For me what Sanchez brings in a directness when he gets the ball, he is always looking to go forward, not back or sideways. It great to have him and it will improve all our forwards, the movement will be great to watch when Pogba and Martial are included. On another note great to see Carrick back and young Gomes reminded me of dare l say it Ronaldo when he first arrived just a pity he didn't get more game time. I think we have stepped up a level with our new signing.

He also brings much needed energy. He is tenacious, if our other players can lift the urgency in their play we will be a good team to watch. Pressuring defenders, making them make mistakes.

I'm also excited about seeing Shaw linking with Sanchez, there will be a lot of space created because of Sanchez, he is careful with the ball as well, so rather than Martial/ Rash on the left who are hit and miss with their use of the ball and timing of runs there could be a good relationship out there.

I hope Martial can switch to the right and adopts the passion/ tenacity that Sanchez has.

Dublin get back in your box you won’t get higher than 6th place with your geriatric manager.

Agree beastie, shaw and Sanchez is potentially deadly on that left flank. Personally I would put Sanchez right but if Jose puts Sanchez on the let it hope martial plays centrally behind Lukaku. We have options and I am buzzing to see what Jose has in mind for our attacking talent.

Dublin I love Arsenal but second only to ManUtd.
However on last night’s game, do not look down on Yeovil. The are hungry and passionate. Playing is not easy in the first half as they are not your regular diamond cut PL kind of team with big names. They are rough in the edges and yet tackle hard, in fact very hard and rough. It is difficult playing then if you value your legs. Sanchez was hit hard and so was Rojo. But we survived through it and the team played differently in the 2nd half and with a different game plan we won.
If Arsenal were to play then I am sure there will be shouts of bad refereeing and lower league team and roughness - the usual complaints from Wenger. So I’d give compliments to Yeovil where due but more compliments to our team for coming back strong.
Good game and good intro game for Sanchez with the team. Once Sánchez gets used to the way the lads styles I am confident the teamwork will be there and game will be fluid. Next game will be good rest on how fast Sanchez gels with the team.

Typically disrespectful Dublin, Yeovil put a lot into that game and frustrated us for a large part of it.

Ironically you are "it's only Yeovil " and that the exact kind of game your flimsy team would have lost.

Didn’t they get knocked out by only Forest 😂. Sanchez work rate has obviously had an immediate effect on the team, post match Herrera was praising how he works hard to get the ball back irrelevant of who lost it. A genuine world class player working hard can only lift the other players to that level as they have no excuses when Sanchez is putting in that shift. Bring on spurs.

Great to see Sanchez. Clearly the instructions were to get him the ball primarily to give him his first experience within a new team and structure, and then to see what he could do. While his overall performance was excellent there were 3 or 4 occasions in the first half when his through passes seemed to be to no one, and I wondered whether this was because of the type of runs he's used to after his time at Arsenal, where the general style seems to rely on more intricate passing schemes, with runs in front of the defenders, as opposed to direct running into the spaces behind the defence. As with all great players, as the game wore on, he adapted to his teammates better and better.

Sanchez - immense (and please don't start wjth the 'its only yeovil' s**t)

Lingard - u little beauty.

Exactly the performance of a manchester united team against a lower league team. All respect to yeovil though.

Spuds. let's get at them.

Another good showing by the youngun and showing that he should be getting gametime.

A quick cameo but I couldn't help think that young Gomez can learn so much from Alexis. Miles apart at the moment but in three to four years young Gomez may well benefit from Alexis influence.

He really looked good in that run but unlucky as it hit the side netting, he will learn a lot just by being around the first team more often.

Reminds me of Tevez so much with the closing down of opponears. Not going to lie Tevez as my favourite player and I never got over him leaving. But Sanchez is the combination of him with Ronaldo’s magic. So excited to see him flourish, good times ahead.

Wow!

Some player that Sanchez. Forget about his quality, his work rate is immense!

A lot of you won't be happy but I think he'll play from the left with Martial on the bench. As much as I admire Martial he's just witnessed the standard tonight, not only on the ball but the drive, determination, intensity and work rate required to be one of the very best. I think Sanchez linked up well with Mata and with Lingard at 10 we'll have plenty of movement, pace and intensity behind Lukaku.

The team against Spurs will be fascinating!

Believable2 Unbelievable2

26 Jan 2018 23:08:12
Sanchez will be better driving through the middle. He can play behind the striker and Martial in his usual position. And they can interchange positions throughout the game. For me Martial brings something extra as in he can drive to the byline and then cut back for players like Sanchez and lukaku running in. Sanchez on the other hand can take on players through the middle and pick up passes. With Pogba and Sanchez both able to beat players and having good vision it'll improve the overall game.

Sanchez drug shock. What are them papers going to come out with next.
Sanchez missed drug test on the day of his transfer. come on he can't be in 3 places at one time. And was he an arsenal player at the time, I'm sure he didn't do it deliberate.
Why anyone buys those rags is beyond me.
I'm glad I have this site for all my football information. And ed001 for his daily news on football better than any of them rags.

{Ed001's Note - thank you Leahy. I saw the headlines this morning as I was doing that round up and thought it was hilarious the way they spun it to make it sound like a real big deal. This is the 3rd case this season, neither of the other two made back page headlines.}

I expect the ‘Yeovil’s entire squad cost x’ ‘ united squad cost this with the addition or £100m Sanchez’
Only transfer in history that you include all wages and fees in, £57m Laporte and that’s it, makes you laugh.

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Jan 2018 14:58:59
Nobody has batted an eyelid at how much city are paying for Laporte. They have spent close to £200m on mangala, Otamendi, stones and soon to be Laporte yet united have ruined football paying Sanchez £350,000 a week for a premier league proven world class player. Clearly we are getting under the skin of the media.

Sensationalism and 'fake news' is the order of the day i'm afraid. It what drives this generation of teens to early 20's . Of course not everybody but the majority.
The thirst for instant news and 20 second updates is insatiable apparantly and the ease that a story made up in someone's bedroom and can be a worldwide rumour within 5 mins without any comeback for spreading lies. It's laughable.

Angel Gomes has travelled to my neck of the woods. Hope he gets some minutes. I know a couple of ex Yeovil players well and still couldn't get a ticket. Oh how times have changed.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

26 Jan 2018 13:54:15
Hailing from Yeovil myself I’ve managed to score a ticket with a few local connections. Ecstatic as I didn’t manage to get one a couple of years ago. Would be brilliant to see Gomes get a few mins but really hoping Sánchez gets his debut on the hallowed turf of Huish Park. He’s been my favourite non-United player for years, so to see him step out tonight would be a dream.

Nice review Ed. 👍
Impressed with Rangers having so many signings!
Thanks 🙏 for info.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - thanks mate. Odd one them making so many signings when Celtic fans are constantly telling everyone they are about to go into admin.}

26 Jan 2018 09:38:15
Apparently there was signs before the new year but obviously with the new signings ed they are keeping their head above water. They keep getting cash injections.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - the signs seem to have all been coming from Celtic fans though. Yes they are currently under a new board who have been making cash injections into their investment, as is usual when a new owner takes over a business. How much did Man City owners inject to get the club financially viable? They are still injecting cash now, but it does not mean admin is on the way. I have no idea if it is in Rangers case either, but neither do Celtic fans, they are just desperate to believe otherwise and believe any old crap if it is anti-Rangers.}

26 Jan 2018 12:26:02
Yeah it's a push from the Celtic fans, not surprising though as there is real hatred there.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it is sad to be honest. They are fighting over things from the 17th century! It makes me cringe when I see it.}

26 Jan 2018 14:43:39
Problem is, a lot of them don't even know what it is that they are really fighting about.
