Utd apparently have made an offer for Saul.

The thought that any decent player that starts for any of the top European sides would even entertain the thought of joining us right now seems more ludicrous by the day unfortunately.

If its true its just done to try and create the illusion that we are trying. Offer a low amount to a team that won't sell for a player that won't come. Seen this before.

all talk we will say he did not want to move. but we mnaged to get young to stay until the end of the season result.

This is the good ole "we tried but no one was available"

Saul is available for €100 million

Sell pogba and replace him with saul.

Get Fernandes and pay his release clause and look to signing more in the summer.

Shocking isn't it? Now a third of the way through the window and absolutely nothing even remotely looking like happening. A tribe of baboons could run that club better. The only one I feel sorry for is Ole. Loves the club but just and I don't want to disrespect the guy as I loved him as a player but it's just a bit to much for him I fear. And I don't see them ever getting any of the players linked to like Maddison either now or the summer. Sancho will go elsewhere Saul will get a better contract at Athletico or go to Barcelona. Woodward won't or can't sign players and then lies. I don't blame Raiola or Haaland. That kid should have had a red carpet piggy back to old Trafford and been promised the world with martial mooted elsewhere. And with how little they could have got him for just paid Raiola however sickening it may be someone makes that much for doing that little. With players that need to leave I reckon they need six or seven in for next season and I don't see a chance in hell it will happen. The owners are happy to see their American Football club suck. I just can't understand why when the better you do the more money you make that they have such little ambition. So sad!

We must break the bank for Saul and build a team around him.

10 Jan 2020 07:37:22
We won't buy any players ole wants in January. Because come the summer he won't be the manager, why spend millions for a manager knowing full well you have plans to sack him and employ either poch or allegri, who will have their own targets. could you imagine what poch could do with countless millions at his disposal.

10 Jan 2020 08:54:11
we hear the same thing each window. united are weighing up, considering offers etc why the heck do we never seem to have a plan in place.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jan 2020 10:04:51
We spent the first 9 days of the transfer window trying to persuade Ashley Young to stay. It's just ludicrous, I am completely lost for words. Who or what is making the decisions at that club. Nothing surprises me anymore and believe me there's more to come from the comedy club that is Manchester United.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jan 2020 10:11:47
We rarely buy players in January, the same as most teams, Ed has told us we are looking at a few but it is difficult at this time of year as clubs want a replacement. Same thing every year.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jan 2020 11:18:50
we've rarely had a squad that's in such bad shape and in need of reinforcements.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jan 2020 17:40:05
So because we need reinforcements that means other teams are more likely to sell?

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2020 06:21:17
That is how our transfer department thinks the market works GDS2.

Apparently Utd have offered Young a new deal.

If this is true, it's just ridiculous.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

09 Jan 2020 10:35:47
He might not be first choice, but Shaw and Dalot's injury history it wouldn't be a terrible idea. Plus with Matic, Mata, Jones and Rojo likely to move on having an experienced head in the dressing room wouldn't be a bad idea either. Especially someone who remembers what its like to be part of a winning Manchester United squad.

09 Jan 2020 10:39:40
Wouldn't shock me. I said last year when he got his extension that they would offer him another one. Yet more clueless decision making if true.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jan 2020 10:40:11
Jesus. I hope not. this club just gets crazier and crazier. The sooner Ole and Woodward go the better.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jan 2020 10:49:47
Update to that. According to Simon Stone he has accepted inters offer so hopefully that's true. Shows what a state we are begging the likes of young to stay and no doubt offering him a big salary to boot.

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Jan 2020 11:38:44
Just as i thought things couldn't get any worse!
So our first / main priority in the January transfer window is to try and secure the services of a 34 year old mediocre player when we are absolutely desperate for reinforcements.
The club is an absolute embarrassment.

Agree3 Disagree0

09 Jan 2020 11:47:56
Best for both parties. But crazy how it was done on Young's terms, not United's. Shows just how far the club has fallen that an average ageing player like Young does not want to play for the club anymore.

Already an unattractive proposition, Ole doesn't have pull that top managers have in attracting top talent. What a sad and sorry state of affairs Man Utd has become.

Genuinely heartbreaking. I cannot say I am angry anymore, just sad at what has happened to this great club.

Borthwick jackson recalled, young on his way.

Agree3 Disagree0

09 Jan 2020 13:07:05
He's signed pre contract for Inter. Possibly going this month if adeal reached. Borthwick-Jackson has been recalled from loan so he might be off very soon.

Echo that Park but there's more to life then United.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jan 2020 12:38:56
I like Young and think he has always acted professionally whilst wearing the shirt but this is the one position we could lose a player in as we have adequate cover.
The clueless idiots have let far more important players leave without replacing!

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Jan 2020 12:44:50
He may not be the best player or a starter anymore but Ashley Young is a model professional and deserves a bit more respect than some of you are showing him. Maybe it is some of the abuse fans give to players, that we are no longer an attractive club for players. For instance you could play for Leicester, on the up, fans get behind them and not a lot of media attention and scapegoating from the fans. Or come to us where you have a couple of bad games and all the good things you've done are forgotten. Jesse is another one that's getting it a lot too. He has been with the club since 7 years of age, yeah too he's not the best player at the club but he's not the worst. We pride ourselves on our academy and if these club made players and players that have been here for a while are getting ripped to shreds then would you want to join us? Ed02 has pointed to the toxic fans many times, and the way the club reacts to these 'fans' opinions.

09 Jan 2020 13:02:29
We should be glad he's wanting to leave he's 34. past it. isn't anywhere near 2nd or 3rd choice

We have plenty of full backs

Another player on high wages off the books

We need to be looking for the future not lingering on the past.

Even Young has tuned us down now.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jan 2020 13:58:11
My initial reading of Shappy's comment was that "Matic, Mata, Jones and Rojo likely to move on having experienced head in the dressing room"
On re-reading I've noticed and "an" in his sentence so everything now makes more sense.

On Young, I'm assuming the extension offer was simply to appease the fans before a sale goes through. Time to move on. We should focus on new arrivals.

Brothwick-jackson is recalled from his loan spell to cover squad role for young i guess, so apparantly i believer new Deal for Young is not a true news.

Far too much doom and gloom going about - ole is getting rid of the deadwood - he has made 3 good signings - 2 more decent signings will transform this team - neves/ mcginn - van de beek/ grealish - the good times are coming.

2? You’re deluded dude.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jan 2020 22:39:39
If the plan is to develop youth and bring in quality then why would we worry about selling a winger covering the full back position? Young has been a good player for United but nothing more. Roll the dice.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jan 2020 22:54:44
Not deluded at all - i have seen them outplay and beat this season Man City, Leicester, Spurs and Chelsea and more than match Liverpool. Its a young team and its frustratingly inconsistent but its coming and it will get there with a few tweaks.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jan 2020 01:05:34
Tweaks. new manager, 7-8 new players, new backroom staff, new board, new director of football, etc etc.

Rumours that we are closing in on Arturo Vidal and Eriksen.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

vidal pre Barcelona would have been a great signing, not seen to much of him since.

easily would walk into the team i agree norn.

Yeah.
Vidal before 4-5 years would have been an absolute warrior in midfield.

09 Jan 2020 09:37:46
Gotze - 27 and contract ending - worthy of a shot as is capable of being excellent.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jan 2020 09:39:23
We need midfielders and a bit of experience it's a no brainer. Won't cost a arm and a leg.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jan 2020 10:05:55
Vidal is apparently a terrible professional and past his best. Maybe not the ideal player to bring in if true, we have a lot of young impressionable players in our squad.

Agree3 Disagree0

09 Jan 2020 11:19:39
vidal in his prime was a great player, a bit old now and a red card waiting to happen he's a lunatic.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jan 2020 12:27:20
Sly Sports recently reported we have ruled out a bid for Eriksen.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jan 2020 12:30:55
See Vidal when he came on against us? He was awful. Am over the shop and just diving in every chance giving needless could away.

Sly Sports have posted United not in for Eriksen.

Go all out for Saul or Fabian.

Umtiti is available and is better than what we have.
