Just heard something on MOTD about Jose planning a bid for Aguerooo 😂

Surely this isn't true eds?

Gungadin

{Ed002's Note - Aguero is available this summer but I would not get my hopes up about a move to Old Trafford just yet.}

1.) 07 May 2017 04:58:44
A quality player, who is rather injury prone.

2.) 07 May 2017 08:40:21
Best striker we could sign as he is proven in the league and settled in Manchester. Won't happen, but nice thought.

3.) 07 May 2017 09:44:15
I'd be delighted if this happens, but not getting my hopes up as seems most unlikely.

4.) 07 May 2017 10:04:42
Hope he goes abroad tbh.

First time poster but followed the site for a long time. Best site around for me, thanks to all the eds who make it possible. Phenomenal job.

Have just seen something on the BBC gossip that Utd have renewed interest in Kroos. Was wondering if anybody could shed some light on this? Thanks in advance.

Gungadin

{Ed002's Note - It was expected that Kroos would leave last summer even though his initial beef was with Benitez. Howver, Zidane persuaded him to stay regardless of the interest of Manchester City. As I explained in the Sharkopod Manchester United are still considering Kroos but nothing was going to happen in January. Real Madrid, at least the manager, would like to keep him and not sell but there remains a chance that the club may offer him elsewhere to try and facilitate a deal for a striker. The interest of the three other clubs that Hebel approached in the summer will have moved on I would think.}

1.) 20 Feb 2017 11:49:01
I know it isn't a United question but wondering is the striker Paulo Dybala of Juventus?

{Ed002's Note - Yes.}

2.) 20 Feb 2017 11:55:53
Thanks Ed002.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

3.) 20 Feb 2017 12:49:16
I was considering posting the same thing purely because I'd love to see Kroos at United, but guessed it's probably red top fodder.

He'd be an ideal replacement for Carrick if we got him.

4.) 20 Feb 2017 13:57:23
I don't think we could do any better than Kroos. Verratti maybe but that's never going to happen. Kroos, Pogba, Herrera is a very good midfield 3.

5.) 20 Feb 2017 12:40:39
Thanks for the quick reply Ed002. Much appreciated.

6.) 21 Feb 2017 08:38:18
Is there any particular reason why Verratti is unlikely to transfer to us? I've seen it a few times in comments, and I don't understand where its come from.

I don't necessarily think he will, but everyone appears to be fairly optimistic about transfers, until his name is mentioned.

If the reason is simply 'Champions League' etc then fair enough but I didn't know if he disliked Enlgand/ our club/ Mourinho/ specific players. Or is he just either a massive PSG fan or Real/ Bca/ other bound?

7.) 21 Feb 2017 09:28:42
He has said on multiple occasions that the only club he would leave PSG for is Barcelona. He has said he has no interest in playing in the EPL.
Put those two points of view together then I think its pretty clear the chances of us signing him are almost non exsistant.

8.) 21 Feb 2017 10:21:56
If Verratti comes to the Premier League it be Chelsea, Italian connections and living in London

Plus it's pretty well known Italian players (apart from Zola) don't do well in the Premier League as they are not used to the speed of the league which is a big X for me

Personally he end up at Madrid sometime in the future, Zidane a big fan of his and his style be more suited to a style of Real Madrid

The Carrick position is a interesting one, Ander Herrara could be a potential replacement if is willing to commit to the position, do we buy a carbon copy version of him or do we decide we need someone a bit more of a bite in a Defensive Midfielder

I interested to see if someone like Modric would be available which could be a short term replacement in a Carrick mould, I think it be hard to get Kroos, Verratti or Weigl. Or do we get someone like William Carvalho or the Kessie guy from Atlanta to play more of a Defensive role.

{Ed002's Note - THere have been plenty of Italian players who have done well in the Premier League - Ravinelli, Di Matteo, Vialli, Di Canio, Carbone ....}

9.) 21 Feb 2017 11:02:52
so your saying he might not come to UTD then? :-)

10.) 21 Feb 2017 11:54:25
I really rate Herrera but he is not a replacement for Carrick.

11.) 21 Feb 2017 12:07:25
Sorry ed002 maybe I was a bit harsh on Italian players but part of me feel like some of those where just a PR stunt to get fans into the ground back in the 90s, tbh though they did pretty well at their respected clubs but I don't think they were world beaters, they were just made to look good because they were at bad teams, tbh I probably being very critical on them.

{Ed002's Note - Clubs don't spend millions buying players as a "stunt" to get a few more fans to go to matches.}

12.) 21 Feb 2017 14:19:10
Did he not nearly sign for us in the Moyes era?

13.) 22 Feb 2017 06:19:03
Kroos / veratti/ thiago are for me the standout playmakers in the game today.
All 3 are at top clubs and will be in no rush to leave where they are. I would imagine none of the 3 will be forced out the door.
Veratti has said he does not fancy playing in epl and would prefer to go stay go home or head for Spain.
Thiago suffers quite a bit with injuries and bayern don't sell easily.
Kroos seems to be happier under Zidane.
I can see Jose signing a raibot / fabhino/ matic type midfielder high energy and more destructive than creative.
Personally and in an ideal world I would like to see veratti or Kroos but I just don't see that happening I hope I'm wrong.

Am I being failing to be objective or does Anyone else get annoyed how some players, including ours, get called out for diving (Young, Januzaj, Rooney) yet Aguero literally never gets called out on it? Must have dived 2/ 3 times in that second half. and that was before the Schneiderlin red card. I'm sure Martin Tyler even excused him for it at one point.

Gungadin

{Ed004's Note - Aguero has always been a cheat. Some of his tackles in the past have been shocking and he goes down under little to no pressure. However, a city player diving won't get as much media clicks as a Utd player going down easily.}

1.) 21 Aug 2017 22:52:26
Sure they said they were going to punish players who were seen diving.

2.) 22 Aug 2017 10:05:29
Bolger, they did and they have a panel set up now, I have heard Danny Murphy talking about it. No retrospective punishments have been dished out yet though.

3.) 22 Aug 2017 10:08:17
Right on, Ed004. I dinstinctly remember 2 shocking assaults on Luiz by Aguero. He's a right old dirty player.

19 Jul 2017 19:08:54
Couple questions for the eds if you don't mind. firstly anything in these Verratti rumours? What a player.

Secondly, and sorry if it's a silly question, but does the Lukaku deal have any impact on a potential Move for Matic? I find it hard to believe clubs/ businesses of.

Gungadin

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any Verratti rumours. I am not sure why you think Lukaku and Matic are related.}

1.) 20 Jul 2017 03:28:49
I think Gungadin is suggesting that maybe Chelsea are preventing Matic from moving to United because United stole Lukaku from out underneath their noses.

2.) 20 Jul 2017 09:25:36
I think it is best to look at a story and if it sounds made up then it probably is.

I thought Lukaku and Matic were full brothers, you live and learn.

10 Jul 2017 14:51:24
One for Ed004 if you're around.

What are your thoughts on Lukaku?

Also, who else do you think we will sign this window?

Thanks.

Gungadin

{Ed004's Note - I'm happy with Lukaku's signing. He fits the bill for what Jose wants his striker to do. Ibrahimovic posted fantastic stats last season but I felt he restricted our play a lot at times. He was never able to run in behind, he didn't link up well with Martial at all and his finishing was very poor at times. Hopefully, Lukaku will get more out of our other attacking options.

I expect at least one more midfielder to come in and probably another attacker. Hopefully, the interest is still there in Semedo and a deal can be completed for him. Personally, I'd forget about an attacker like Perisic and go for a second central midfielder and wait until next season or January for Griezmann/Dembele}

1.) 10 Jul 2017 19:20:33
I can see us waiting for Griezmann too ed, surely he'd of been here if AM's ban wasn't up held and wouldn't be surprised to see no new no. 7 this season coming.

{Ed004's Note - If the ban didn't happen I think he'd have been signed by now}

2.) 10 Jul 2017 19:48:36
Do you think Griezman splitting from his agent this summer is any indication of him changing his mind on us (for next year)?

It was fairly widely reported that his agent was pushing for the move as the most lucrative thing for his client, but it recently came out that Griezman and his agent had parted ways as they disagreed on vision about Griezman's future.

I'm slightly concerned this could be an indication that Griezman could be having second thoughts about coming here.

{Ed004's Note - Well if he's changing agent to Raiola surely that's more of a sign that he wants to join us}

3.) 10 Jul 2017 20:53:42
Raiola you devil! $$$.

26 Jun 2017 12:25:24
Who are we thinking is this surprise Jose mentioned? Ronaldo? Kane? Anyone have any ideas?

Gungadin

1.) 26 Jun 2017 12:34:09
Prob matic.

2.) 26 Jun 2017 14:17:45
I think he is just saying that he will buy who he thinks is best suited to what he wants, not just who everyone else wants or flavour of the month. Take Bailey last year, Not who others had identified but who his scouting had picked suited. Same again this year with Peresic being looked at.
We all think the surprise is a big one but may not be the case.
That said if Bale came in I would be surprised and happy.

3.) 26 Jun 2017 14:20:35
I think some people are a little too hung up on this 'surprise' business. Mourinho likes to banter with the media that's probably all it is.

4.) 26 Jun 2017 15:42:57
Rosie,

No way, Jose said there will be a surprise and there God damn will be one if you like it or not. People will still be screaming for this surprise on Deadline Day when Jim White is bringing it up and all our business finished 3 weeks earlier. People are so desperate for the shiny new signing they will believe anything at this time of year, it's funny.

5.) 26 Jun 2017 18:54:00
Jim White will be shouting Dybala to join his friends Morata and Pogba at Old Trafford, it has been confirmed!

What a way to end the transfer window!

6.) 26 Jun 2017 21:12:34
In your dreams Ronnie 😂.

7.) 26 Jun 2017 21:49:15
Usain Bolt to give Maze the pace he wants in the team. Lol.

8.) 26 Jun 2017 23:45:07
Could be he's bringing back Welbeck.

9.) 27 Jun 2017 12:13:03
Surprise is Rooney is staying, will be like a new signing next year. Sadly like we've signed Trev from the Sunday league, but a new signing no less.

{Ed007's Note - I did tell you months ago Rooney would get a new deal that includes a coaching role.... ;)

10.) 27 Jun 2017 12:19:17
He was offered a coaching roll, but said he prefers kebabs.

11.) 27 Jun 2017 13:33:07
I think you'll find the only role Rooney will accept is in the form of sausage.

04 Apr 2017 22:55:08
Chins up boys. we have proven since October that we are very, very diffIcult to beat if nothing else. we maintain that and sort out the finishing and we are golden. glory, glory Man United.

Gungadin

1.) 05 Apr 2017 07:46:47
And if Liverpool sorted out their defensive woes, they would win the league. So what's your point? You honestly think that you are going to go back to being champions just by improving your finishing? Chelsea aside, all the top6 clubs in England need squad upgrades.

2.) 05 Apr 2017 10:04:38
Some more than others eh Indian.

3.) 05 Apr 2017 15:29:28
Better finishing = more goals = more wins.

Good player and and an English talent. others may not agree but the more homegrown talent in our squad the better as far as I'm concerned.
