders b4 pre season that's Scheiderline and Schweinsteiger and we maintain our strikers RVP, Rooney, Wilson and then giving Chicharito/Henriquez another chance and be a 4th striker. Nani will be sold abd several young stars will be sold and this is also Sndrea Pereirra's season
