Im not impressed with the Spain team! They are really missing Iniesta and Xavi's influences?

Play it forward

1.) 20 Jun 2018 21:02:26
Yeah, they’re really missing Iniestia. His twin brother is really struggling to fill his shoes in this side.

2.) 20 Jun 2018 21:14:01
PIF did you watch the game? 😂😂😂.

3.) 20 Jun 2018 23:06:47
Yea of course i worded it wrong sorry

Meaning the link up play of Iniesta and Xavi as without Xavi there's no consistency.

4.) 20 Jun 2018 23:17:24
😂 I think the player they are missing most is David Silva to be honest, or Diego Costa, if they had someone like him up top they would have scored a few goals by now. And why is De Gea not playing in net? It’s crazy.

16 Jun 2018 21:35:33
It been said that Spain and Man utd Goalkeeper David DeGea may be suffering from Concussion after last night's 3-3 draw with Portugal.

Mr Hierro has told Reporters that during the game Sergio Ramos hand collided with DeGea causing what he suspects is mild Concussion

If test results come back posistive then it would explain the below average performance from a player once called the greatest inthe world.

1.) 16 Jun 2018 22:58:10
That ramos is a witch😀.

2.) 16 Jun 2018 17:48:39
Well done Boys.

3.) 16 Jun 2018 18:57:39
3-0 ken, we called the result before the young lads came on. Don't be so hard on yourself. Lol.

It's clear you taught Tom Daley everything he knows. Lol.

4.) 16 Jun 2018 19:14:39
😂😂😂 unlucky Ken. Your dive was top draw though. fell down in stages mate.

5.) 16 Jun 2018 19:51:37
I was assaulted.

6.) 16 Jun 2018 21:03:40
You lads were fantastic today. You'll have to get a few more of the United posters to come along next year. Huge shout out to Ken for buying one of the kits, but all 3 of you were top blokes.

I might come onto your pages a bit more often than I have though. I enjoy the banter too much!

7.) 16 Jun 2018 21:18:43
Fair play to all involved.

8.) 16 Jun 2018 21:34:45
Well dome boys. Will be joining you guys next year.

Shappy

Reg your Keane comment yes we learned to win without him but as clearly everyone else has said Keane would be first all day long in their team.

His drive and will to win were of no other! Could scholes do what Keane done not a hope and do you ever hear a bad word.

Reg the retirement issue Keane did not get a chance to we all know why as we enjoy our prawns.

I remember an aging Keane battle a prime viera in a cup game when Keane chased Viera up the wing with his hands flapping showing the keeper his hands where not on the player before making a brilliant tackle on Viera to gain possession

Scholes tried it and almost took the players legs off.

Lets just settle on Scholes for CAM and Keane on CDM because this is like saying vidic was beeter than van persie.

Play it forward

1.) 09 Jun 2018 14:05:54
Or alternatively you could just accept that Scholes was a better football player. Lol.

Keane was a great player in that era. However, he would be sent off every other week in today's game. He himself has admitted that during commentary. Scholes could grace the game in any era. He was the most talented British player of his generation.

Keane may well be your favourite, as he is for many people. But that doesn't make him a better player than Scholes.

Also Scholes never held the club to ransom, in fact he told them he had no interest in leaving unless the club wanted him gone. Scholes also didn't leave the club under a cloud.

I would go as far and say Scholes was the best player the club had during Sir Alex's time at the club.

2.) 09 Jun 2018 14:39:59
Oh my god, a world class player entering the final year of his contract wanted to get the highest possible wage. I’ll get the pitch forks and torches ready.

When people need to throw this type of stuff into debates, it has nothing to do with football.

3.) 09 Jun 2018 14:59:47
I love them both but I think Keane’s reputation was enhanced by a few spectacular events. Juve away, the Viera battles. He was a leader, he took no prisoners, and he set insanely high standards. However, the injuries took their toll and I don’t they no he stayed at his peak long enough. Great warrior and leader, but if I was looking at the players who made the most impact st Ynited in SAF! s reign, I can think of a few others ahead of him.

4.) 09 Jun 2018 15:20:42
Ajh your on the sauce again if you can think of a few better players than Keane under the alex era.
He was the driving force behind the team even fergie said he left him in charge of the dressing room,
I read there recently pique said his phone went off in the dressing room and he nearly shot himself cause Keane went off his head.
Ronaldo sees him at a game doing commentary and he goes straight over to Keane.
Ronaldo said he learnt from Keane work rate.
Give 100% or jog on.

5.) 09 Jun 2018 15:32:57
Leahy, as I said, he set incredibly high standards and was the leader, if we’re judging him against that criteria then there are none better. I was talking about him as a player, great as he was we have been blessed with many great players in the last 20 years.

6.) 09 Jun 2018 16:00:02
Comparing keane and scholes as players is impossible as they were so different.
As characters and their personalities were just as different.
However they did share certain personality traits. Will to winn work ethic high standards.
Both were great in their own way.
A fantastic partnership which was complimented by having lots of great players around them a fact bourne out by the team wining the cl final in 99 without either of them.
Both made a huge impact and a significant contribution to the teams success.
Technically scholes was fantastic keane had an aura about him that was just fearsome. Both consistently delivered for a sustained period both would be in my 11 out of fergies entire generation.

7.) 09 Jun 2018 15:57:54
None better than Keane. But I suppose it's whether you like Blondes vs Brunettes, or Boobies vs Butty, or parking the bus vs sacking the bus driver.

Put it this way, if I walked into a changing room with Keane in it I would up my game on the pitch and would push myself to the limit. That reason alone is why he is the best, he enabled others to thrive and thrived himself. Leader and seriously underestimated by most, would be worth £250m in this day and age (if allowed to play) .

8.) 09 Jun 2018 16:11:06
That was some midfield we had. Beckham in husband pomp, Keane, Scoles and Giggs.

9.) 09 Jun 2018 16:30:37
Keane a great captain. Never afraid to call his team mates out in public or in the press. Never afraid to call out the supporters in the press either or the club management. A great desire to win vindictive and immature at times a really bad loser. A win at all costs type of player some called him a bully. Its amazing he shares so many traits with our current manager.

10.) 09 Jun 2018 16:31:53
A great midfield butt was a fantastic cover man too AJH.

11.) 09 Jun 2018 16:40:23
Ajh we didn't know how lucky we were to watch them every week.

12.) 09 Jun 2018 17:03:33
Both unbelievable football players but Scholes nicks it for me. Superb close control and skill under pressure. Not much he couldn't do with the ball at his feet and just great to watch.

13.) 09 Jun 2018 17:36:32
Scholes for me, just.

14.) 09 Jun 2018 19:13:06
Ajh Leahy is was a great team but there was a good vibe around the place at the time . Happy days.

15.) 09 Jun 2018 19:24:44
I remember watching sky sports with Keane saying how much he loved Scholes a player., he talked about his passing his control his shooting but more than anything because he was nasty. Jeff shreeves went all politically correct and said no you mean he's aggressive. Keane went no he's nasty. Never forget that. Anyway both amazing but very different. Scholes for me though.

16.) 09 Jun 2018 23:04:05
The greatest lie ever told was by Scholes, people believed he couldn't tackle and he got away with murder. Half the time he knew exactly what he was doing 😂.

17.) 10 Jun 2018 02:28:50
That proves Keane wins hands down. :

Technically gifted don't win you games guys the desire and hunger do. as i have said

Scholes great at CAM and Keane CDM so the only real comparison is saying

Matic or Keane.

18.) 10 Jun 2018 03:11:16
Scholes for me. He's the player I've enjoyed watching the most out of any football ever (I'm 43). Just a joy to see on the pitch. He was like a chess player because he always knew where he was going to pass about 2 passes before he received the ball. He didn't even need to look where he was passing it; first time - ping. Amazing! I've never seen any other player play like this. It was off the hook.

In fact, here's a challenge. Can anyone name another player who could do this like Scholes?

19.) 10 Jun 2018 08:00:06
Mancman
Zidane.

20.) 10 Jun 2018 11:14:11
Iniesta.

21.) 10 Jun 2018 14:23:13
Xavi and pirlo as well. Privilege to have watched all 4 of them over the years. Not much around these days to compare.

22.) 10 Jun 2018 16:58:06
One of my favourite moments as a supporter, was taking my young lad to OT, and telling him, just watch Scholes, son. You'll never see another player as good in your life. And he was nearly 50 by then.

06 Jun 2018 03:11:28
We see it so often in football today, A player who was world class or almost at that level for his team! Get his big money move to a top club. The player then seems to regress and be half the player he was? Almost like he said to himself " I've got what i want big club, big wage, Wag and a hot model in the garage " i can stop trying or making the effort.

It can't be just me that views things like this and Alexis Sanchez springs to mind! He was awesome for the Gunners and that goal he scored against us still hurts! I ask myself. So where is this guy everytime he plays? Maybe its the team not playing to his abilities or is he just not putting the effort in.

Now this will never happen but would you agree to some sort of penalty against a Team, Player or Managers bad performances. I was thinking of this slogan

" A Positive Stat equals Negative Vat br stats lower than an 8 will see the taxman triple his rate "

Im sure that will get players playing out of their socks hitting them in their pockets.

Play it forward

1.) 06 Jun 2018 06:33:28
Sanchez has played for Barcelona and Arsenal who are both pretty big clubs so I’m not sure your analogy works. He also works tirelessly on the pitch and there is clearly no lack of effort so I’m not sure how you penalise that.

There is an issue in football that players and managers can be truly awful and still get paid as they have contracts that guarantee their income irrespective of performance. Look at Moyes, keeps getting sacked, keeps getting jobs.

2.) 06 Jun 2018 08:25:47
He shouldn't keep his Wag AND his hot model in the same garage, that's just asking for trouble. Also, probably shouldn't keep women in a garage at all. #metoo.

3.) 06 Jun 2018 10:01:15
The major issue for me is that most of these 'flops' tend to be the big fish and everything is played through them at the smaller club - they can make a mistake because they get the ball back 30 seconds later and the other players and fans are more forgiving. They then arrive at the big club, see the ball half as much, are asked to do other things that they weren't asked to do when main man and often struggle with the adjustment to being one of many as opposed to the one!

Zaha will be the same if taken by a CL team again. Some players are just suited better to being the main man, Le Tissier style, he would have been a virtual non-entity had he left Saints for a top club imo. Mahrez I bet will be the same at City. Some players like Le Tissier (because he is smart) know where their bread is buttered, others want it all and often come up short because there are half a dozen other players all vying to be the main man at the new club - always hard being the new kid as well unless ultra Zlatan confident of course.

Happens in most industries. Sanchez is just struggling from the style, nothing to do with confidence/ ability, purely to do with the way he plays not being suited to the way Jose has Utd playing.

4.) 06 Jun 2018 14:48:02
Le Tissier was a virtual non-entity most games at Southampton. Saw very little of him till he ended up volleying a 89 minute winner in then everyone raved about. Never saw the fuss personally.

5.) 06 Jun 2018 22:23:28
I don't know why this post has got me out of hiding. I'm a every day reader and have been an occasional poster over the years. First as U-N-I-T-E-D F-O-R-E-V-E-R and then another name which I can't remember. Eds will probably know based on my email which has always been the same.

Got to disagree with Beast and Mort with respect to Le Tiss. It was a different time so difficult to make direct comparisons. Of course he was no athlete like many of the stars today but in terms of technique and technical ability he was simply superb.

He carried a team that probably should have got relegated every year but he kept them in the top division, which sometimes felt like single handedly and when he retired I think they went down inside a three or four seasons.

During his peak years her could have played for any of the top sides and would have been one of their better players. Was he luxury player - yeah he was but he could get 20+ goals almost every season and most of them were crackers. You obviously would have to use him correctly and play to his strengths, otherwise you would have another Veron (another superb player) on your hands if all you wanted was a hardworking centre mid.

Which brings me to another point. Pogba is a luxury player for us at this moment and I believe we bought him a the wrong time and he has suffered because of it. Luxury players tend to thrive if the team is complete and they are allowed to do their thing. I'm hoping with Fred coming in to play alongside Matic - Pogba will be able to play further up the pitch and really show everyone how good a player he is. I think he is going to have a great season for us. The last two have been tough on him as he has had to drop deep where he makes little impact and can't influence the game.

Finally, just wanted to thank the eds and posters for all their debates, banter and insightful comments. Also, I had some pretty tough times over the years and always turned to my family here and always got lots of support so just wanted to say thank you.
