Negotiations started yesterday with levy, expect to them to progress quickly. (Photos will emerge today of the two chief executive meeting),

1.) 04 Aug 2018 10:02:15
Hope its true but what is the source of this information!

2.) 04 Aug 2018 12:47:07

Twitter, where all the confirmed rumours come from these days.

3.) 04 Aug 2018 13:07:28
No hoogy it’s not, a friend works in a department at Man Utd, stop being so negative. You want to bet eye brows on it?

4.) 04 Aug 2018 13:11:29
I deleted my Twitter, don't want to sound paranoid but I think people were starting to follow me😀.

5.) 04 Aug 2018 19:08:22
Oh leahy, joke is still as good 2nd time round!

6.) 04 Aug 2018 20:29:29
Interesting scenario.

Daniel Levy said he’d never deal with United again after Ferguson tapped up Berbatov back in 2008.

7.) 05 Aug 2018 09:56:36
SSN reporting 60 mil fee agreed.

27 Jun 2018 23:00:37
Expect lee grant to sign in the next few days as 3rd choice keeper, you heard it here first.

1.) 27 Jun 2018 23:57:33
Not a bad addition. Will probably never get a game but decent cover non the less. This will help pave a way for Joel Perrera to go on loan where he’ll gain vital experience. A good move in my opinion.

2.) 28 Jun 2018 09:54:57
Surely it must mean at least one of Joel Pereira or Romero leaves? Any interest Eds?

{Ed002's Note - Real Betis would like JP on loan to replace Dani Gimenez.}

3.) 28 Jun 2018 10:32:57
Seems a bit pointless.

{Ed002's Note - It would be a loan or JP will have to be sold.}

4.) 28 Jun 2018 10:49:17
Mort why does it seem pointless? JP needs game time and experience. Something we can't offer at this stage so surely a loan is sensible.

5.) 28 Jun 2018 11:25:55
This is a strange transfer if it happens. Although 35 years old was surely going to get Mourinho excited. Lol.

On a serious note we have BOTH Joel Pereira and Dean Henderson who are highly rated. Obviously Henderson has joined Sheffield United on loan, but Pereira is still at the club.

I suppose maybe the idea is to loan out Pereira for him to gain top level experience while Grant covers the seldom needed third goalkeeper place. I wonder if there could be a view to Grant becoming a coach in a couple of years?

Typical Jose move though, older experienced player who will only make one of two appearances at most signed on a free.

6.) 28 Jun 2018 12:08:18
Joel P needs games. It’s an obvious move and sensible transfer to loan him out and get some experienced cover.

7.) 28 Jun 2018 12:23:01
I think its normal to have an old and experienced third choice goalkeeper. Obviously he won't play any game.

No point of keeping young keeper like Joel on the bench, he needs game time to develop.

8.) 28 Jun 2018 15:30:05
I mean its pointless signing Grant. Odds are he won't make a single appearance. Its not like either keeper has injuries. Loan JP and put in a recall option in case of emergencies.

{Ed002's Note - That is not possible.}

9.) 28 Jun 2018 16:39:54
Don't see JP long term future here. Unfortunately we have the best goalkeeper in the world called De Gea. We probably going to end up selling JP. As long De Gea is committed to us though.

10.) 28 Jun 2018 16:39:54
Don't see JP long term future here. Unfortunately we have the best goalkeeper in the world called De Gea. We probably going to end up selling JP. As long De Gea is committed to us though.

11.) 28 Jun 2018 23:23:57
It is not unfortunate that we have the best goalkeeper in the world.

12.) 29 Jun 2018 00:17:19
Is DDG the best in the world?

13.) 29 Jun 2018 00:16:30
So even allowing for Henderson going on loan and maybe JP heading to Spain. I hat does it say for our upcoming keepers, o’hara was great last season what about the younger Henderson brother and Johnstone who kept 20 clean sheets in the championship last season. What don’t they fill the third choice position and play regularly for the reserves. We’ve two vastly experienced keepers o don’t aee why we need a third one. Let a youngster fill the gap.

14.) 29 Jun 2018 14:05:31

Is it sensible for a youngster to play zero games and be a 3rd choice keeper or should he be learning his craft playing regular games? As people above say this keeper is never going to get a game so what is the point in it being someone who is having their career stalled?

15.) 29 Jun 2018 15:34:41
Personally I would prefer our 3rd choice keeper to be a youngster.

Third choice keepers only ever get on the bench if there is an injury to one of the other two keepers. This rarely happens.

In fact it happens so rarely that the third choice keeper often has to play games for the now under 23's to remain match sharp.

I would rather that be a youngster who should be playing that level than a 35 year old journey man.

I appreciate that players like Joel Pereira and Dean Henderson need regular minutes to continue to progress, so loans make sense. That should open up a space for the younger lad next in line. They should step up, train with the first team, learn off of keepers like De Gea and Romero, while stepping up to the under 23's on a regular basis.

I see nothing to be gained from signing a 35 year old keeper who is not good enough on higher wages to never play a game and take minutes away from our youngster in the under 23 set up.

Goalkeeper is a position that sees little to no rotation, we currently have two world class keepers and a group of very talented young goalkeepers in Johnstone, J. Pereira and Henderson. In fact we probably have the strongest goalkeeper line up I can ever remember us having. Adding Stokes 35 year old back up keeper just seems like a poor and pointless decision if you ask me.

16.) 02 Jul 2018 09:12:14

How do you know his salary?

17.) 03 Jul 2018 12:21:02
Shappy, I appreciate the point you are trying to make, however; what if Romero's recovery hits a snag or after his recovery he decides he wants regular football? Would you rather have the youngster be our number 2 or Grant? (at least until a replacement is made)

07 Jan 2015 12:23:14
Expect Man Utd to announce valdes signing very soon

1.) 08 Jan 2015 18:24:22
Boom said it before the news and before it happened

2.) 08 Jan 2015 19:57:49
Not sure what this means on the DDG front wondering why Valdes would sign as back up. Hope not but got a feeling that DDG will be used in a deal with Madrid hope not would hate for us to sell him or use him in any sort of bale deal.

3.) 09 Jan 2015 09:06:05
The least it does is put United in a stronger bargaining position, we have a quality back up if RM come in for DDG.

4.) 09 Jan 2015 11:32:00
We won't get another keeper of de gea's quality for at least ten years! I'd be gutted if we lost him! Only ones who are similar quality are Neuer and courtios, and we ain't going to get either!

24 Jan 2014 17:37:27
Everything done mata signed today, my source has no other info on the yohan cabaye enquiry, as he's not involved in that enquiry he just knows one was made, but he said there still working hard to get the second signing for the press conference to make a big statement

1.) So are you saying, he has done medical and signed and everything is completed?
Sorry hard to believe

2.) I couldn't care less if u believed me I am just telling u what I know, if u don't want my info then I won't bother

3.) Well, Wayne. According to you DM and the backroom staff will be sacked if we don't achieve Capital One Cup and 4th or better. Seeing as we are out of the cup and the staff are still in place, it would appear you are full of S. T! so no we don't believe you and yes. please don't bother!

4.) So we are hoping the second signing is a big one too then? Hope to god its Vidal, that would make a statement

5.) I wouldn't discount what Wayne says certainly regarding Cabaye and 4th spot. Let's not beat around the bush here, missing out on CL place for United would be catastrophic. Everybody assumes we would miss a year and back in the following year. I'm fairly certain that Moyes is on a performance related contract and will (IMO) struggle to stay beyond if we miss 4th spot. More rumours circulating also that Gundogan could be the man to come shortly. I'd take him or Vidal. Moyes also is in Germany isn't he?
Him and Vidal, one now and one in the summer and I think I will leak a mixture of fluids in my pants that wouldn't require a doctor :)

6.) Supasub,
i will discount everything Wayne says. The only thing he says about Cabaye is that his 'source' has no info on the matter. And his source seems to be the only person in the world that knows Mata is a done and dusted deal. which it isn't. yet. His source is just scouring the internet like the rest of us.

I agree with what you say about not getting 4th or better will be catastrophic, there are no 2 ways about it. But I still believe Moyes will be given more time to rebuild United.
SAF didn't leave because he wanted too. He clearly knew that there needed to be a massive overhaul to the squad this season, and this would be the perfect opportunity for a new manager to make their mark on United, because he had to leave sometime, and no better time than winning your 20th title!

7.) Moyes will not be sacked if we finish outside the top four. And we will just challenge for it the year after. When you drop out of it it doesn't mean it's harder to get back. That's nonsense. Chelsea finished 5th/6th a couple seasons ago and got straight back in. When Moyes has signed his targets and RvP and Rooney return to fitness, the side will settle down and start to win games.

23 Jan 2014 22:42:55
Told u all about mata a day before it can out, now it's sorted moyes is trying to make a big statement and make it a double signing with an enquiry going in for yohan cabaye expect them to move fast, press conference set for tuesday

1.) I know Wayne. All day I was looking for your post about another signing.

What do you think, we will go for Vidal or Cabaye?

2.) You also said that Moyes and his staff would be sacked if we failed to win the league cup. Given that we've been knocked out - I don't see that happening!

3.) French television station Canal+ claim that Paris Saint-Germain have already agreed a fee of €26m with Newcastle for the player, in a deal that will not be finalised until Alan Pardew signs Montpelier midfielder Rémy Cabella as a like-for-like replacement. If true, the news will come as a blow to Manchester United, who were believed to be interested in bringing Cabaye to Old Trafford.

4.) Cheshire cat

Was that what canal + said about cabella been a like for lile replacement? As from my understanding there 2 quite different players. Cabaye is a box to box midfielder and remy is more your attackin midfielder. And from what's been said the signing of cabella was to add to the newcastle team and not as a replacment. I hope this isn't true as I really hope we go all out for vidal and couldn't see us signing both.

5.) Hey wayne? are you rooney, are you rooney, are you rooney in disguise!?

6.) I rate cabaye highly to me he is the only other cm in the premierleague apart from that yaya toure who looks like he is going to score close to 10 goals as a cm. I would love cabaye in now and then someone like vidal in the summer. But the oppurtunity to return to his homeland with a psg would be appealing to most cm let alone a frech cm.

Good signing or not? I can't help but think morata, would of been a better signing. I know he's a proven premiership forward but some games he has the touch of a rapist. and goes missing, comments welcome.

1.) 08 Jul 2017 12:55:15
Has morata done more than lukaku?

2.) 08 Jul 2017 13:22:34
Better than Morata, but not better than Aguero, Kane, Lacazette, Costa. Plus dozens of others around Europe like Benzema, Cavani, Lewandowski, Suarez, Augbaumayang, Mbappe. In fact most of the clubs we expect to catch and ultimately beat will have a better centre forward. I haven't even mentioned the alternative wide attackers that can rotate as a striker like Sanchez/ Griezzman/ Neymar/ Bale/ Ronaldo/ Messi/ Hazard or players I haven't seen much of like Belotti.

We are spending £90m to fill a position that doesn't improve us beyond our rivals, man for man comparison - on a perfect day yes he can match those mentioned, but how many perfect days does Lukaku have? So we are relying on Jose applying tactics to close that gap, hmm, believe it when I see it! Too many if's but's and maybe's for pretty much a world record signing.

He improves us no doubt, but that kind of money being spent you would typically expect to advance us a lot further along. Of course most of our fans will be happy with the deal and will be excited to see this new amazing Lukaku - after all he was the only striker happy to join us, so what's £90m hey, (not our money, but it does mean there is less in the kitty doesn't it?! )

My advice is pick any 10 Random games of Everton last season to watch and if you give him a higher rating than 5/ 10 for more than 3 of those games I'd be very surprised, in fact tell me when you are next heading to the casino if you do manage it because your luck is in. Even those of you that would be prepared to die for the club and can see no wrong in anything we do, will struggle to say he did a lot last season performance wise.

He will be involved a lot more than he was at Everton (which isn't a good thing because he can't play possession football) he turns over possession more than Rooney and Ibra combined. Individual goal tallies are not as important as they used to be, especially if they play up top by themselves. So what if he scores 25, if the players around him can't score because he loses the ball so often or creates zero space for them to operate!

Where did Everton finish last season with a striker scoring his goals? Most of you are expecting a similar return to last season, maybe a few more, but that doesn't help us if our wide players and midfield struggle because they are too busy fighting 50/ 50's because Lukaku can't hold it up.

I have the same feeling I had when we signed Depay, although it seems a few more people on here are applying caution with this deal. This isn't a total downer on the signing, just the amount spent and what people expect. We are not signing a World Class striker, but we are paying a World Class fee yet again.

He improves us, but not by nearly enough.

3.) 08 Jul 2017 13:23:55
He has not scored as many league goals but has achieved a lot more. let's hope lukaku can equal his record of appearing in 2 cl finals in a row scoring in one and that he can begin to catch up on morattas medal haul. I think he is in the right place to do that. i'm sure lukaku will be a big success and will prove to be a great signing. We will never know if moratta wiuld have been a success at OT so no point looking back imo. We have signed a top notch goal scorer so let's enjoy that. I can't wait to see him playing for us.

4.) 08 Jul 2017 13:24:32
And the award for inappropriate comment of the year goes to.

5.) 08 Jul 2017 13:31:20
Morata was a key part in a Juve team that won the league and made a UCL final, and he was a key part in a Real Madrid side that won the league and the UCL final.
Okay maybe he wasn't their most important player for either side but he was a regular and scored key goals for both sides.
Lukaku has never been a regular in a title winning team and he has never been a part of a UCL team. He has however scored 20 EPL goals on three consecutive occasions.

So it is debatable which has achieved more.
I would have preferred Morata on the basis that he has proven he is capable of scoring 20 goals a season but is far more effective at bringing others into play. With the likes of Rashford, Martial, Mkhitaryan, Mata and Pogba in the team all more than capable of getting 10-15 goals maybe 20 for Rashford and Martial in a season a striker who can bring those players goalscoring chances while scoring 20 goals himself would be more beneficial than one who could score 30 while not helping add to the tallies of his teammates.

That being said I will still be very happy with the signing of Lukaku, and hope he can have a great career with us.

6.) 08 Jul 2017 13:33:15
Morata was a bit part player in a great team .

7.) 08 Jul 2017 13:34:05
Lacazette isn't as good or proven as lukaku, aguero, Kane, Costa, suarez, Messi, Ronaldo, Lewandowski, Neymar all unobtainable or unavailable, Aubamayang another whose proven what, has attitude issues? Sanchez and Griezmann, one who we may sign in the summer next and would have this but for AM transfer ban, Sanchez is the only one I'd say we could've tried for who maybe better but what more do people want a proven Prem goal scorer is what we need and have got potentially.

8.) 08 Jul 2017 13:38:17
Be interesting if morata signs for Chelsea.
Will people think we have gone further behind Chelsea.

Really pleased we signed lukaku has his pros and cons but I think it looks a good fit.

9.) 08 Jul 2017 13:39:37
Beast Lacazatte has a similar goals to games ratio as lukaku while playing in the french ligue, cavani misses more chances in a season than our team could create, Benzema got outscored by a guy who played lot less than him last season, mbappe has played one season in his career yet, how exactly are these players better than lukaku.

10.) 08 Jul 2017 13:42:47
Glad to see the positive comments about the new signing! Someone must of forgotten to take their medication this morning.
Loads of teams would of liked to have signed Lukaku he is exactly the type of striker that Mourinho loves and so he will get the best out of him. He has all his best years ahead of him.
His touch can sometimes be questioned but we all know that he can and will improve it in a team such as Utd.
Glad we didn't do business with Real. Looks like they still need to offload Rodriguez and Morata in order to get their targets but are asking too much for both.
We have pipped Chelsea which is the first time in a few years and are showing that with the fair play rules we have bigger pockets than most other teams.
So what's there not to like!

11.) 08 Jul 2017 13:44:27
He started 14 games in his last season at juve 15 at Madrid.
With players like miki pogba and co we have players who can bring others into play .
Morata scored 15 league goals in 2 seasons at juve this united team need more than that .

Which is why we have signed lukaku imo to get on the end of things and give us a really presence in the box .

12.) 08 Jul 2017 13:48:39
Peter Crouch is a proven premier league goal scorer, so is Defoe, how did their teams do over the years? Robbie Keane, Darren Bent, Phillips, Ferdinand and even Heskey were proven scorers in their day as well. How did their teams do again when they played?

Scoring goals is great, but the game has evolved with one man up top, there are other more important parts of the game that he lacks in. Better to have 4 players scoring 15 each, than one man scoring 25 and the rest 5.

I'd have rather applied the money elsewhere if a world class striker isn't available (you are guessing that none are available) . Is he much better than Rashford or Martial? Probably never know because Lukaku will play every game up top when fit, like Ibra did last season.

We need wide players more than a striker, especially if the striker is a world record signing when most of us can name 10 better strikers out there. We don't know what it would take to sign Neymar, Bale, Sanchez, Lewandowski, Suarez, Aguero, you are guessing that they were not available and maybe an extra £20m on top of the £90m we are about to pay could have gotten one of those.

I know most of us would be laughing at another club paying £90m for Lukaku.

13.) 08 Jul 2017 13:56:18
CMS - They are better players imo, goals aren't everything, it's not Sunday League footy. My post above will explain what I mean better but, Benzema yields to Ronaldo and Lukaku wouldn't last 5mins at Madrid, he'd be hounded out by Ronnie for giving the ball away all the time. Lacazette played with inferior players, just watching him he would suit us more, most of us would be more excited if we were signing Mbappe and it would make more sense for the way Utd should play football. All my own opinion, just because you can buy a player it doesn't mean you should.

I also don't care if he is a "Jose type player", I watched a Jose type team last season and it was awful watching, despite the cup wins papering over the tediously and worryingly expanding cracks.

14.) 08 Jul 2017 13:56:49
Not overly often we agree jred but I'm with you 100% on this one. Morata I'd have been happy enough with, Lukaku fits the bill more for me and as you say, if miki and Martial can step it up we already have the players at the club to do the business, it's as much about getting the best out of the undoubted talent we already have as it is several new signings.

15.) 08 Jul 2017 13:58:11
I don't no why i still get shocked at some posts on here!

BEAST u r breath takingly negative, i mean wow!

And as far as your alternatives above, even IF tbeybwere all avaialble (which they r not) there are still 50% of them that are NOT etter that lukaku for reasons posted above.

16.) 08 Jul 2017 14:19:44
It's as though Beast wants to let people know that he is right IF things go wrong. We are crying out for a player that can convert chances into goals. We signed one and goals aren't everything all of a sudden? Given what we've seen last season, if we convert more chances created, we wouldn't need to rely on Europa League to get into Champions League.

17.) 08 Jul 2017 14:20:04
Horrible simile Wayne. Not even remotely funny.

18.) 08 Jul 2017 14:08:40
why you so negative all the time beast, you moan about our team more than anyone that posts on here. Relax! Don't you think our club are enquiring about the availability of the players you have mentioned and what it would take to bring them here?

{Ed025's Note - he is not negative all the time SE...on 4th of september 2003 he actually said something nice about united.. :)

19.) 08 Jul 2017 14:23:16
I think it's negative to only focus on the negative parts of my posts.

How about my support for our existing strikers, or does their importance yield to the shiny new toy for Pogba to play with?

If Arsenal were spending £90m on Lukaku 90% of the posts on here would be saying they paid double what he is worth and saying he isn't much (or at all) better than Martial or Rash. But because we are getting bent over again, we either say thank you for the seeing to, or we are classed as negative supporters.

I have criticised Lukaku many times over the years for the things I mention above, just because we are signing him I don't see why that negates my informed opinion of the way he has played up to now. I hope he improves, because he needs to a lot.

Just because I don't agree with a lot of the decisions the club have been making in recent years it doesn't mean I support us any less. I just won't be a hypocrite and my criticisms have been proven correct more often than they haven't - despite the transference going on - don't shoot the messenger as I have nothing to gain from your agreement or disagreement. I just want useful debate and people to look at things objectively, rather than being partizan about things they have no control over especially as we all want the best for the club. Being nodding dogs is not what's best for the club, we would still have LVG if that were the case and we'd be spending £60m on Huntelaar right now!

20.) 08 Jul 2017 14:34:50
Firstly Wayne, have a word with yourself, not remotely funny.

Lukaku scores goals in the EPL, if we had put a. Umber of 'lesser' teams away at OT last year we would have been right up there. We can make this really complicated or keep it really simple, we need someone who will score a lot of goals, Lukaku has proved he can do that and not in a top 6 side. Let's see how he does in a 'better' team (sorry Ed)

21.) 08 Jul 2017 14:40:50
Ibra scored goals as well.

22.) 08 Jul 2017 14:55:46
Let's slate him before he even kicks a ball then.

Guaranga. Pathetic what I am reading above from you beast. Absolutely pathetic.

23.) 08 Jul 2017 14:58:41
If Lukaku scores goals like his record suggests and the likes of Martial, Rashford and Miki chip in with goals then we can compete with anyone in the prem. If the goals from people around Lukaku are not forthcoming like last season then we finish 2nd, 3rd or below.

Our transfer window is far from finished and i for one am happy with how's it going so far.

Was Lukaku my 1st choice no but mine and many other people 1st choices are probably not avaiable. So i'm happy with a proven prem goalscorer.

As for the money at £90 million people need to move with the times. If a Ronaldo or Messi in their prime were sold today does anyone think it would be less than £200 million to sign either of them?
It would probably be more like £250 million. With the new sky deal, correct me if i'm wrong, United probably earn around £300 to £400 million a year so if a large chunk goes on new players i for one am happy with that.

It's better than not spending it like years gone by and wanting the Glaizers out!

Some people are just never happy i guess or have very high standards like Beast!

24.) 08 Jul 2017 15:08:55
Beast I don't trust your judgement as the other day you were seriously suggesting we go in for vardy.

25.) 08 Jul 2017 15:18:40
Mourinho will not sign player to make everybody happy.

26.) 08 Jul 2017 15:28:55
Park - If I had one wish, it would be to bend space time to create a parallel universe, one where we sign Vardy for £40m and then see how we do this season compared to the one where we sign Lukaku for £90m.

The Man Utd I fell in love with played with pace and energy, Vardy is by no means a top class player but he is precisely what our team needs up front, those attributes anyway and he would be obtainable. He would keep defenders busy for 90mins and the whole team would benefit.

It's an opinion that we won't prove one way or another, but I get a lot more right than I do wrong. I think Lukaku will do ok (for £90m I'd expect amazing), but irrespective the team will not reach its full potential with him leading the line if he performs how he has up to now - he is just too clumsy and lazy. Maybe one pre-season will change all of that, who knows.

27.) 08 Jul 2017 15:32:11
Beast seriously lacazette played with inferior players, who do you think lukaku was playing with messi and ronaldo, benzema right suits real style with him playing as ronaldo's on field maid but he is no way better than either morata or lukaku.

28.) 08 Jul 2017 16:06:29
haha I even get a disagree on "Ibra scored goals as well". Farce.

CSM - Just my opinion mate, I think we would do better with Lacazette than Lukaku, plus he is half the price, but it's the larger point I'm making about not understanding the deal.

29.) 08 Jul 2017 16:36:15
Unfortunatley Beast, Lacazzette is no longer available.

So no point in dwelling on that one.

30.) 08 Jul 2017 18:17:43
I think Vardy would score loads at Utd. But then I wouldn't have sold Hernandez. LVG what a MELT 😆😆.

31.) 08 Jul 2017 18:39:08
Got to own up here Beast to the disagree on the Ibra scored goals as well comment!

At that point i was just going down the page clciking diagree on everything you wrote hoping to annoy you!

With hindsight if you think Lacazzette would have been better than Lukaku then who am I to disagree. I've not seen anything of Lacazzette so i can't comment but either way they are all just opinions and we all have be them right or wrong.

32.) 08 Jul 2017 21:31:24
The fact is, off all the alternatives you mentioned, only one of them is a proven better premier league striker than lukaku.

If it was me, I would use all the money to get Hugo lloris, world class and proven. And don't give me any crap about not being available (every player has a price no matter what) . Romero is a very very good number 2 but a decent number 1 at best.

You can't go from DDG to Romero, at a club like Man Utd, we need world class.
