After the Leicester game I do think that Ndidi and Chilwell would add a bit to our squad and a signings like Toby and Wan Bassaka we could have relatively cheap group of prem proven players ready to challenge next season.

Nothing cheap about them Chilwell has been linked with a 50m move to City. Ndidi would cost in excess of 40m, Wan Bissaka probably close to 50m as well. Then 25m for Toby Alderweireld. So around 165m at least. I'll have a look and see what change I can find down the back of the sofa.

I have just checked in my car shappy,

I have about £1.80 in change.

£165m for that level of ability and impact on our tean, 100% cheap.

Think of the money wasted on Di Maria, Memphis, Zlatan, Alexis, Mhki, Rojo, Jones, Smalling, Young, Valencia. Yeah cheap.

Through in Chong and Greenwood battling for the RW.

We could have a very different team next season for the cost of 1.75 Pogbas.

Alderweirald for 25m would be a no brainer. He knows the league and would seamlessly slot into our back 4.
Ed001 rates him higher than our other preferred options.

This would enable us to spend big money in other parts of our squad.

Yeah shappy, come on, £165m? Absolutely nothing really. Bargain.

Recently read somewhere that Shaw has more successful crosses than Chilwell and Robertson, would only invest in a Cb, CM, RW and a RB.

Agree3 Disagree0

06 Feb 2019 09:16:48
Becks, I don't think LB is a priority and I wouldn't sign someone to be first choice. However, if Shaw got a long term injury then we would have to rely on a 34/ 35 year old Young at LB next season.

So I would look to sign a cheapish solid squad option if possible. Danny Rose in the unlikely scenario that Spurs wouldn't demand an insane price for would be ideal maybe. Other than him maybe someone like Philip Max could be an excellent option.

The full back position in modern football is the most physically demanding position on the pitch. Ideally we do need two LB's and two RB's to challenge in all competitions next season.

The Leicester raid? Utd Road want Ndidi and Chilwell and Shappy wants Ricardo Pereira.

Does anyone here believe that we can win 5 more games than Liverpool and City? I can't say it's out of the question, but the £1 I had on us to win the league at Christmas (1000/ 1) is looking the best it has done!

{Ed025's Note - you might as well have thrown it down a grid fresh..

Lots of roadworks with 50 mph max speed limits. Give yourself minimum 2.5hrs to get there. If you arrive early you can relax have a drink or two and soak up the atmosphere. If you are sitting in traffic with kick off fast approaching it can be a terribly frustrating feeling of being unable to do anything about it.

Liverpool have got the jitters. Really looking over their shoulders (shame it's our noisy neighbours doing the chasing)
I would be tempted to say next year might be their year, but I think they will have us to contend with. They should remember their place.

I had a glance on their live chat last night after the game and it was a sight to behold. You'd swear they threw the league away. I do think the whole club is surrounded by negative pressure though and I don't think this year will be their year but a good portion of their fans are cracking up. You need to enjoy these title run ins but you can feel the manager, players and fans are not relishing under the pressure.

Klopps true nature comes out after a bad result and yesterday was no exception. Moaning about the ref giving West ham some 50/ 50 free kicks because he gave his team a goal? Nonsense. For all his hugs and smiles, tactically he's one of the worst "top" managers and I don't think he has it in him to get Liverpool over the line.

Agree7 Disagree0

05 Feb 2019 11:32:41
They get to this stage and start to get excited thinking it is already won and bottle it, look up the Liverpool boom and bust cycle, it has just moved along a bit this year.

Klopp moaning about the ref and the fans acting like it is the end of April not the beginning of February, they have a pretty decent run in with good fixtures but if they can't handle it now how will they handle it in April and May. The title will be City's in my opinion.

Mumbles,

In all honesty I am not sure we can slag off any other teams live chat, ours was an absolute embarrassment on Sunday, I remembered very quickly why I don't go on there anymore (that was my first time this season) .

I still think Liverpool will win the league. Only lost once this season, so unlikely they suddenly lose 2/ 3 games now.

05 Feb 2019 13:22:35
I'm with you re live chat. Most sensible posters are avoiding it apart from the odd one or two who seem to be very selective in their appearances. Sensible, considered opinions and contributions seem to attract abuse. Not a lot of support for the team.

05 Feb 2019 13:30:40
Well said GDS. We are just as bad as others.

Prefer to either be at the games, or concentrate watching them on tv then participating in live moaning.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Feb 2019 14:38:56
It is strange that the main culprits on the chat don't actually post or add anything to the page very regularly. I said I couldn't believe the negativity and got a total barrage, which I admit i reacted to but it was very frustrating so I left.

Stand,

They don't need to lose 2 or 3, they will be off the top on Wednesday if City beat Everton and their game in hand is at Old Trafford. Also, they dropped 6 points in their first 20 games, were they unlikely to drop 7 points in the next 6? Because that is exactly what has happened.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Feb 2019 14:59:41
I would hate to see Liverpool get there first title in 30 years as much as anyone, but please let's not spend the rest of the season battling for 4th and celebrating City winning (another) title over Liverpool.

We would all love to be where Liverpool are in the league, it smacks of jealous desperation to cheer for our city rivals getting one over on them. City are themselves creating a dynasty that could put ours to shame if we don't get on with the rebuild.

Focus on ourselves. Improve our performances and continue good results and leave the scousers to implode and pray they both go sideways and someone else (super Ole?! ) Makes a late comeback win to avoid what is frankly a sickening 2 horse race.

Agree4 Disagree0

05 Feb 2019 15:01:29
Lets not count our chickens before the eggs are even laid. There's going to be more twists and turns yet. City still look wobbly as well. Can see them both dropping points.

05 Feb 2019 15:42:54
GDS, I haven't poked my head into our chat in a couple of seasons. It's not as entertaining when it's your own teams "fans" having a meltdown.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Feb 2019 23:16:06
Guys what you have to remember about the live chat is that most posts are instant emotional reactions to individual moments. They are not necessarily long term or even medium term opinions and views.
Redman ajh 666 and myself are there most games. Not worth getting uptight about what people say when they are emotional. I find it a laugh. I stuck up for gds on sat as did redman ( not that you needed support gds) the odd time comments are daft and a bit heated but i find it quite entertaining at times. Each to their own.
