If a company provides it's managers with the wrong tools, software, materials and personnel to do a job then it is entirely unreasonable for them to be angry when the final product is not fit for purpose.
Imagine a mechanic being given a 1 inch spanner for a 25mm bolt. Sure it will work to certain extent but eventually it will fail catastrophically. Replacing the spanner with another 1 inch spanner will end up in the same way. If the bits don't match, one or the other or even both will eventually fail.
Sadly it's a fact that many companies work on the theory that as long as sales outweigh returns or customer complaints then all is good in the world.
We are those customers. Not enough people with influence can or will complain enough to make them worry. For every 10, 000 that do not buy tickets or merch another 10,000 will. That is one problem with brand loyalty.
If the manager requests and is provided the correct tools and still provides a poor product then it's fine to let him go.
Until INEOS give their managers meaningful input on players and go and get them then we are on a hiding to nothing. Nearly every manager since SAF has highlited the issue and yet here we still are. I have never understood this trend for the clubs dictating which players are bought.
I am not advocating that Carrick is the man, but until we fix the rot above we will just be going round again and it has to stop!
I personally have dropped my United membership, have not bought shirt in years but do United care? NOT ONE JOT!
We can rant all we like but until the poisonous hierarchy are gone we are royally screwed. But why would they? They're making money regardless of the product. That's business.
21 Sep 2026 22:41:58
⁰this is bs. Ten Hag and Van Gaal were given the say and they spunked 650m quid up the wall.
22 Sep 2026 03:28:19
Not a matter of wrong tools it's a matter of cheap tools, you either buy at the Market or buy Snap on tools. (Top quality for those that don't know) Then of course you have different level Mechanics some are fitters who just can only replace parts, which most are in 2026 and then some are true mechanics that can actually fix a part and make it work.
Sadly with have cheap tools and a 2026 fitter
There lies the problem . If you take it further it's the people who bought the cheap tools and the 2026 fitter they employed.
22 Sep 2026 10:06:32
I said nearly but thank you for your constructive criticism. Eloquent as always.
22 Sep 2026 07:02:41
I said nearly, I also said if a manager is given the tools then he deserves to go. But thanks for your insightful input so eloquently stated.
JSU - fair call. I was assuming capable mechanics. Some would indeed make a mess of it even with the right tools and perhaps Carrick sits in that bracket. However I feel he has potential given the right cattle.
22 Sep 2026 08:43:19
Completely disagree.
If I move to a new company, I would be expected to learn their systems, use the tools at my disposal and adapt to a new way of working.
Do you think people are regularly walking into their CEOs office demanding new software because they can't do their job? No, its a deflection due to incompetence. The scenario is completely incomparable to being a coach at a football club.
22 Sep 2026 13:52:26
United should be too big to keep relying on potential
Nearly every player we buy nowadays is about potential, so you can't have a potential manager trying to teach more potential, it just won't work, or if it does could take years and years United not in that position and football in general don't allow it.
Sesko. potential Yoro Potential, Heaven potential, Santos potential,
Evens Potential coach, Woodgate potential coach, Carrick Potential manager this is a lot of cross your fingers stuff, I honestly don't see 1 of that list of potential even making it big time IMO. Anyway.
22 Sep 2026 21:48:57
I disagree Kurtis. If I am brought in to improve the product and it is clear that the tools and process in place are not fit for purpose then I would definitely be bringing that to the management. Otherwise the product fails again and I get the sack. A yes man would just sit in the corner and comply to keep the peace leaving the management believing that their processes are fine.
It is not a deflection it is professionalism and confidence in your ability to fix the issues.
It was a perfectly reasonable anaolgy.

Mainoo and Rashford have pulled out of the English squad.
Mainoo was not injured at the weekend. Rashford has an injury apparently.
I'm surprised either were selected in the 1st place.
22 Sep 2026 04:30:16
Yep and TT might bring in a 16 year old, so clearly it don't matter what age you are if your good enough maybe a lesson here
Players today think that why bother going on international duty no World Cup for 4 years which probably TT be gone by then and no euros for 2 years so why bother now, it's a sign of the times I'm afraid, but it's no coincidence the likes of Kane, Ronaldo's, Messi's always turn up for majority of internationals even when carrying injuries, it's a totally different mindset of today's pampered players, who think they no need to work there **** off, they think they are all world beaters already.
Cole Palmer tired and he had all summer off too it's all becoming a joke.
21 Sep 2026 16:10:13
I just saw carricks interview after I turned off before the end v Fulham. He needs firing and right now.
To say they were not passive was the last straw for me. I am never one for constant change, but I feared thst Washford would be the lowest common denominator with his lazy and lax tracking back, energy amd running and tgats exactly what's going on right now. He is contaminating the team with the vibes and energy which is lack of energy and failing to gmflog himself to death. that's now spreading like ebola qcross the whole team.
Its totally unacceptable in every way. Get out and get a manager in who will communicate from the bench not stand there like a wally without a brolly.
21 Sep 2026 17:35:01
I thought it was a very telling interview.
The performance was undeniably passive. When Fulham had the ball, the United players set up in three straight lines across the pitch and behind the ball. There was zero pressing. For the entire game, all we did was pack bodies behind the ball and wait for them to make a mistake.
Carrick's comments felt like a defence of his tactics, rather than the players. For me, it was obvious that the players had been told to do this. You could see that their immediate focus out of possession was to get into a rigid defensive shape. They did this over and over again. It wasn't an accident, or solely down to lack of effort. It was Carrick's response to the Brighton capitulation.
21 Sep 2026 18:42:35
What turned me off ole the most was the nonsense he talked the gormless expessions and the fact that he looked a shadow of himself.
I'm firmly of the opinion that stadards dropped the most under his tenure and we've not recovered since I've said many times that until we sell every player here under him then we won't recover fully.
Dalot shaw maguire rashford and bruno are the surviving members of that exclusive club.
4 of then make up our snr players leadership group.
I saw a downwards shift in so many standards under ole and its lingered ever since imo.
A lethargy a lack of effort and hard running. Passive and easy to play against. Players egos not matching their results.
I was a firm advocate of rashford not staying. I said that carrick would need to own the impact it could have and it maybe the sword he falls on.
He wouldn't leave so carricks hands were tied to an extent but he needs to evaluate if he should be in the team or squad everyweek.
I think he is very consevative as a coach and manager.
He needs to improve and we need to see that improvement on the pitch through his players.
21 Sep 2026 19:00:54
G Neville is bang on with his assessment. I’m sick of this s*****.
21 Sep 2026 19:17:30
True but Neville said they should have given him the job permanently, when it was obvious that they shouldn't have.
21 Sep 2026 19:18:15
I have figured it out! Carrick plan that is.
He cannot beat the low block teams so he counters it by playing the low block.
That is what we witnessed. Two low blocks just trying not to lose. If Martinez had not scored the OG, I dare say it would likely have ended 0-0, potentially a 1-0 to us.
What I found astounding was that apparently a record was set in the first half for total number of shots in one half.
22 Sep 2026 06:54:15
Yes but only 6 of those 20 something shots were on target and only 2 of those were ours.
21 Sep 2026 15:44:43
I've supported this club for >60 years through thick and thin, but what I saw yesterday caused me to wonder whether it's worth the emotional stress to invest my time, emotions and money following a club where the players are so completely unready to do what it takes to compete at the highest level. When I factor in what Man Utd's ownership embodies with its leveraged debt financing, chemicals, gas guzzlers, and tax exiles, it almost seems obligatory to stop contributing to it.
So, after yesterday I decided to cancel the main EPL streaming platform here I the US. The $50 a month saving will pale in comparison to the reduced emotional stress watching this shell of a team.
21 Sep 2026 16:46:58
You aren't alone.
21 Sep 2026 19:20:20
It is time for the fanbase to talk with their feet and stop the stream of revenues into the club.
It may seem counterproductive but a relegation would be the best thing for this club right now.
21 Sep 2026 19:20:36
Newname, if it bothers you that much your better off walking away / not watching as nobody needs unwanted stress.
If you can't get enjoyment out of your hobby what's the point in the hobby?
21 Sep 2026 22:48:21
Newname, I am with you. I totally am. I am 55, I have NEVER turned off before the final whistle until Fulham. That was after I irrationally and embarrassingly was in such a terrible angry frustrated mood after Brighton AND City, lost my s*** faith my dogs, my fiancee and the delivery guys from deliveroo and anyone else uncrotusnte enough to come within 100 yards of me. I don't need the negativity. I have IPTV for $80 a year. Its not the dollars it the depression i need to avoid
21 Sep 2026 15:06:13
Carrick isn't getting sacked over the international break, so let's not go down that route and I'd be surprised if he goes before Christmas unless things completely fall apart. He earned some time after getting United back into the Champions League last season.
If he does eventually go, I really can't see Berrada and Wilcox going for Conte. Remember what happened at Spurs? He publicly called out the players, questioned the club's culture and ownership, and was gone. United have made a point of wanting a head coach who works within their football structure. Can you really see them appointing someone with Conte's history of publicly challenging a club's leadership when things go wrong?
Carrick and Holland now have three weeks to figure out how to get this team working again.
Firstly, Baleba should make a difference. He's still coming back from injury, but I think he and Mainoo could be the first green shoots of a midfield partnership that serves us well for the next few years. Baleba can provide the defensive cover and energy we've been missing since Casemiro left, allowing Mainoo to concentrate on controlling possession and progressing the ball.
Bruno has been out of sorts, and when he's off his game, the whole team seems to suffer. We need him to find his form again and get back to doing what he does best, creating chances further up the pitch rather than constantly having to drop deep.
Then there's Rashford. He's been good since coming back, but he still feels a bit like an outsider, playing as an individual rather than being fully integrated into the team. I'd rather go back to what worked last season, with Cunha, Bruno, Mbeumo and Sesko as our attacking four. Rashford could then come on later in the game and use his pace against tiring defenders.
There's also been a lot of talk about fitness, but for me it's the intensity and application that matter. Opta's stats show we're joint-bottom in the league for high-speed runs so far this season, while our out of possession figures are even more concerning. We're bottom for sprints and time spent running at high intensity when we don't have the ball. That's the pressing, closing down, tracking back and chasing opponents that we're not doing enough of as a team.
Whether it's fitness, application or the way we're being set up, something needs to change. We need to start working harder as a unit and make it much more difficult for teams to play through us.
We don't need to reinvent the wheel. Carrick and Holland need to find the right balance, get the players working together again and build on what was already working last season.
21 Sep 2026 16:36:42
Grim,
It really should be a case of Carrick and Holland have three weeks to sort it out. Clearly neither have a plan B. It is a simple 4231, followed by left to centre to right and back again, with no overlapping fullbacks.
Teams who play low block, know United will just pass it around and try to ping it in. The coaching staff have know idea to overcome low block teams, even teams that play a pressing game. Fortunately, United have been quite lucky that their counter attacking football works quite well against pressing teams.
Rashford, is working his socks off. But his end product is dreadful. All he needs to do is lift his head up and look for a teammate.
A couple more bad results and Carrick will be gone.
I do think the club need to sell Bruno, to allow the team to develop a new style, similar to when when RvN was sold and Saha played up front. The team played better football, as they played as a team. Overiliance on individual players will become detrimental to a clubs success over a period of time. Bruno will be 33 next September, you can't continue to build or rebuild a team around older players.
21 Sep 2026 19:36:58
Conte wouod be hilarious tbh ? but we can't sack another manager, especially 5 games in..no point, because the same clowns above him are there. Until the parasites sell up, this is United now. a shell of what it once was all caused by them yank scum.
21 Sep 2026 22:55:34
Its the owners we need out. Barbara proved himself under a proper owner, willow has done th same. Being great at your job requirs freedom, financial and operational. SJR is far worse than I ever thought possible. Driving out cost for no actual reason. othwr than dividends. And adding to the debt pile. Get eh feck out of the club, the scumbag leeches and get in a trophy ego owner like Abramovich, Maktoum, or even Elon Musk.
He's a Man United fan. Got to ensure they are true investors and pleasure owners though, with a typical ten year investment plan before taking out. The transfer fees this summer mean we are now 4 to 5 years behind when dealing with the economics of these grasping fools.
22 Sep 2026 09:20:00
Elon Musk?
I've really heard it all now.
21 Sep 2026 14:39:17
It's not the Manager, it's the club. Stay with me.
I'm not saying Carrick is the right man, far from it, but sack him, appoint a new Manager and rinse and repeat.
Look at Briggton and Brentford, they change the Manager and they keep on rolling, because they have a sound structure, a clear ethos, a robust transfer strategy, yada yada yada.
Compare that to United, the DOF overruling the Recruitment Director on targets, a squad that appears unprepared for the season, a player that asks to leave is now first choice, and that's since we put professionals in charge.
Moyes was never qualified for the job, Van Gaal was but got his 4th or 5th choice targets. Jose said finishing second was his best ever achievement, Ole was a sentimental but flawed choice, ETH and Amorim were promising coaches who struggled massively, and depsite the Ile mistake, here we are again. I like Carrick, he did very well last year, but in the cold light of day, he isn't qualified for the job, and that's before you factor in the mess behind the scenes.
Ralf called it out, Jose did to a lesser extent, and the change of ownership dhould have addressed the core issues, but it seems not. How is Wilcox qualified to be DOF at United? He isn't. I'd also love to k nw what Berrada does all day.
Conte would last 5 minutes before flouncing out when he sees behind the scenes, Howe would be another nodding dog, and whilst I love Emery, would he really achieve anything in this environment?
Aim your vitriol at Carrick all you like, and he certainly isn't helping himself at the moment (nor did Amorim), but do you see anything changing if we change Manager?
21 Sep 2026 15:12:47
Famous last words, but I think we will be fine this season and the international break has come at a good time for us.
By fine i mean, will finish in the top 5 and get out of the group stage of the champions league, which is clearly the aim from the top to become a regular champions league team again as a foundation.
The return to fitness of Baleba and Amad will bring much needed energy/intensity to our game and Sesko staying fully fit will allow us to have a focal point to play off.
21 Sep 2026 15:34:30
Maybe DSG, but if the problem is a fall off in fitness standards leading to a general inability to match other team's effort on the pitch, then I don't think it matters who we put out there, we will be outfought, outrun, out-tackled and outplayed. The EPL is a very competitive physical environment and every team is stocked with hard working players who take pride in what they're doing. Thus far this season we have shown some flashes of quality but it's not enough. Without matching the physical effort, doing the hard work, running, sprinting, engaging the opposition in all areas of the field, quality is of limited value.
I was one of those who believed Carrick deserved a chance, but maybe it's absolutely the case that his success was built on the changes Amorim brought in. If the root of the problem is poor training methods then the pusillanimous start to the season is entirely down to Carrick and his crew, and it will continue. Buying a new full back will not solve the problem. Every new player just sinks into the old rut, their ability and promise withering on the vine. That's pretty much the story of United since SAF and Gill departed. There's simply no excuse for the team being unable to match or outmatch our opponents work rate.
21 Sep 2026 15:39:41
I completely understand the argument that the club's structures are the biggest problem. In fact, I agree. The second the Ineos crew sided with Wilcox over Ashworth, I stopped taking them seriously.
However, Carrick's appointment is another one of their mistakes. Regardless of his success as interim, he should never have been in the running for the job, let alone got it. He's woefully out of his depth and isn't helping. I don't see how dawdling on replacing him has any benefit.
My view is that the club should admit that appointing an inexperienced manager was a mistake, correct it, and hold the people responsible for his appointment accountable. Wilcox should have been fired after the whole Amorim fiasco, and needs to go too.
Carrick isn't responsible for the state of the club, but he is responsible for getting the most out of the squad. Yesterday's game wasn't a simple case of lack of effort. I every time Fulham had possession, the players formed into 3 stationary lines behind the ball. For me this must be what the players were instructed to do. The manager clearly identified maintaining a rigid defensive shape as the takeaway from the Brighton defeat. That's why he was so personly when reporters called out the lack of intensity. Not because he was protecting his players. Because they were doing what he asked them to do.
21 Sep 2026 16:46:26
AJH,
I don't think Howe would be another nodding dog, otherwisenhe would have stayed at Newcastle.
Utd are in an unfortunate position, whereby picking an unknown manager such as Jaissle, would be seen as potentially unambitious, due to the statute of the club and a lack of EPL experience.
However, juat look at Hurzeler, he is doing a brilliant job. Even Andrews at Brentford is doing well. Those clubs have solid structures, and generally buy really well.
Personally, I think Wilcox loves himself, and likes to dick swing alot. We know he caused problems for RA, where even SJR considered sacking him.
21 Sep 2026 21:27:50
This is hilarious AJH. When you had a bee in your bonnet about Amorim, it was the win rate and not the club, it was squarely the manager.
People said it was the club and the crop of players, you shot them down.
Next time exercise some patience, the grass isn't always greener.
We now have player power back at the club about to get another manager sacked.
Here's a blueprint.
Install a manager that kills player power dead, from day 1
Trust SJR to make the necessary change to the hierarchy (Wilcox and probably berrada need to go at this point)
Stabilise the foundations
Grow from there, one season at a time, brick by brick.
21 Sep 2026 23:03:22
The only reason the internsti9nal break has come at the right time is because I don't have to watch that utter shyte one or twic3 a week for at least a few weeks. Gives me time to develop other habits on a weds and a Sunday. So I am not tempted to tune back in. I cannot 2atch any more of that. Ever. Its disgusting. This is not Man Utd. When we were garbage in the late 79s and most of the 80s, it was a thrill to be in the Stretford end and feel the passion drive and desire albeit we didn't have all the better players.
But the players were men, they bled, hobbled and went out on their swords. I used to join them in the Deanwater on a Sunday to celebrate or dornw sorrows and put the world to rights. They did everything in a committed, cavalier and yet brave way. Remo moses whitesid3 Robson macgrath, Wallace macilroy albiston Anderson, davenport, Thomas, and many more. This lot, pull out of tackles faster than a 14 year old lad when his girls parents arrive home 3arly. They're gutless and weak willed.
22 Sep 2026 04:36:19
Many on here live in yesteryear the reality is times have changed United have changed keep harping back to recent history of Fergie too, those times have gone . Fergie Keane or any of those would struggle in today's world of pampered footballers you have kids who never kicked a ball for first team going home with 40k a week, football as created this attitude it's now got to deal with it, the problem is we have to watch it too
15 years olds think they are the worlds best, do I like it NOPE but it's what the world as become SJR got one thing wrong in his quote about U. K. on the slide, its most the world on the slide.
21 Sep 2026 10:56:50
I don't understand the big thing about getting conte in. Failed at Chelsea, failed at Spurs, so what? Comes here, fails at United and we move on to yet another manager that will be great for 10/15 games and then back down to our usual level?
21 Sep 2026 11:54:09
Won a title at Chelsea
Spurs similar to us if you speak out against what then obviously was the issue you get sacked
Just like when ralf said what we needed, and Amorim calling out the people above too
Anyone half decent coach is better than carrick. He's not got a scooby doo.
21 Sep 2026 14:01:46
I suspect that people want Conte because he's more antagonistic to players if he feels like they're slacking. But that's how Amorim was and he wasn't able to get much out of these players either.
For me, the two people I would be looking at are Emery and Howe.
Emery is excellent at organising his teams. It's a no frills style of football in which everyone has a clear role, and he's happy to sacrifice talent for effort. I also think that he's very adult in his treatment of players, there's no sense that he's harsh or abrasive. He just sets clear expectations and players that don't meet them don't play. Emery is the best person to sort out or defensive issues.
Howe is less proficient in terms of organisation, but his Newcastle side played a more expansive style of football. Most importantly, they were pretty good at pressing and using physicality to put teams under pressure. I would see Howe as someone that could potentially inject a bit of much needed energy back into the squad. Newcastle had very good distance covered stats under him. The problem is that he had players at Newcastle that were willing to put in the hard yards.
Either way, both Emery and Howe would be an upgrade on Carrick.
21 Sep 2026 14:43:34
Mrlee, if Conte failing at Chelsea I take that considering he won Premier League and FA Cup that's hardly failing and what is it 9 major trophy's as a manager must be dozen or more as a player I like that failure rate very much indeed . Would it work at United not a chance because he won't suffer Wilcox or SJR for that matter.
But to label him as failed at Chelsea Is plain stupidity.
21 Sep 2026 18:50:09
He has won most places he has coached. He is a winner. He's not a long term coach for any club as he eventually falls out with the wrong player or exec.
Proper head case at times so to speak, very emtional and unpredictable.
A very good proven trouble shooter.
Could be a good watch with him and wilcox??
Carrick does need improve our play results quickly.
22 Sep 2026 00:14:34
But then any half decent coach wouldn't touch us with a barge pole at the moment, and why would they.
22 Sep 2026 04:39:01
He is a total winner, be prepared for 2 years of fireworks too, but new coaches every 2 years suits me, I don't go with this fairytale notion that many on here have about build for years, those days long gone, players don't stay, managers don't stay, football and life in 2026 is all about the here and now, not 3 years to build a team, backwards, that's pie in the sky philosophy.
21 Sep 2026 23:05:29
Its the only thing would get me back watching. I could have smashed my TV watching that gormless puppet rubbing his chin like he couldn't fathom what was happening and didn't give a single instruction or command. Managers MANAGE they don't observe.
22 Sep 2026 10:22:11
Je suis, what has dozen of trophies as a player got to do with what he did as a manager at Chelsea and spurs?
22 Sep 2026 12:46:48
Je suis at normal clubs players go and managers go but at ours it's only the managers.
22 Sep 2026 19:38:40
So he comes in for 2 years, changes the players to who he wants, he then throws his toys out the pram, leaves and we bring in yet another manager with a different plan and style, and we are left with another different bunch of players who are unwanted and un-sellable?
Yeah. great upper management ?♂️.
21 Sep 2026 07:39:04
{Ed's Note - The_thin_white_duke has posted a new article entitled, Making Wirtz Work in Liverpool's Build-Up
21 Sep 2026 03:49:22
Where's all the players that were pro sacking Amorim and getting some new manager in???
There was one that kept repeating the same statistics..
I hope you are happy with yourselves..
Here's a thought, after we have binned off this current worthless excuse, and we hopefully install someone who knows what they are doing, can you all exercise a degree of patience and just let them sift through the crap that is the man United hierarchy and group of players. Let them have the time to create their own identity, finally flushing the club of over a decade of really poor decisions.
I know this won't happen, but for the love of god, please stop advocating for mediocrity.
21 Sep 2026 06:35:43
The irony of this post is outstanding.
First of all, Amorim sacked himself through his results but ultimately his comments to the press.
Amorim won 15 out of 47 prem games in his time (32% win rate).
Carrick has a win rate of 68% and only has 2 less wins than Amorim in 19 prem league games.
Carrick isn't the answer, you think Amorim deserved patience, but Carrick doesn't? It's an embarrassing fantasy.
How is Amorim getting on at Milan currently? He's a man wedded to his system that doesn't appear to work anywhere except Sporting and wants to rip up squads and be given years to implement success.
I saw someone suggest via AI that Carrick benefited last season from what Amorim had done, that is complete conjecture backed up with zero evidence.
Amorim was a disaster, Carrick is heading in that direction too but not being afforded the patience you're asking from others.
21 Sep 2026 09:11:12
Carrick is well out of his depth he should never have been given the job. didn't they tell ole no to being interim bec he was more inclined to want the job if the team performed well? And they came out "we are doing a proper search of manager" we won't make the same mistakes of hiring an interim based of the results he gets playing 1 game a week
Results might not have been good under Amorim but the standards of running and not walking were there to see, he got rid of bad eggs which carrick has allowed back to walk straight back into the team
Didn't need to take a lot to get results last season we played one game a week sat back deep in 2 banks of 4 and 2 and countered
Struggled against low blocks but we had individual brilliance that scrapped wins
The football was crap then
The football now is even worse, we are worse than when Amorim was manager and the sooner they get rid of carrick the better because he doesn't have a clue,
His starting 11 and subs are poor, ten hag and espically Amorim got blasted on here and in the media for it,
Where's all the media bias for carrick, if this was Amorim the headlines would be all over, and they would be calling for his head.
But I guess he wasn't an ex player and team mate of theirs and because he's not English so carrick can do no wrong
Now all of a sudden it's the players. Funny how it works that.
The board need to take blame also any supposedly big club who thinks building a team in stages each season is going to work needs there heads checking
They have thought "most teams have new managers, new players, are in transition, we can scrape another top 5 and don't need to improve the team.
Ridiculous to only get 3 players in.
And while carrick and those b tech coaches are here it's only going to get worse.
Luckily we don't have to sit through anymore of that crap for 3 weeks.
21 Sep 2026 10:15:00
Trueredman, I have eyes and saw something with Amorim that has been void from this squad for a decade.
He needs patience and backing, we don't have either, so was never going to work.
Carrick needs patience backing and some coaching skills, none of which are going to happen.

Ah, there's that stat again. At least one of you reared your ugly heads to fight the cause again.

Good and fair posts, JBR. I'm sick of the lazy dross being served up on the pitch, and I'm sick of how the club is owned and run. A club that I've supported for 60+ years. I'm sick of the whole damned lot of it!

It's always good to have eyes JBR.

We are not fit, it shows, yesterday's game was of two poor teams producing a display of mistake after mistake.
We do have some decent players but we don't run, we don't compete, we have no intensity and you can see it a mile off.
Teilemans I really thought he would be sooooo much better than I have seen, he's been very poor.
Santos, I don't know, not seen enough of him competitively, to have an opinion as yet.
No one wanting a cut price Rashford is hurting us, as we desperately needed an established striker. Personally I'd play Dorgu before him but I'm just a fan. I think most managers go for experience, especially when the going gets tough.

If Carrick is still here after the break, the suffering will resume. Atrocious start to the season. We were lectured that we had a decent window and that Casemiro will not be missed and that Tielemans and Santos were the answer. Santos is already tearing up the contract i think.
We were told that Hull is a difficult game and we lost, Everton is a difficult place to go, City at home with 10 men is difficult as well, brighton B team at home is trouble and of course Fulham is difficult too. We are also told that there are no easy games in the PL but of course all of United's opponents are given easy games by us.
The first game of the season showed us what wasn't working and yet here we are doing the exact same thing after a month. Believe it or not the players are not interested in playing for Carrick anymore. Sesko is the first to show it openly and if Carrick isn't binned soon more will follow.

This is player power 101.
Let's play a quiz.
Who stamped out player power with immediate affect.
Who provided a vision for where we were trying to get to
Who wasn't backed by the board.
As much as the players were to blame for the approach Amorim was aiming for, or lack of execution, the board were equally to blame for not backing him in the January window.
He can only blame himself for downing tools, but fair play to him.
Carrick faces the same, a board that doesn't back him, and players that can't play his style (not that I know what that is by the way).
The fact that we are having to endure the likes of Shaw, Maguire, Dalot, etc etc again is criminal. Amorim would have binned them off. Sent them to the scrap heaps and moved on. Carrick isn't up to the job of managing them, and should be moved on.
Wilcox and crew are not up to the task, and should also be moved on.
I have visions of the club asking Carrick what he thinks of aforementioned Ayers and he would just be too nice and say he will work with them.
Separately. where is MdL?? Almost a year now.
Is Amad ever coming back?
Any news on JJ.

Is it player power or they just aren't fit enough JBR?

They were deemed fit enough last season, but I am starting to believe that was built up fitness from the Amorim regime, and Carrick just rode that wave of good fortune through to a UCL position.
He has not had a good game (not great, just good), since the Arsenal and city victories, it has been downhill from there.
I think it is a combination of fitness, player power and capabilities of the squad.
