Ed is there any truth in the rumour that Sanchez isn't happy with life at United and some at the club aren't happy with his attitude.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

{Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of. He is unhappy with his form.}

Tattoo. Without Ibra, s contribution last season, We would have won naff all. Pleasure to see him play at OT . Wish we could have got him 5 years earlier.
Good luck to him I say.

Anyone else think the timings convenient? Hasn’t won the Champions League in his career and a week after we go out he’s off. Maybe just coincidence but who knows. Was a pleasure watching him last season. Fair enough this season was a disaster for him but for some it may have clouded over their memory from the season before. L To get 28 goals and not even finish out the season at 35 is testimont to him. Wish him the best of luck in the future.

Ibra was only a success last season because he was made the focal point of the team at others expense, he slowed everything down and has hindered the teams progress into this season. I thank him for his contribution but we will be better off without him. I also don't buy in to the Jose / Ibra love in, where is it now?

Ed have we moved ahead of Man city in race for Fred?

I thought he was Man city bound.

Here's a question. If, and it's a very big if, Mourinho was to leave the club. Would anyone think of Zidane as the next coach of our team?
I take all the nonsense in the media with a pinch of salt when it comes to Pogba and Shaw falling out daily with Mourinho, but there is definitely something amiss at the moment. Hopefully it's Jose's tough love and the players pull their socks up and get on with the remainder of the season.

I do feel though that the board and senior figures will soon get tired of the Mourinho circus if results don't change.
That's where Zidane comes into it. There's a massive possibility he will lose his job at Real in the summer which is a shame as he's won the CL twice in his short managerial career. The most obvious option would be for him to join PSG but I would certainly take a gamble on him IF Jose were to go and Zidane became available.

I'd really like this option. There are several French speaking players in the squad and I'm sure he'll quick be an inspiration to them. He seems like a decent enough guy too from the interviews I've seen.

At least Zidane won't be afraid to 'butt heads' with the big boys in the team. A few ego's need reining in imo.

22 Mar 2018 12:34:04
Love Zidane as a player and would have been an honour to have him playing for united. But I’m not too sure about his managerial capabilities. I think his biggest strength actually appears to be man management of egos in that real squad, and keeping the players happy. He has a fantastic squad at his disposal. However, he does seem to know how to get the best out of the players so that is a positive. I have to disagree there beast on Zidane reining in egos. This is exactly what Jose is doing now and he is being criticised so what makes Zidane doing it any different? I’m not advocating what Jose does as I do not believe he is right for us. But isn’t it a bit ridiculous to want Zidane to butt head
s with the egos in the squad when Jose is doing the same but yet criticised for it?

Hi Eds - Just wondering if Utd are still interested in Carlos Soler and if you can shed any light on a potential deal?

{Ed002's Note - There is interest but Valencia are not keen to sell.}

20 Mar 2018 08:01:42
Ed002, awhile back there was reports United was interested in another Valencia player, Jose Gaya. Is there any interest there is was it just click bait?

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - JM was interested when he was at Chelsea, but I gues MU might add him to the list of LBs they are interested in.}

20 Mar 2018 17:55:07
Ed002, if you don't mind who is on that list of LB's and will Shaw move on in the summer? Cheers.

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed - if Mourinho were to leave maybe Shaw will stay but right now he wants him gone and would like one of the following:
Danny Rose (LB)
Aaron Martin (LB)
Alex Sandro (LB) - I would strike him from the list now but don't be surprised if he reappears - it all depends on a player at another club
Philipp Max (LB)}

Wow a mental day in the press. ‘Jose to let 11 first team player go’, there’s claims of bullying claims the board are getting annoyed by Shaws treatment. Flying high after the Liverpool win, absolutely hammered in the press since the Seville loss. What a difference a week makes in football, it’s crazy.

Amidst all the questioning going on, i ask myself where would we be in the league without DDG and where might we end up next season if he leaves? The truthful answers tell us how crap the team is (as a team rather than as a group of individuals) .

I have always thought JM would not make a massive difference until next season. My problem is that that I no longer see much happening next season. We bumble on from week to week with no logical progression, dropping players who perform well or moving them to less effective positions.

Either the tactics are wrong (Jose's fault), the players do not carry out instructions (Jose's explanation) and/ or there is a big relationship problem between manager and players. At the moment I don't see a lot of light at the end of the tunnel. Either there is none or the tunnel is very long.

How much the board give jose to spend this summer will indicate how much they're still with his vision, but if some big names scarper off double quick lively then that'll make it an even harder sell, so we're going to see if being a devisive boss will swing potential deals or not, to quote a previous manager-'would you bet against us? '

Agree0 0Disagree

19 Mar 2018 13:59:05
Romero has played all 4 games in the cup and not conceded a goal, perhaps the way we set up allows the opposition to have lots of shots but many of them are quite easily saved by the keeper.

We wouldn't replace DDG with nobody, we would have a top keeper still playing for us,

Definitely in the minority here but i don't think De Gea has lived up to his normal standards this season.

He was at fault for sevillas second goal and was shaky against liverpool not coming for balls that were clearly his. Still doesn't command his box from set pieces as much as youd expect the best goalkeeper to.

I would not mind if he left this summer, just for the fact it might improve the defence who might not rest on their laurels in the knowledge they have an excellent shot stopper behind them.

Agree1 9Disagree

20 Mar 2018 08:50:04
DSG, Fault prone so you're happy to see him go and yet so good the defence rest on their laurels? Make up your mind!
I haven't totted it up, but DDG must be responsible for a decent handful of our points.

Agree0 0Disagree

20 Mar 2018 21:26:45
Im not saying they are really good but that it must be tempting for them not to be fully concentrated at times safe in the knowledge they have a keeper who will bail them out most times.

Im am also not advocating selling him, just that if he wants to move to madrid, we should strike an amicable deal for his sake. No player is bigger than the club, especially a goalkeeper, no matter how amazing they are.

Agree0 0Disagree

21 Mar 2018 12:08:31
'especially a goalkeeper'. Not bigger than the club, mate, but crucial to a title-winning side. Look at the trouble we had finding a replacement for big Pete. City's new keeper has also been a vital cog in their machine, this season,

Heard that Martial wants to leave for Juventus. Don't know whether it's true or not but I think if any team offers what we paid for him ten we should sell him. There are many who will talk about his potential and stuff but without the right attitude potential is useless.
He has more potential than Rashford but I can guarantee that Rashford will be twice the player Martial would ever become. His link up play is not upto the standard and it's just sad to see him take on the defender on the wings. Everyone can see how easily Rashford can go past on the wings but Martial just runs into the player losing the ball. Rashford makes the opposition nervous with his pressing and you can even see someone his goals have come as a result of him never giving up.
Many will say he will be great under Pochetino or someone else. But can you guys actually see him succeeding under Pochetino or Klopp. They ask a lot from their players and Martial would just fail to deliver. Try to put him in a Spurs team and decide for yourself who will he replace in the front 4. I was very excited when he came and I hope he proves everyone wrong and becomes the best player in the world with us but I just don't understand what type of formation or playing style will suit him so that he can jump into that bracket of world class players.

Play Martial up top or sell him if we get what the board deem a suitable offer.

He’s a 1 in 5 player and that’s nit good enough at Utd despite his age. Rashford has more potential than Martial in my opinion. Not sure it needs to be one or the other though. I’d ditch Zlatan and give him a season rotating with Lukaku up front. However Maybe his sulky demeanour is just too much for Jose and he just doesn’t have what it takes.

18 Mar 2018 19:37:07
Ed002 confirmed that juve are in for him but we are a good bit apart from agreeing a fee.
I would be shocked or saddned if he left but it wouldn't shock me if he was kept to see if he can fulfill his potential and claim a regular place in the side. Have to say he is not my cup of tea.

18 Mar 2018 19:50:03
Zlatan was hardly there this season. He was just here to take some of the money Woodward had been getting in. Don't think Mou trusts Martial up top.

Agree1 1Disagree

18 Mar 2018 20:12:38
Other than it’s of pace, Rashford hasn’t actually shown that much quality. His composure and finishing Needs a lot of work, his runnning is the channels isn’t the best, and he makes the wrong decision very often. He has a game where he comes up against a poor full back and rinses him the whole game and people think he’s the best thing since sliced bread again. Martial has much more potential, the quality of his finishing etc is streets ahead of rashfords. He just needs to play regularly as a forward. Martial is NOT a winger.

Agree5 3Disagree

18 Mar 2018 20:35:40
Martial is just another example of a young player who needs to be playing in a team which plays to his strengths. He is really good but being played out on the left wing is not going to let his talent shine. Round pegs in round holes. He is going to be awesome if he gets a central attacking role and with a team playing fluent quick football. Not the slow slow pass it a million times we are apt to at the moment.

Agree1 1Disagree

19 Mar 2018 08:02:26
Under pochhetino martial would improve undoubtedly, a couple of years under poch and he would be at that hazard and sanchez (pre joining us) level. No reason why martial shouldn't be getting double figures in goals and assists every season.

Agree4 2Disagree

19 Mar 2018 10:41:25
If martial can't make it at united our coaching staff aren't fit for purpose. I agree martial is not a winger and should be playing as a striker eventually.

19 Mar 2018 13:11:23
Maybe, just maybe, we have paid over the odds for an overrated youngster who is also not fit for purpose?

Agree1 4Disagree

19 Mar 2018 16:47:17
Maybe just maybe he's played on the wings to develop his all round game and because the £75-90 million striker we have has bagged over 20 goals so far.

Maybe the Juve rumour has popped up because contract talks stalled. Not the first time its happened.

Agree1 0Disagree

19 Mar 2018 18:38:13
It’s all rather dull. If he’s sulking ship him out. If he’s angling for a striker position then prove you’re worth it there by smashing every single game you play and every training session there is.

I cannot abide maoning and sulking. Get your head down and prove you belong there. If not, au revoir.

I like Martial as a player, but can’t see him being a world beater I’m afraid.

Too many cruising in this squad for me and Martial is a prime culprit.

All this talk of Poch I don’t get. His team have shown absolutely zero aptitude when it comes to crunch games and pressure to win.

Maybe I’m just being grumpy still but back jose and his decisions or sack him now. If they want a yes man, Jose clearly not your man. The board have no place in making football decisions on team sheets and tactics.

Eric your talking sense my friend.

20 Mar 2018 15:40:33
Eric - When have united ever not paid over the odds?

I would say most people rate martial as a good player with potential to be even better. Wouldn't class that as overrated.

Even if you don't think he has potential to go to the next level he surely must be way down your list of united problems?
And surely he has been our best left sided attacker this season? So even if you think he hasn't been good enough often enough there's been plenty worse?

Your point about Jose I agree with. The board back him or sack him.

Anyways here's to next season quadruple.

17 Mar 2018 11:47:50
You make very valid points as always ed002.i guess i just don't want to see united lose martial as i like him a lot as a player and he's still very young. i just think replacing him with perisic or bale is madness with bale so injury prone and perisic hasn't been great either.

Do you think mourinho will get it right at united? we still need at least 4/ 5 players. i'm not mourinho out or anything and will back him. i just think players like martial/ rashford and most of the squad would flourish under somebody like pochettino.
Uniteds style football is atrocious and going out to sevilla the way we did was terrible.

{Ed002's Note - The issues that existed when JM first went to Manchester United remain unchanged to this day. To recap what I originally said: He doesn't see MU as a progressive club that will adapt to what he thinks they need - and that is a point he won't stop making. He doesn't like being in Manchester (and that hasn't changed) and there are those there who still see a blue tinge surrounding him (and both still do as I understand matters). There was a major error in taking on Ibrahimovich - it was disruptive with the kids (one specific issue had to be overcome) and he wanted to move elsewhere. I am rather surprised he has not announced his leaving just yet but if he were to stay until the summer the chances of him playing are remote for two reasons we don't need to go in to. Mkhitaryan was a disaster waiting to happen - so that has been fixed. Pogba's career belongs in Spain or Italy - certainly not Manchester (and perhaps I am not the only one who realises that now).
As for getting it right, I don't see Manchester United as a club dominating under Mourinho as he was able to do with other sides. There is the added complezxity of Manchester City, and the likes of Liverpool, Spurs and Chelsea are not far off being an issue for him. If he stays we will see.}

Hi Ed002, thank you so much for giving us your precious time to provide us info-hungry fans snippets of news about our beloved club!
Thus - and apologies if you can’t help, or feel that it’s irrelevant - don’t suppose you might enlighten us about which managers might have been discussed by the non-plussed Man Utd hierarchy should JM decide to leave please.

(And also any credence to the rumours that Pogba has been linked with Barcelona - and if this might happen. )

Thank you for any additional info!

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any recent discussions about replacements for the coach. As for Pogba, it would be fair to say that Mino has spoken with two clubs as far as I am aware but it may be more - but not Barcelona that I know of and I don't see them as a potentially interested club.}

Ed-have your anything about the rumour that jose is still interested
in seamus coleman and is having him watched to see if he can get back to where he was before the injury, i wouldn't be upset if that were to happen, he'd be a great signing and the type of player fit to wear the jersey, shades of dennis irwin about him, no nonsense, no dramas, just about the game first, nothing else.
