Nice to see that Manchester United are supporting the local economy. We will need a lot more medical staff now with Cavani and Dembele.

1.) 04 Oct 2020 12:19:39
Wow, so funny, how did you even think of that joke?

Calm before the storm on here today. Let's stoke the fire a bit. Who would bring Sanchez back when he has recovered in mid January and play him as a 10, instead of Lingard, Parrera and Mata?

1.) 04 Jan 2020 08:40:38
it would be nice to see a no 10 backpass it to fred :)

2.) 04 Jan 2020 08:41:59
No, let him go. He is paid far too much money. Let him be someone else's problem.

Perriera is the better out of the 3. Come the summer Mata and lingard both need to go. Mata is getting old and Lingard is very injury prone and ineffectual.
Perreira can play a few positions, he is decent but we can't sell all our midfielders as we won't have any left to play.

3.) 04 Jan 2020 09:06:05
Sanchez is the first signing in our history. His arrival unsettled Rashford and Martial, we paid him an absolute fortune, and he was worse than useless on the pitch. I'd rather bring Darren Gibson back.

4.) 04 Jan 2020 09:36:54
That should say worst signing.

5.) 04 Jan 2020 14:44:32
Agree with ajh.

6.) 04 Jan 2020 15:15:54
Agree with Ajh, Sanchez is another virus and must never wear a United shirt again.
I'd rather give Gomes a chance to impress, and I don't mean half an hour here or there, put him in for a good run and see where that gets us. And Grealish might be an excellent signing too.

{Ed002's Note - Gomes wants out and can now talk with other clubs directly.}

7.) 04 Jan 2020 16:59:49
What has Gomes done to suggest he should be our no 10? The few minutes he has played he looked rubbish. Same with Chong; all hair, no talent.

8.) 05 Jan 2020 10:48:43
Gomes leaving the sinking ship. Not sure Chong is great but with some decent direction (coaching) he may well turn out a good player.

Have we started doing our medical examinations on the NHS? This is the 8th time that Bruno Fernandes is supposed to be having a medical. He must be getting sick of all these cancellations.

Surprised that we are not competing for Ndombele. An improved Fred and Ndombele would give us a high energy midfield that we have been lacking for years.

1.) 13 Jun 2019 07:22:18
Agreed I think he would be a top signing. Would be gutted to see him to go spurs tbh. Would be an odd move for him.

2.) 13 Jun 2019 08:12:41
Spurs would be a great move for him. UCL finalists, young progressive manager who has a habit of improving players, team plays good football. He would also slot straight in as first choice probably alongside Harry Winks. Pushing Wanyama or Dier out of the line up. He would be the best replacement they could get for Moussa Dembele.

The only thing that could be better is he would potentially earn more money at some other clubs. However, if he chooses playing time, and personal development over money at this stage in his career then that's a great attitude to have.

I agree he would be phenomenal for us and really add a new dimension to our midfield. But he will be expensive, all signings from Lyon are. There are other options though, Rice or Neves could be great signings and have the added bonus of being EPL proven and settled.

3.) 14 Jun 2019 06:12:56
If spurs sign Ndombele and Lo Celso that's a fantastic midfield.

21 Dec 2018 08:17:17
Given the number of games that we have left to go, that Matic is already exhausted and we are not going to be able to buy a new DM in January. I would like to see Bailley tried as a DM, if we could get another defender in.

I am not saying he would become a world class DM. But JM has left us desperate in that position and it would give us some energy in midfield that would be better than the alternatives.

1.) 21 Dec 2018 09:10:13
I'd use Herrera.

2.) 21 Dec 2018 10:05:11
I'm concerned that you could watch Bailly and think he has anywhere near the passing ability or spacial awareness to play defensive midfield.

3.) 21 Dec 2018 11:03:38
I think Ole should perhaps focus on playing players in their normal positions and see how things work out with that first.

4.) 21 Dec 2018 12:48:34
Maybe we could try mctominay in that position, instead of using him as a pawn to prove a point to pogba or prove a point to the board that they were wrong not to buy the manager a centre back.

5.) 21 Dec 2018 13:08:07
We are shocking at CB so why would we move the only decent one we have out of that position in to one that he has not got the skills to play? CDMs don't need to be Tall bruisers - Herrera could slot in there. We could also stick in McTominay or another youngster.

6.) 21 Dec 2018 13:42:46
Bailly can play as cb i hope.

7.) 21 Dec 2018 14:01:53
Phil Jones has played there before.

8.) 21 Dec 2018 14:20:30
Bailly is better suited to CB. If we are to play any CB in midfield I feel Lindelof would be best suited.

However, I'd rather go with Herrera.

9.) 21 Dec 2018 15:40:41
Was about to say shappy I think lindelof has qualities to play defensive midfield especially with his passing range and reading of the game. If we were to sign someone like koulibaly I would not be against seeing lindelof moved there. He has struggled with the physicality of the league at times and he would not have to worry about it as much in midfield. Having koulibaly and bailly behind him would offer more than enough cover. He would be like dier for spurs except more talented on the ball. However, I can’t see ole moving him from CB.

10.) 21 Dec 2018 20:09:41
Park, if Pochettino joins in the summer I could see Lindelof playing the Dier role.

I think the EPL might just be a little too rough for him as a CB, but feel he could be excellent as a shield Infront of the back four and dropping back to cover for full backs.

11.) 21 Dec 2018 23:00:54
I agree completely shaps.

12.) 22 Dec 2018 03:54:09
What abt andres pereira playing that role great passer and good energy, just a thought! at least he likes to keep the ball moving and open up teams.

I think we should try Martial in the 10 position if we buy another striker. Parrera, Lingard amd Mata are not going to score enough goals.

I love the idea of this. But, we already have 4 players (Pogba, Parreira, Mata, lingard and Gomes) who's best position is as a 10.

If this were true, it would hopefully force the club into action and cash in, on some of the above players so that the money could be invested in weaker areas of the team. like RW, CB, DM and LB.

Wishful thinking maybe, but the current lack of quality of competition for their place in the squad, standard of the Europe league and growing with us to be good again, might be a selling point. Well, I can dream.

Think Jose will just let Damian leave. Young will be back up to Valencia and Shaw will be back up to Sandro.

To be fair to Manctom one of the problems of last season was the lack of service that the forward players got from the left fullback position no matter who played there. All of the players mentioned are good defensively but poor to average going forward. I am hoping that Luke Shaw delivers for us this season and becomes the player that we hoped he would be.

I thought last night highlighted the lack of width that we have in the squad, as well as the lack of depth in quality. We don't have full backs that can get a cross in or wingers that can beat a man and go on the outside.

There is a lot of TFM bashing going on. He had an injury this season which kept him out for a long time. He has never had a chance in his preferred DM position. He only ever played as a right back in the first team, for Van dull. We should buy another DM and play Matic as back up for another year. TFM should go out on loan this season, where he is guaranteed to get game time. Then reassess it in January, (or whenever mid season is next year! )

Really hoping that we have a front 4 of Ighalo, Martial, Fernandes and Greenwood today. So, for the first time in memory, we have four players on the pitch, who could potentially score a goal. Instead of one, who could score and 3 squad players.

Not happy about Pogba in Midfield. He loses the ball too often.

We would all love him to become the player that he could be, but I just think OGS is fighting a losing battle, which is going to cost us goals.

He said last year that he does not like defending and I think opponents will just double up on him when he gets the ball and he won't be able to play his Hollywood pass and then becomes ineffective.

{Ed004's Note - An interesting stat no one picked up from after first two games was that Pogba had won possession the most in the league. I personally feel like we have him playing in his best position. He is certainly putting the hard work in first few games. Our biggest concern is that theres no creativity around him. Everything is played through him so he has no options but to take risks.}
