Ed002, with reports of United looking for 3 major signings in the summer.
What are the odds those 3 are:

Jadon Sancho (£100m)
Jack Grealish (£60m)
Timo Werner (£50m Release Clause)

Other options would be Moussa Dembele and James Maddison.

Obviously this is before any outgoings which is looking like Pogba then a Cm is needed as well.

Any news regarding those 3 major signings?

Andy H

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of the club stating that they will be making three "major transfers" this summer and I certainly cannot give you odds on all of these players signing I am afraid. As for the news about these three players, I would not expect Jadon Sancho to join Manchester United although they are keen - he will move in the summer but I would not hold your breath it will be to Manchester. Jack Grealish remains viable for Manchester United as he can play on the left and in a more attacking role - Aston Villa will need to let him go if relegated and have an FFP issue that could manifest itself as early as this coming summer - MU may well look to exploit that as he offers something different to Bruno Fernandes and other options are off the table. UNless there has been a change of heart, Manchester United's interest in Timo Werner has gone - release clauses are not relevant.}

Thanks fir info Ed002.

Guessing Sanch more likely to go to Chelsea.

2.) 12 Feb 2020 11:38:19
Hopefully the club have a fallback option for the RW position.

another season of fudging with mata, james, pereira and lingard would be another season wasted.

3.) 12 Feb 2020 12:05:20
Re Timo Werner I have seen lots of reports that if he is going to come to England it will be to Liverpool who have made contact. No idea how true this is but this is a rumour site.

{Ed002's Note - There is no agreement for him to join any side.}

4.) 12 Feb 2020 16:06:09
Werner will surely go to Bayern? Him Havertz and Sane look like their main targets.

5.) 13 Feb 2020 04:44:37
Lewandowski still doesn't look like slowing down. So Werner moving to Bayern wouldn't make him a automatic starter possibly.

Also, if we go in for Grealish, I believe he may operate more advanced in a 3 man midfield alongside Bruno and McTominay.

Finally, if Sancho and Ziyech are striked off our list, I'm not sure who will be the ideal target for the RW role.

6.) 13 Feb 2020 08:41:51
Where does Jude Bellingham play exactly?

7.) 13 Feb 2020 09:46:49
Welsh, at St Andrews every other week😂

On a serious note he is still very young and his final position might change. He has played as a holding midfielder, box to box, attacking midfielder and on the wings. He might have even played a game or two just off the striker. I think long term he'll be a No.8, all action midfielder who pushes forward and scores and assists goals.

Similar to Bruno Fernandes, could eventually be his successor given that he is 10 years his junior. But Jude needs to be playing to progress. With Garner in our squad I'm not convinced that we need a player like Bellingham.

There are good updates from Ed002 regarding Sancho on European page and why it will be difficult to sign him (notably utd) .

Here is some interesting stats for you. They are all taken from League Games. It is clear to see that the United midfield is a big problem. In a lot of areas it struggles especially Protection to defence, Creativity and Goals!
Michael Carrick: Games:16 Goals:0 Assists:0
Tom Cleverley: Games:18 Goals:1 Assists:0
Ryan Giggs: Games:10 Goals:0Assists:0
Darren Fletcher: Games:4 Goals:0 Assists:0
Marouane Fellaini: Games:11 Goals:0 Assists:0
Antonio Valencia: Games:20 Goals:2 Assists:2
Ashley Young: Games:13 Goals:2 Assists:0
Nani: Games:8 Goals:0 Assists:0
Adnan Januzaj: Games:17 Goals:3 Assists:2
Shinji Kagawa: Games:9 Goals:0 Assists:0
I excluded Juan Mata as he just signed but it is worth mentioning he has 2 assists which has equaled already are best after only 2 games.
Man Uniteds whole midfield together has Goals:9 Assists:4. Now if you look at the list below of some of the players we try'd to sign or were linked with you will see there League stats for there clubs. Arturo Vidal has more Goals and Assists on his own than the whole United Midfield.
(Centre Mids)
Arturo Vidal: Games:22 Goals:11 Assists:6
Paul Pogba: Games:22 Goals:6 Assists:7
Koke: Games:22 Goals:4 Assists:10
Ander Herrera: Games:18 Goals:2 Assists:3
Kevin Strootman: Games:20 Goals:5 Assists:6
Toni Kroos: Games:18 Goals:1 Assists:3
Thiago: Games:9 Goals:1 Assists:3
William Carvalho: Games:17 Goals:2 Assists:0
Ivan Rakitic: Games: Goals:10 Assists:9
Axel Witsel: Games:19 Goals:2 Assists:1
Cesc Fabregas: Games:21 Goals:7 Assists:15
Fredy Guarín: Games:19 Goals:3 Assists:7
(Attacking Mids)
Antoine Griezmann: Games:20 Goals:14 Assists:2
Marco Reus: Games:19 Goals:8 Assists:7
Lucas Moura: Games:21 Goals:3 Assists:9
Everton Ribeiro: Games:35 Goals:7 Assists:13
Adam Lallana: Games:24 Goals:7 Assists:6
Rémy Cabella: Games:22 Goals:8 Assists:6
Ryan Gauld: Games:21 Goals:5 Assists:7
Wesley Sneijder: Games:14 Goals:8 Assists:2

Man United need atleast 2 from each list in the summer to challenge next season!

Andy H

{Ed004's Note - In all honesty I'm hoping to see 3 players signed from those lists. In an ideal world Vidal along with Kroos/Gundogan/Koke/Herrera (that order) and Marco Reus or Griezman. Play those 3 along with Mata and Rooney and that is a lot more goals and assists. If Rooney leaves though one more will be needed IMO}

1.) Yikes ugly stats.

Someone should dig up our stats when it comes to defending set pieces, I would imagine we are one of the worse teams in the league the last 2 years.

I would also bet we must have the least number of shot attempts by midfielders and worse on target percentages.

All in all a midfield that is a fit for a team outside the top ten and not one of the biggest clubs on the planet. Quite embarrassing how low we have gone and allowed it to fester to this point.

2.) GCU
it just needs a bit of confidence, that's a title winning midfield

3.) Ed004

Herrera is better than Koke IMO and maybe even the best of the group you have listed if we are looking for someone who can play as a box to box.

The critics will say he does nto have a great shot which is true and kroos would be better from that aspect.

Sami Khedira has confirmed that Real Madrid turned down Manchester United's €40 million offer for him before the transfer window closed.

What is going on at Man Utd. Khedira is not worth £34m(€40 million). Woodward left it to late and desperate bids where thrown around. {Ed044's Note - There numbers are wrong but there was a bid.}

If Manchester United and Real Madrid both had the same bid accepted by Tottenham.
Who do you think Bale would prefer to join?

Andy H

1.) It's an irrelevant question. As much as I'd live to see him in red, united won't be able to compete with Madrid's offer.

Matt

2.) Maybe United because it'd be easier to settle, he doesn't have to learn a new language, and he's already used to the premier league.

3.) Utd, from wot I've been told bale was keen on the rumours linking him to us

4.) He isn't interested in joining united it's stay where he is or its madrid

Delighted to see Adnan Januzaj starting vs Singha All Star XI in 1st pre season game.
Lets hope he has some part to play this season as 18-21 is the most important time for developing a player!
Also Zaha has been given the number 29

If rumours are true about Manchester United having £60m transfer budget I see a summer of
In:
Strootman: £10-12m
Garay: £15-17m
Thiago: £15.4m Release Clause
Baines: £12-15m
= £52. 4 to £59.4m

With the signing of Baines this should mean the end for Evra.
Out:
Scholes: Retired
Evra: £5-10m
Nani: £8.5m
Bebe: £1-2m
Macheda: £1-2.5m
= £15. 5 to £23m

Also Possibly Outs:
Lindegaard: £2-4m or Amos: £0.5m
Fabio: £4-6m
Anderson: £5-10m
Rooney: £25-30m
Darren Fletcher: Retire?

If Rooney is sold there would be a replacement bought number 1 target would be Lewandowski £25m

Andy H

1.) Ins: Varela, Zaha, Strootman, Garay, Baines, Thiago, Ronaldo.

Out: Evra, Anderson, Nani, Bebe, Macheda, Rooney.

2.) Fresh if you are right, I will be very happy.

Brendan81

3.) Fresh

It would be exciting but I just can't see 7 players arriving in 1 window, and not so many who would expect to play regularly

4.) AJH, i'd say only Baines, Strootman, Thiago and Ronaldo would be expecting very regular starts. Garay will know he will swap and change with Rio next season before taking over from him in 2014/15. Zaha will get some starts but won't be expecting to start all games and Varela will go into the U21's I would think.

It could happen but I don't think it will unfortunately, it would be hugely exciting though I agree.
