Hope everyone like myself has managed to cool off after watching the game yesterday. Very humbling after the usual excitement going into a season expecting change and getting the same timid displays.

I know matic and martial have very rightfully gotten a lot of stick for their performances because they fell way short of what's needed yesterday. But I feel AWB was just as bad and I for one was dubious about bringing trippier in but my god he would be a huge improvement. Wether it's his fault or a lack of coaching I wouldn't know but he just fails to improve on the ball and going forward every year.

I did mention on the match posts though it's nice to see some threat from set pieced this year. I know it's only 2 games in but there are genuine chances being created from set pieces which I haven't seen at United for many a year. Silver linings and all that ey.

Shaw delivery from set pieces is pretty good pigba or mayic should of converted one of them.

Shaw has really come back strong and is probably the most improved player of the lot.

He's been impressive and although he has the tendency to switch off at times in defensive areas there is a overall marked improvement in his all round game.

Set piece delivery was decent yesterday we should have died early grim pogba or martial. And we looked ok defending them too.

I posted similar about awb yesterday. He's useful but the price we paid and his lack of ability to bomb on and contribute is certainly frustrating. Best one on one defender in the league IMO as a wing back but shocking going forward. I too was against trippier purely on the fees quoted but I do think we need a more attacking minded full back down the right. I'm not sure Dalot is the one but he got to be worth a chance surely. Was very highly rated when we signed him.

Hope everyone is keeping safe and pumped for the new season! Long time reader of the site, never been a poster but figured I'd reach out.
As somebody who has moved gradually further away from Manchester I've gotten to less games over the years and it's been far too long! I'm dragging the missus up for the weekend on the train for the weekend for the Leeds game. Wondered where the best places are to grab a pint pre game nowadays? Bearing in mind it is with my missus 😂

Eds I hope it goes without saying but the graft you lot do on here is second to none! Hats off to you all, much appreciated.

The Bishops will always be a place to go for some pre game atmosphere. The Trafford used to be good, last couple of times not so great.

With your mrs you might be better going to media city, especially if you’re getting the tram in, lime bar or the dockyard usually have a lot of fans in before the game and it’s not too rowdy. It’s a 12:30 kick off so probably won’t be too much going on, when it’s a late kick off they are always full of people watching the earlier games.

Fred has been awful but our shiny new signings both look like they’re in a pre season game aswell.

Pogba can’t play in the middle anymore Fred isn’t good enough to do the work of 2 men in there when PP goes on a wander.

I agree we have been awful but to single Fred out as a bad player is just jumping on the bandwagon, none of them are getting near wolves and we are being outplayed all over the pitch.

Very lucky to be 0-0 at half time.

In a similar position to yourself being a newcomer and I agree with a lot your post.

We have tried the quick fix route with Mourinho and to an extent van gaal, I think people have quickly forgotten just how bad it was to watch and be a part of the fan base at that time especially with LVG’s ‘philosophy’ of boring anti-football.

We have made 2 world class signings and our squad is miles ahead of where it was when ole took over, whether that’s all down to him or not I’m positive he will of had a say in a lot of the decisions. The club is moving forward for the first time since sir Alex left and maybe ole isn’t the one to take us to that next level. But he is playing a huge part in making sure the squad and club all round is in a better place for whoever comes in after him.

I know football fans love to moan but there are positives to be found, we have to realise that we are United and have always done things the hard way. Just means it’ll feel that much better when it all falls into place!
