Hi eds I know you will be busy tonight so will keep this short, is Jose the only contender or is there anybody else there considering. I hope its Jose, should of got the job when fergie went imo.

mb78

{Ed025's Note - just jose mb..

1.) 23 May 2016 22:20:12
Cheers ed25 very exciting times ahead.

2.) 24 May 2016 14:57:05
Shame.

While I agree LVG had to go, I still don't agree Mourinho is the man to replace him.

Winning is not enough for Utd, and while the "anti-football" tag was an exageration, and his record with youth isn't ALL bad, I'm a long way from convinced that the football will be any more exciting than it was under LVG, or that players like Rashford, CBJ, TFM etc will make progress under him.

I do believe that he can rein-in his behaviour in front of the media though, which is the third area a lot of people have expressed concern.

It seems certain now that he will be our manager for the next few years, and I hope to be proven wrong about his style of football and youth policy, but I do wish the club would have looked more at other possibilities first.

3.) 24 May 2016 17:30:44
Not sure why we didn't sign up for Pep, but Mourinho is as good as it gets.

4.) 24 May 2016 18:44:37
We didn't sign pep because he's under tested at a club that hasn't got 3/ 4 world class platers in it. Any of us could win the title with Barcelona or bayern in uncompetitive league's.

Just seen a cryptic tweet by greizman something along the lines off tomorrow it will be ok,then few people saying he's coming. Took a look at he's last few tweets and he mentioned martial in 1 and Rooney in another, could it really happen this late

mb78

1.) 31 Aug 2015 21:52:09
On the 18th August he did can't find anything ballague

2.) 31 Aug 2015 22:33:11
Ballague has tweeted (the correct one) saying that no chance of Griezmann and there never was a chance although Griezmanns tweet is intreaguing!

30 Aug 2015 09:27:58
So,linked with Gomes today, could do a lot worse. Going to be an interesting couple of days

mb78

1.) 30 Aug 2015 10:51:17
I still think we might go for berahino

2.) 30 Aug 2015 10:52:05
Also linked with Gomis today.
:-)

3.) 30 Aug 2015 11:30:54
Epic typo. Ladies and Gents, introducing David De Geas replacement.

Mr Heurelho Gomes!

4.) 30 Aug 2015 12:21:16
gomis would be a good target man and just drop rooney of him we also need cover in goal if de gea leaves so hoping for 2 signings before tuesday. i honestly think clubs have targets tied up before transfer deadline day but do it on the day so u get the fans excited

5.) 30 Aug 2015 12:46:02
I would be seriously pi$$ed if we got Both Gomes and Gomis, Gomes is no better than Romero and Gomis is 30yr old (not what we want or need).

6.) 30 Aug 2015 13:33:10
you should chill out and let what be will be.

7.) 30 Aug 2015 13:50:17
FZZ
If I was any more chilled out I'd be ice.
Have a great day dude. :-)

8.) 30 Aug 2015 14:22:15
hehe.
Hopefully after 6pm too ;)

9.) 30 Aug 2015 14:24:05
The striker is Mario Gomes :-)

Hearing rumours around few people in Salford that gundagon is a done deal £35 mill to be announced next week, also sterling to chelsea

mb78

1.) 24 Jun 2015 16:01:53
We'd never pay that much for him. 1 year left etc etc.

2.) 24 Jun 2015 16:35:13
I heard we were close, then Bayern and Barca got involved and Gundagon up his demands, all 3 teams then backed out.

Not sure why Barca were involved considering their ban, but that is what I heard

3.) 24 Jun 2015 16:52:01
£35 million is way off the mark.

4.) 24 Jun 2015 17:11:03
Could that be euros?

5.) 24 Jun 2015 17:21:54
Read something yesterday along lines of Dortmund asked him to sign extension but would still agree to sell him if the right bid came in

6.) 24 Jun 2015 17:33:53
Barca have an embargo and Bayern couldn't pay half the wages we could so I don't see why his demands would go up? "If" we have offered a package, I would be surprised if 99% of the teams in the world could match it.

{Ed001's Note - to be fair, Barca have been trying to tie up some deals to go through in January, to add to the Vidal deal they have already done.}

7.) 24 Jun 2015 19:02:32
Didn't know about Vidal being agreed ed, who needs ed002 eh :-)

{Ed030's Note - Ed001 means Alexix Vidal by the way, I weren't sure if you was being sarcastic. }

8.) 25 Jun 2015 08:36:45
Sarcastic? Me? Never!
Well sometimes maybe, this time I was just being dim, forgot they signed a different Vidal :-)

22 May 2015 14:43:33
Gundagans missus as posted a cryptic clue on net, in the airport Dusseldorf to Manchester sign in departure's

mb78

1.) 22 May 2015 17:03:09
It was an airport sign, it had 2 destinations on it, one was a flight to Dusseldorf the other was a flight to Manchester. She put on it 'guess where I am?', apparently she was actually in Spain at the time and probably getting on the plane to Dusseldorf.

If I was female and a players gf, I'd do it all time for a laugh.

2.) 23 May 2015 04:13:36
is she playing with our emotions ? !

Reports coming out now that the other4 English clubs are pulling out of proposed suoer league. What was the point in announcing we was doing it to backtracking 48 hours later. Oh well at least Ed has gone!

mb78

1.) 20 Apr 2021 23:15:14
Good news but huge damage done. I'm ashamed of this club now. I've always understood that utd is a business, I'm not naive but i just see them differently now and would hate to think that any of my money, as little as it is would end up in any of them directors pockets. It's sad.

2.) 21 Apr 2021 06:25:38
Manchester United might be out of the Super League but the mealy mouthed statement that confirmed it showed no contrition at all. The Glazers might be sorry. sorry that the £500M they were hoping to trouser for the deal has disappeared. has English football ever know a more contemptible bunch?

{Ed001's Note - FSG's statement was pretty similar, all the crap about key stakeholders and not one apology or acknowledgement even of the fans. They are two sets of owners that should be driven out of the game.}

3.) 21 Apr 2021 09:37:47
In total agreement Ed001. nothing to argue about there.

{Ed001's Note - this is the second time, they never learnt between them from Project Bigfoot, so we can't trust them when they say they won't do it again. It is time they went.}

29 Jan 2021 18:21:42
I'm a bit gutted that Jessie as gone. Top player when on form I would find a place in the 18 man squad for him everyday of the week. He's 1 of us, a red through and through. Will always remember the cup final goal and the moonwalk at the Emirates. Hope he gets he's career back on track, can't help feel that Ole as pushed him out.

mb78

1.) 29 Jan 2021 18:46:25
Ole has pushed him out for good.
No disrespect but he played for an year without scoring or assisting, which is poor for an attacking player playing for United.

Good luck to him though as he always put effort on the field.

2.) 29 Jan 2021 18:51:56
For me he's a confidence player, no good playing 1 game then missing 4 or 5. Arm round he's shoulder and show him you belive in him and he will be flying. Moyes is putting a decent team together at West Ham.

3.) 29 Jan 2021 19:27:21
I don't think anybody fussiness Jesse either as a person or as a squad player.
He always tried and worked hard had a purple patch of form around the wc. Scored a couple of important goals in his time.
I don't know the ins and outs no more than anybody but on the face of it like so often it seems a messy and unpleasant end as with rojo romeo Jones pereira and a few before them. It doesn't look good on the club imo.

4.) 29 Jan 2021 19:28:47
He had a great spell when he scored some important goals and got into the England team. Somewhere though it went a bit wrong and his form dropped badly. I don’t see him coming back,

5.) 29 Jan 2021 19:56:54
Didn't like him at all as a player. I thought he was a coward on the pitch. Very rarely showing for the ball but that may have been his lack of intelligence. Scored a few important goals but should never have been near a team with aspirations of getting to the top. He held us back in my opinion, no goals or assists in 18 months for CAM is criminal. The less said about his off field antics the better.

He's good enough to play in the premier league, West Ham might be a perfect fit for him. Wish him all the best.

6.) 29 Jan 2021 20:25:07
I guess we all see different things from different players, but I definitely don't agree with the hiding criticism. For he he was a player who ran his arse off and in all honesty I think you're hard pressed to find an attacking mid in world football who can press as well as him. I actually thought his runs were intelligent and freed up space for other people. I hope he goes on to be a success. Doesn't deserve the abuse he gets.

7.) 29 Jan 2021 22:11:15
Slunky. An intelligent player who makes runs to free up space for other players is the equivalent of a kid dressed as a tree in a school play so the other kids can shine.

Bruno runs around just as much and offers so much more. Every footballer should work hard, it's the minimum expected at the top. It should certainly not be a footballers main attribute.

If Lingard wasn't born under the shadow of Old Trafford he would have been gone years ago. Mediocre footballer.

There's no coincidence that our fortunes changed for the better when Bruno arrived. Because it finally we meant had a proper player playing there.

8.) 29 Jan 2021 22:48:29
have to agree with mumbles. he was going throuhg a bad patch but his main goal was to try and get his brand bigger than beckhams. should of been football first.

9.) 29 Jan 2021 23:15:52
Mumbles. I'm not sure what your analogy is actually trying to prove, but of course I agree Bruno offers far more overall. Also you're trying to reduce my other points with weak analogies and misrepresentation. I'm not saying he "just works hard". I'm saying his runs and his pressing are actually an attribute that he does better at than a lot of players in his position. I mean look at Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool. A lot of those players might not make it in other teams, but the way they press and the players that they have to fit in that system shows the importance of hard work. They are actually special-ists in pressing. Firmino's pressing and physicality was majorly beneficial to Liverpool during their best spells. Likewise Henderson's physicality and work rate are hugely beneficial + many other players. Also you trying to reduce the importance of making good runs is quite frankly laughable. It's how you break down defences, and lack of runs is part of the reason why some strikers at our club struggling at the moment. If you'd played the game you'd understand that teams built with players that work hard and make good runs can rip any team apart. But saying Lingard was a coward on the pitch is grossly inaccurate. I mean even his goal against Leicester was as a direct consequence of his pressing and hard work aha. But yeah I hope that helps you understand my criticism of your original post. Just remember that it's ok to accept that you're wrong. And when you try and respond to this, don't misrepresent my points, nor bring up arguments that I didn't make in the first place. I never mentioned Bruno, you did. All the best darling x.

10.) 30 Jan 2021 00:04:39
Slunky,

For god sake don’t say people are abusing him, you can’t use that word on here.

{Ed047's Note - or play the victim 😢

11.) 30 Jan 2021 01:02:34
Slunky, you said you would be hard pressed to find another attacking mid in the world who can press as well as him. I named Bruno because Bruno can and does press just as good as JlingzTM, but he's actually also decent at the other aspects of playing football.

We've been struggling for years. Lingard couldn't cement a place within Man utd teams that have been poor. These legendary runs the man made and he still couldn't score or assist a goal in 18 months?

You can talk about other teams tactics all you want. I'm aware of how Liverpool and City set themselves up, I watch them win league titles the last few years. And Lingard "the best pressing attacking midfielder in the world" wouldn't get into their 25 man squad.

Iv been wrong countless times posting on this site for over a decade. I'm wrong everyday of my life. But if I was wrong about Jesse Lingard, why is he leaving to join West Ham?

He's an average footballer.

12.) 30 Jan 2021 01:45:03
Ole put a massive amount of trust in him, he played him for far too long to try to play him back into some form. But with no assists and no goals his best trait is running out of the way to make space for others.

His time at utd ended, can't see him coming back.

13.) 30 Jan 2021 12:03:10
I can't believe there is so much debate over Jessie Lingard. An attacking midfielder who can't create, can't score and the best thing that can be said about him is he runs around a bit?

What is there even to talk about?

14.) 30 Jan 2021 16:47:45
I was just pointing out that I disagree with Mumbles that he's a coward on the pitch and an unintelligent player. I never ever said he was better than Bruno, or that he would get in our team, or City's team etc. I just find it unusual that the things that you initially criticised him for are the only things I actually think are good about his game, hence I expressed my opinion. I wholeheartedly agree on your other criticisms of him, I just thought what you were picking on him for was an unfair analysis. Also what's this thing about not saying "abuse"? And Ed047, I don't know if you're implying that I'm playing the victim, but if you are, I'd urge you to re-read mumbles first post, my reply, and then his take on my points. let me know what you think's wrong. Cheers guys.

{Ed047's Note - Slunky not referring to you at all fella 😁👍🏼

15.) 30 Jan 2021 19:31:49
Oh Cheers 047, have a lovely day!

{Ed047's Note - and you mate 😁

26 May 2018 21:42:16
Imagine you're keeper performing like that in a champions league final whoops.

mb78

1.) 26 May 2018 22:01:25
The good thing about Liverpool though is you never walk alone, so all the fans, players and people at the club will rally round and back the lad after her handed the UCL title to Real Madrid. Lol.

2.) 26 May 2018 22:08:56
Shappy 😂😂.

3.) 26 May 2018 22:23:49
The Liverpool players were virtually blanking him. He will wake up with the cold sweats for years to come after that performance.

4.) 26 May 2018 22:28:44
I know! How long did the lad have to wait before anyone came near him after the whistle?

5.) 26 May 2018 22:34:12
Honestly think will ruin he's career that game.

6.) 26 May 2018 22:34:39
Shappy that’s brilliant 😂.

7.) 26 May 2018 22:37:35
If that was ddg in goal - even tho i'd be livid with him, i'd still expect his TEAM mates to console him!

Klopp and his 'lets all hug' approach is as fake as his post match interviews.

8.) 26 May 2018 22:50:46
a few weeks back they were saying he is as good as de gea.

9.) 26 May 2018 23:11:51
😂😂😂😂😂.

10.) 27 May 2018 00:31:11
I watched at the final whistle, the poor lad dropped to his knees and sobbed his heart out. And not a single Liverpool player went to console him. After about 10 minutes the first people to approach him and try and console him was a couple of Real Madrid players. I thought that was a poor show to be honest.

11.) 27 May 2018 07:33:50
Very poor shaps - very poor indeed.

13 Aug 2017 18:46:21
Is it too early to say we are back? That was as good as performance as I can remember for a long time.
We got a proper Jose team now, pace strength, height, desire.
Matic though wow, I knew he was a decent player but he looked like a world beater today, I am very excited for this season is going to bring. Title shootout between yourself and citeh, onwards and upwards.

mb78

06 Jul 2017 10:37:37
So lukaku? Is it true, best I'm my opinion for the way we play, and a Jose sort of striker. Might not be the most skilful but will score loads, buzzing if it happens.

mb78

1.) 06 Jul 2017 10:45:28
I am glad with this signing, won't say the best though but good enough.

2.) 06 Jul 2017 10:57:29
Proven striker in England, will back him for golden boot, could be a ploy though to get Madrid to lower their price. Be interesting to see conte reaction though. Alienating your star striker thinking you was getting Luke's in ha.

3.) 06 Jul 2017 11:03:17
We've been missing that Bullish type striker. He will get loads of service from Pogba - close friends off the field too so he'll integrate quickly.

Great bit of business.

4.) 06 Jul 2017 11:28:45
Get in Sanchez and matic and I'd be very pleased.

I'm going to bite, are you for real, proven premier league goal scorer, up and coming centre back, and probably the best signing of the window in matic who you can already see as improved our play.

How you can justify that post when you still haven't sorted out you defence baffles the he'll out of me.
