As a treat Ed002 could you tell us if the rumours that we have agreed a deal for Sergej Milinkovic Savic are true or not or that we are close ie. in talks? Much appreciated!

{Ed001's Note - no need to bother him, it is not true. Interest is there but no deal as of yet.}

1.) 07 May 2018 17:53:11
Ok cheers Ed 👍.

2.) 08 May 2018 03:12:41
Ufff hope Milinkovic-Savic sign for us not for them!

23 Apr 2018 19:43:35
Would anyone be happy taking a punt on Seamus Coleman? I think he would be great down the right side. Do the Eds know if they’re is any interest? I know he wasn’t mentioned but I think there was interest before. Not sure if it’s still there?

{Ed004's Note - Haven't heard of any interest in him and I think it's a couple of seasons too late to be going after him}

1.) 24 Apr 2018 07:58:12
Yeah I think that ship has sailed.

2.) 24 Apr 2018 19:20:45
Sailed and sunk hopefully.

22 May 2017 21:22:31
So Griezman says he is a 6/ 10 about joining us! And we'll know about his future in the next two weeks! Really really hope he joins us!

1.) 22 May 2017 21:25:30
Probably waiting to see if we have champions league to offer.

2.) 22 May 2017 21:41:07
Let's hope we can get the job done on Wednesday night then!

3.) 22 May 2017 21:42:34
Also said it's 7/ 10 chance he stays. So 13/ 10 chances he either stays or goes. Not too bright apparently that guy :-P.

4.) 22 May 2017 21:42:46
I personally think he's mocking us for finishing 6th 😀.

5.) 22 May 2017 22:01:58
He talking too much again, he may end up talking out of a move, a lot of clubs won't bother, could become a headache more than anything.

6.) 22 May 2017 22:27:30
But would it be a headache if he was banging them in and working his magic? I for one would let him talk away as long as he was 😁.

7.) 23 May 2017 05:49:53
I think he has just told utd win on Wednesday and i am yours, also very interesting news is silva being courted with canal+ who are considered very reliable reporting too good to refuse offer made, imagine silva and greizmann. My inner muppet will die of a heart attack if we sign both.

8.) 23 May 2017 08:02:24
Griezmann is probably my favourite non United players at the moment

He just needs to tone down the social stuff, he might get away with this at Atletico but United he won't, haven't they pulled Pogba for the exact same thing.

9.) 23 May 2017 08:11:15
We need a finisher, belotti would fit the bill.

10.) 23 May 2017 09:23:58
Best part about his statement is the next 2 weeks element. At least it won't be dragged out all summer.
I would love him but think a Drogba type number 9 more important.

11.) 23 May 2017 10:04:55
This sort of comment is prob what will put Jose off.

12.) 23 May 2017 13:22:20
Agree. we have a number of players who can play the no 10 role as it is now called. We need a prolific striker who can feed of Rashford. and visa versa. winger and some decent defenders is what we need. love greizman to sign . But we can't wait for ever for him to make up his mind. we need all new signings to be at the club sharpish. just pray we are not looking for a new keeper also.

{Ed007's Note - The window doesn't open until 1st of July so sharpish isn't going to happen.}

13.) 23 May 2017 10:33:17
I'm just curious, why is it that if a person likes to talk to the media or is active on social media, prove to be a problem? Pogba is always dabbing, dancing or doing whatever he likes on SM and even Adidas makes videos about him. Same with Mata, he writes a blog after every match!

Why is this a problem for Mr. Mourinho?

14.) 23 May 2017 14:52:06
You know what I mean Ed. cheeky chuff.

{Ed007's Note - You said you can't wait for Griezmann to make up his mind, why not when the window doesn't open for another 5 1/2 weeks?}

15.) 23 May 2017 16:20:57
Raghav pogba kept his mouth shut for most part of the pogba to utd saga, being respectful to both utd and juventus, mata writing those blogs are mostly his version of post match reports and fan appreciation, with griezmann he has already talked about moving to utd, had no problems saying real madrid would be an option, and just a while back trying to correct his 6/ 10 remark he all but put himself up for sale by saying he wants to win trophies and will go to england, germany, china or usa if he has to, that is disrespectful to athletico. Imagine him saying all this with utd, how would you feel?

16.) 23 May 2017 17:39:26
Csm, Athletico will already be fully aware he is leaving this summer. He's even said United are willing to pay his buy out clause. They would've been negotiating for weeks/ months for him to come out publicly like this. As previous posters have said, come Thursday morning when we're either in or out CL, the deal will be rubber stamped and Athleti will be making a tidy £50-60 million profit. They will not care about some French talk show.

17.) 23 May 2017 19:07:23
2toms surely juventus would have been aware too, it is not about negotiation etc, it is about common sense, he comes out looking like a money chasing mercenary with the england, china, usa comment, he acts like a little attention whore every time he speaks to the media, he needs to get himself a good pr team and keep his trap shut unless they tell him to open it.

18.) 24 May 2017 23:10:32
Maybe 9/ 10 now!

19.) 25 May 2017 10:54:03
Cmon woody get this done now.

20.) 25 May 2017 19:47:33
and yet tonight he is saying he is going on holiday and looking forward to winning trophies with athletico in the new stadium. who knows, but he is never out the papers whether that's him or his people or made up nonsense.

10 Dec 2016 22:02:23
Has Stephan de vjri (mind the spelling) been considered by united?

{Ed002's Note - Yes.}

1.) 11 Dec 2016 11:11:25
He looks Dutch Version of Jonny Evans to me. No thanks.

2.) 11 Dec 2016 17:04:18
What's wrong with Jonny Evans? Wish he was still at the club and not hounded out by fickle fans.

3.) 11 Dec 2016 19:33:50
What is your take on him ED?

{Ed002's Note - He is very well thought of.}

09 Jun 2015 20:56:37
Hi ED's. I have just read on a website that we have inquired about four Real Madrid players. Bale, Ronaldo, benzema and varane.

1.) 10 Jun 2015 02:51:29
Sounds true to me.

16 Jul 2018 00:05:09
Thanks for the sharkopod Ed002! So after listening to it would you all be happy with this.?
Outs Ins
Shaw. Alderwerield
Smalling Philipp max
Jones. Kroos
Martial Lozano
Darmian Bale

I’d be over the moon with that! Probably won’t happen but would be awesome!

1.) 16 Jul 2018 00:12:11
Id rather keep Martial and not go for Lozano if we are not biying another striker and give Martial the games at center forward.

The rest can go and the players you mentioned as ins will be a a good window for us.

2.) 16 Jul 2018 00:21:51
I wasn’t really thinking about martial as a striker as he mostly plays from the left. Lozano for me would work better on the left as he works his socks off and has the quality too. Still I will be happy if martial stays but Lozano would be a great replacement if he were to leave.

3.) 16 Jul 2018 01:09:28
Pogba on the out lost as well potentially going off what ed said.

4.) 16 Jul 2018 01:43:25
After all the big names thrown around as usual, perhaps the most important name on that list is Philipp Max.

5.) 16 Jul 2018 06:53:32
Cheers Ed!

I'd be delighted with a couple of the names mentioned. Alderweireld, Max/ Sandro, Kroos and Bale added would be an unbelievable window. Lozano is also a very interesting player, if Martial goes which I'd prefer not to happen he would be a great replacement.

6.) 16 Jul 2018 10:20:56
Can't say I am excited by the possible ins. Alder only if we sell Jones or smalling first and if Shaw is determined to try and prove himself he deserves the opportunity to try. Kroos great player but where would we play him and would rather keep Tony than sign lozano. Bale wd at least fill the hole we have on wide right provided he was willing to play there. Personally would prefer a genuine right winger.
Sorry if this comes across as negative but just giving my opinion. Oh and would definitely look to keep pogba.

{Ed004's Note - I found it quite a concerning Sharkopod. Would be gutted to lose both Pogba and Martial. In particular Pogba who bar Modric was probably the most complete midfielder at the world cup. I'm now at the stage were hoping we only make 2 more signings in Bale and Toby with a few out goings such as Darmian, Jones/Smalling and Blind. Seeing reports this morning that Shaw will get preseason to impress. If I had my way I'd let Young go (would be very harsh) and have Valencia/Dalot on one side, Sandro/Shaw on the other}

7.) 16 Jul 2018 10:44:26
SELLING pogba would be stupid.

Obviously the manager and the player had a fallen out last season but when he's given the licence to roam forward he is very good.

I think most of the players mentioned if sold would go on to become better players elsewhere and we will look very very stupid.

For all martials so called strops he is a very talented player. We paid over the odds and for all lvg negatives he along with Shaw was one of the few positives.

I would be gutted to loose martial and pogba.

Jose needs to loosen up otherwise I can't see him lasting past this season like many have said on here.

{Ed002's Note - Pogba is also happy to move on - time has come.}

8.) 16 Jul 2018 10:57:35
Great update as always Ed. Thanks for pulling together.
The Pogba transfer like all of them needs a willing seller (concerning but we seem to be), a willing player (as Ed says Pogba seems ready to leave) and a willing buyer to match or get close to our valuation. This is where I think it may da down. Barca, Juventus and PSG maybe interested but are they willing to pay the money? Maybe some player movement to be involved to help.
If Pogba leaves we will surely bring another CM in, if not I think we are done in this area.

9.) 16 Jul 2018 11:58:22
Morning guys, big thanks to Ed 2 as always for taking the time to do the Sharkopod.

I know many have reservations but the one name that still jumps out for me on that list is Gareth Bale. I assumed with Zidane leaving then Ronaldo being sold to Juventus that Bale would be staying at Madrid but maybe that isn't necessarily the case.

I think we should do everything we can to make this deal happen. I honestly believe a fit Gareth Bale can take us to the next level.

I think Ed said we might need to get creative and I wouldn't be against using Pogba and cash in some kind of deal to get Bale and maybe even Kroos or Varane. I know it sounds like fantasy football and in reality player swaps are rare but every player has a value and maybe some kind of deal could be done.

I really like Pogba but I think he's plays in moments or spells. You get a brilliant cross, pass, dribble or shot then nothing for long periods. Whilst he's a fantastic footballer I'm not sure he influences the game enough to build a team around. His stock will never be higher and if the Club are seriously considering letting him go then perhaps now is the right time. I certainly wouldn't be against allowing Pogba to join Madrid if we would somehow do a deal to bring Bale and Kroos the other way.

{Ed002's Note - Clubs are looking more toward including players, like they do in Italy, as there is simply not the cash around. Manchester United have so far resisted this but may, as you say, need to reconsider their thinking.}

10.) 16 Jul 2018 12:13:35
I'd be happy to see Pogba go, I can see swap deals with cash for the likes of Kroos/ Real, Thiago/ Bayern, Veratti/ PSG, Pjanic/ Juventus - I'd prefer all four of those players to Pogba and if it means we get a bit of money on top to help buy SMS or one of the three not involved in a deal, then we would be doubly strong.

If Martial isn't fancied then I'd be happy to see him go and we spend the money on a RW, as we have Sanchez for the left. I like Martial but no point in him rotting.

Most important signings we have to make are for a RB and LB (if Shaw doesn't cut it), happy with Mick from the Dog and Duck rather than Young out there, so anyone is a bonus. Wouldn't mind Sidibe on the right from Monaco.

11.) 16 Jul 2018 18:17:54
Pogba to Madrid, bale and kroos the other way.

05 May 2018 23:42:42
It’s actually hit me so hard hearing about sir Alex. I always looked up to the players we had but just realised it’s actually Fergie that got me going. Get well soon boss! 🙏🏻.

01 Jan 2018 20:31:16
Right boys! Delighted to say I’m going to my first game against West Brom on April 14th! Would like a bit of advice on where the best place to stay is and which pubs before and after the game is best to go to? Any advice welcome. Cheers!

1.) 01 Jan 2018 21:39:05
Some good bars on salford keys, I always go to the quadrant in Stratford before games. Maybe avoid the louder pubs.

04 Aug 2017 16:47:00
Anyone see matas story on sky sports? What an incredible role model. If only there was more people like him the world would be a better place! Legend!

1.) 04 Aug 2017 17:46:11
That was a top class article and shows just what he is made of. Like you said BigRed, he has always kept his hard hat on and went to work. Personally, I believe he is a brilliant little footballer who always gives 100% no matter what.

While the whole article was fantastic, you can help but get chill bumps when you read "There are great clubs in the world, and then there is Manchester United. "

Too man!

2.) 04 Aug 2017 19:01:04
Yep I read it earlier and it just cements exactly why we should keep him. Aside from being a fantastic little player he's also really bought into the club. It's clear that is also rubbing off on his Spanish pals too. I really hope we keep him for a couple more years yet.

3.) 05 Aug 2017 00:23:52
Agreed wazza.

4.) 05 Aug 2017 06:51:07
Mata is a wee gem. One of the classiest guys in football.

5.) 05 Aug 2017 09:04:59
Love Juan, always have even when at Chelsea. Hope he stays. Always contributes, chips in with goals, super player.

6.) 05 Aug 2017 09:51:19
completely agree mate. he is the kind of influence you want on the young kinds earnig £100k+ a week.

01 Jun 2017 18:20:06
A question for ED001 if possible. What is your views on Alvaro Morata as a player? I've never been fully convinced by him and do hope that we are not interested and go for someone of a higher quality. Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - on his day he can be brilliant, it is just that he can often go missing. I also have worries about a player that is happy to accept such a minor role in a side, rather than going where he would be first choice. He has ability in spades, sometimes he works his backside off and is unplayable, but mostly he is a bit lazy imo and does not get involved in the game enough.}

1.) 01 Jun 2017 21:10:44
Thanks for the reply Ed001. Do you think he would/ could be a good signing for us? An more importantly are we interested? Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - he could be with the right management, yes. I have seen him play in the past like a world beater, it just doesn't happen often enough. Yes there is interest there from United.}

2.) 01 Jun 2017 21:21:33
I don't understand why, if Real Madrid are so keen to get rid of benzema and his off-field issues, that Morata isn't their first choice.

If he was that good, surely they would have been desperate to keep him.

{Ed001's Note - Benzema is not that easy to get rid of, while he is there he is for one an excellent player, for two the last thing any team wants or needs is an unhappy Benzema around the place. Just read up on the guy, he is trouble, big trouble.}

3.) 02 Jun 2017 09:17:49
Good point. He seems the type of guy to cause divisions if dropped. Suppose it'll be hard to find any buyers with the baggage he comes with anyway.

{Ed001's Note - they would have long sold him if they could.}

Are we interested in him Ed001? How highly do you rate him if at all?

{Ed001's Note - his wage demands have put a lot off, including United. Hard to say how good he is now, he has not played for a long time and it could be that his desire and hunger has been blunted. As they were a huge part of what made him such a good player, he might well have peaked already.}

I understand GDS2 but most years when the big teams are left they are kept apart until the semis or at least the quarters. You never see big teams drawn against each other in round 3 or 4.

Does anyone else think the draws are all fixed? Every single time big teams kept apart. Must be those hot balls!
