Reports that CR7 may take the reins from Ole?

1.) 16 Nov 2021 08:49:37
After last night it looks like he'll be taking them from the Portuguese national team manager as well.

Did any of you guys hear Roy Hodgson on Sky Transfer Talk tonight?

Made some great points regarding your issues.

1.) 07 Jan 2022 21:16:04
Im sure he did, like the ideas he used to have about your issues, how did that go?

2.) 07 Jan 2022 21:24:46
Touche Dbrooks :)

3.) 07 Jan 2022 21:35:47
Maybe just have a listen and make your own mind up Dbrooks :)

4.) 08 Jan 2022 16:33:38
Not defensive there dbrooks90, lad was only pointing out an interview.

03 Jan 2022 20:53:12
It was all Ole's fault and they clapped him off last game. Sadly its an accumulation of very money minded players too big for their boots (mercenaries)

1.) 03 Jan 2022 21:00:03
Not often I agree with a Liverpool fan but you’re spot on. Think the myth of us having a good squad has now been debunked. Maybe the names on paper look good but they are all massively underperforming, don’t compliment each other and they don’t fit a style of play. Too many signings based on name and shirt sales rather than building a squad. Problem will be getting rid and building the right group to go forward. Give this lot to ten Haag and we will be having the same problems.

2.) 03 Jan 2022 21:05:21
It needs a mass clear out but will never happen. Too many wannabe’s on ridiculous wages. Thanks Wooden Top. The first to be gone would be Rashford so overrated it’s laughable
At least we’d get some decent money for him because there’d be some mug who’d pay it.

3.) 03 Jan 2022 21:48:50
We might actually fall lucky in the summer, more by accident than design . Martial, Cavani, Pogba, Lingard, Mata, will go .

VDB, Matic, Jones probably joining them. Hell of a lot of salaries saved there and space freed up.

One of Bailly/ Lindelof and Henderson and maybe Telles could be leaving.

Few decent kids coming through as well. Not finishing top 4 could have an effect on who comes in of course.

Dont know what's gone on at Everton but i'm a fan of the full back Digne - he will soon get snapped up somewhere.

4.) 03 Jan 2022 21:55:06
A collection of player not a team. Have to say that Phil jones had a decent game that was the only positive.

5.) 03 Jan 2022 23:14:58
It is more than evident now that no manager could turn this collection of players into a proper footballing team. We are severely lacking in many areas. Our central midfield is devoid of creativity, our full backs are inadequate and our wide players appear to be afraid to go at the opposition. I feel sorry for Rangnick. He clearly thought he had inherited a team which just needed tweaking. It certainly needs more than a tweak.

6.) 03 Jan 2022 23:33:33
I disagree Jodler. We had found a platform. We had our limitations, we played crap for large periods the last 2 years but one thing was for sure: When we had to attack we overturned matches for fan. It was clearly that this team was better at the front foot and someone (coach) hold them back. I said at the time that we will see the intentions of Ole (and if he wants to be proactive) if he makes a number 6 absolutely necessary-that would give us the platform to play on the front foot.
Instead we buyed two more attackers to "win us matches" and instead of improving we regressed. We now are the Ronaldo show, Bruno can't play as talisman because his role of finding space next to attacker is Ronaldos role lately, we have not 3 quick players behind the striker interchanging and we no pace. Then we have an average (at least for now) player in Sancho who must play to find his feet. A front six of Nevez Scott Bruno Greenwood Kavani Rashford would be a far better team with far better balance and a lot cheaper.

7.) 04 Jan 2022 09:23:25
I think it's becoming clear just what sort of limitations Ole was working with in terms of the squad he had.

On paper it looks good, but on the pitch they just can't hack it.

Too many players with poor attitudes and weak mentalities.

It means if they aren't "up for it" then they can't perform.

Being an elite athlete isn't about just training your body and turning up. It's about training your mind and developing good habits. It's about being able to make yourself "up for it" regardless of other factors.

You and your Mrs have an argument fine, but you don't bring that to training and you don't carry it on to the pitch.

You learn to put that aside and focus on your game.

8.) 04 Jan 2022 10:30:48
Rashford seems more worried his looks these days with his silly new blond haircut and new body art (tattoos)
He's been absolutely crap for about 18 months now and his body language whilst playing on the football pitch is shocking.

I don't know where Ralph goes from here, there are so many players at that club just are just taking the p*ss if frightening.

If i was a top flight manager i wouldn't go near the place, it's toxic from top to bottom.

9.) 04 Jan 2022 11:27:52
sim players can have lives outside of football, the hair cuts ect don't bother me they have a life.

what does bother me is the lack of work on the pitch, the lack of effort, the body language of not being bothered, which then makes people question there outside football life.

rr isn't daft we have already seen players dropped, he knows we need players but players need to also leave.

10.) 04 Jan 2022 12:08:07
Hate to say it but Ronaldo has completely changed the dynamic of the team, whether it be everyone in awe of him to the detriment of the team, others feeling less confident or marginalised, copying his focus on the individual and not the team, etc, etc,

Ragnick must be brave and use him as an impact sub, as well as Cavani as a sub, focus on youngsters such as Greenwood and Elanga and ruthlessly prune the bloated squad asap.

23 Nov 2021 19:45:36
Not best performance, De Gea made some great saves but bet that felt good guys?

{Ed014's Note - I loved it mate!

1.) 23 Nov 2021 20:03:12
Decent result we are through, no one has beaten them at home outsode of spain for years, sancho scored. that's about it for positives.

2.) 23 Nov 2021 20:44:40
Had control of the game from about 15 mins onwards. We had a little more intensity, better passing and bit more structure. Nice to see Telles and DVB start, Sancho did well, got a goal and I thought Fred played well too. Maguire always looks like he has a mistake in him and A few hospital passes.

3.) 23 Nov 2021 22:30:55
Solid, professional, and a win. Something we have not seen in ages. Was good to see. Enjoyed it.

4.) 23 Nov 2021 20:40:49
Ed,

You’re confusing, I know you’re gutted Ole has left but as they say sarcasm is the lowest form of wit.

Decent last 30 minutes, Carrick got the subs right, obviously he’s not going to be the manager but good that he’s got something out of them that quickly.

{Ed014's Note - and you’d 100% know all about sarcasm and yes well done Carrick although in reality it just shows how weak he was as one of Ole’s “world class coaches” as he described them.

You’ve been decent under Ole too but that’s about it, decent.

19 Nov 2021 18:58:21
Game set up lovely for weekend
Seasoned pro manager with great CV and honors to match, bang average team[Sarr apart]. Players fighting for survival and recognition vs rookie manager poor CV but with an abundant of riches to choose from, superstar players with nothing to prove to themselves and poor mentality. Really looking forward to see how it pans out :)

1.) 19 Nov 2021 23:14:22
I think we can win this one and I wouldn't be shocked to see a big win.
There are players that need to be dropped and players that deserve a chance to play.
Can ronaldo be sanchos haaland?
Would vdbs ability to keep possession and ball ticking over be worth a shot?
Matic when fresh is our best defensive midfielder. Surely he is fresh?
I'm hoping we see an attacking approach and for once I really think we will.
Ole should be going all out for 3 wins in the next 3 games. Throw caution to the wind and come out fighting.
Win this one is all they can do tomorrow. I think they will.

2.) 20 Nov 2021 01:23:47
Jonesy, this match is defunately one that we all; supporters and rivals alike will be watching with a keen eye. I really hope we win but I hope we win well. Ken, that's how he should roll the dice but I doubt he will. He will revert to safety and hope. Lets's see.

3.) 20 Nov 2021 11:46:39
Whatever, the fans win.
Beat Watford and get some false elation or alternatively lose or draw will delight us with another nail in the coffin.
As ever these days I find myself wishing we could have both.

4.) 20 Nov 2021 14:19:37
@Jonesy. Just one correction. Ole isn't a rookie manager. He's just a crap manager.

18 Nov 2021 20:24:00
God its a boring week : (
How many of you guys were calling for Ole's head last season? You played some great footy and I had trouble keeping Bruno and Shaw out of my fantasy team.
What's changed?

1.) 18 Nov 2021 20:42:21
I have wanted him gone for years.

2.) 18 Nov 2021 20:47:50
I mean with performances?

3.) 18 Nov 2021 22:15:53
A few have wanted him gone for a while but you are right, at times last season we played some good football and obviously went on the great away run of results but our home form was pretty poor and we were turgid in a lot of the away games we won, relying on moments of brilliance. I felt that he had a lot of issues and should have probably gone after the Europa final, he had taken us as far as he could at that point, improved things from where they were when he took over and left a much better squad for a new manager coming in.

I don’t think the club felt he had done enough wrong to be sacked last season, this season he definitely has and his position is now untenable.

4.) 18 Nov 2021 22:40:53
Thanks GDS, he was lucky with league position in a season that was an anomally. Any other year and he may have been found wanting a lot sooner.

5.) 18 Nov 2021 23:01:08
Great footy?

6.) 18 Nov 2021 23:36:19
Jonesy, he failed when the Chips are down. He bottled it at every semi and in the final of Europa Cup.
Also, as I said previously, we were top of the league last year at new year, team lost at home to Sheffield United and he told the press we were not title contenders. That in my book, sums up solskjaer, he simply is not good enough. Would Klopp or Pep have said that? The guy is so out of his depth.

7.) 19 Nov 2021 00:09:15
There are old polls going back its been done about 6 times in the last 3 years jonsey.
I have wanted him out like stand from very early on.
I'd say at a complete guess at the end of last season maybe 20% wanted him out.
Maybe 55% would have had no qualms about him being fired but felt 2nd and a Europe league final showed enough progress to warrant him a bit more time. However would not have been too vocal if he was let go.
The remaining 25% felt he was doing a good job and should definitely stay.
Now they are not real numbers just my feeling on what I read and see and speak to people about.
Shaw did have a good season, 2 in a row really, and a very good euros. He is experiencing a bad dip in form for a while now. Looks very jaded and needs to be left out for a few games imo. He looked like he was begining to fulfill his potential. He just needs a bit of a break to get his body and mind aligned again and if telles comes in and does well then he has a proper fight on his hands.
I'd wimagine Bruno would be in most fantasy teams for the goals assists mom's etc but he also was jaded last season and whilst the stats look good again this season I personally think he is impacting on games less. I know AJH would agree with me on that one. He is having good moments but less influence on games overall imo. But often his moments win us a game or gets us out of jail.
I'm watching through a very critical eye and I'm aware my bias make it hard to see any positives over his entire tenure.
Our squad is hopelessly bloated and as a result completely unbalanced and our 1st choice and 2nd choice cf's are 37 and 34.
Our only special-ist holding midfielder is 33.
Half a dozen players that have started less that 50 games between them in 2 years costing 5 m a year each. With youth players on their back not getting a look in.
It's a mad situation.

8.) 19 Nov 2021 06:29:52
Didnt want him in the first place, wanted him gone after his temporary tenure ended and that hasn't changed since.

9.) 19 Nov 2021 07:02:46
Jonesy

I said clearly on here when he was a temp that it was an error to make him permanent. I referred to him as the failed relegated Cardiff manager and stood by it since then. He set up with the Cardiff mentality, pacy counter attack, which worked for a while because it wasn’t expected of United. Once teams became savvy he has struggled tactically. Now he is badly struggling, the city loss flagged the enormous gulf in management. Frankly, it’s embarrassing he is still there.

10.) 19 Nov 2021 07:55:09
I too wanted him gone last season.

One reason was getting dumped out of Champions League in the group stage. (His indecision for Fred's red card was a sackable offense) .

Another reason was the Europa League final defeat (His stubborn refusal to not use any subs and his favoritism were disgusting) .

400m spent and not having a distinct style of play shows the coaching incapability.

11.) 19 Nov 2021 08:57:22
tbh jonesy the run of away results masked the performances and he has been hanging on for a while: he got the job by good luck rather than good judgement and although he is perceived as a utd legend that title is fading quicker the longer he stays.

For me, the tie in europe with not subbing fred and the debacle that followed was the time to go. AS WELL AS THAT i am never comfortable with the slavva that pours when we are beaten and the false smile; it becomes so annoying.

12.) 19 Nov 2021 14:46:24
I wanted him gone soon after he started; as soon as I realised it was more of the same crap, boring football we had experienced under Moyes, LVG and Jose.

13.) 19 Nov 2021 22:48:30
I think everyone wanted him to succeed Nd most hoped he would. I think the vast majority of fans however have always had doubts about whether he was good enough, we all just wished he would have been.

After some of the performances of late those players need to take a long hard look at themselves. Maquire and Fernandes were unbelievably poor yesterday and no matter how bad the tactics/ instructions are its no excuse. i'd be worried as a fan when so many internationals can be made to look like clowns by such a poor side.
Happy that you all have your wish and Ole has gone. Will be interesting to see what the club decide as a solution moving forward. I know many of you don't have much faith in the guys upstairs and that's concerning. Carricks bemused face on the bench yesterday was a picture and I don't see him inspiring much of a change but Fletcher at least had a bit about him when he played and might get some fight into the players.
Surely thing can only get better.
