Casemiro already continuing his good scoring record in MLS. Unfortunately at the wrong end.

Guess, 4 years looking at the black jersey and yellow stripes, if MUFC jersey is hard to forget and he forgot.

Thinking of where we now stand facing into the season and what our best XI is with everyone fit:
Lammens, Shaw, Licha, De Ligt, Yoro/Maz, Santos, Tielemans, Cunha, Bruno, Mbeumo, Sesko with Mainoo, Mount, Amad, Heaven, Maz/Yoro, Dorgu, Lacey all likely to start a significant number of games and maybe become the regular starter.
Yoro could step up and be a strong option but RB and LB is where I think we're weakest. I do think we need another CM as depending the whole season on Santos seems a lot for a 22 year old.

I also think we lack physicality in the team. We're probably good enough for CL positions again and that'll put us in good stead. I think our negotiating team have done really well considering the constraints of years of mismanagement. But my hope for the rest of this transfer window is that we do business in the fullback positions. I think we can cope without another CM or striker.

02 Aug 2026 14:24:02
I like the Arsenal idea of a CB at RB. Yoro, Shaw, and Maz can do that.

Yoro at RB would be good for his development too.

2

02 Aug 2026 17:08:49
I'm concerned about Yoro at RB. He was skinned alive by Rogers last season, when he was forced to go wide to deal with him in the 3 at the back system. I think he lacks the pace.

02 Aug 2026 20:32:08
Have we sold Dalot?

0

02 Aug 2026 20:53:20
Yes, but he was returned. Faulty, apparently.

1

02 Aug 2026 21:25:11
Dalot is crap. I'm not even counting on him. I deliberately left him out.

1

03 Aug 2026 09:16:43
Dalot is a 6 or 7/10 week in, week out. He needs upgrading, but Utd don't have the funds to do this, unless they sell a few players. Next summer will likely be when a Dalot upgrade is bought, unless a youth player can step up.

0

03 Aug 2026 09:45:36
MH, he's a 4 or 5 each week with occasional 7s and occasional 1s and 2s. He's a catastrophic mistake in every game.

01 Aug 2026 20:23:56
Gutted that Brentford have signed Mamadou Sangare while we continue to play Mount in the centre. He played well today but it's too big a risk to have him as the 4th option for the double pivot. I think Sangare will be an awesome signing and will be the one to watch next season.

3

01 Aug 2026 21:01:51
Mount's ability on the ball and off the ball is not in question. Technically he is a very good player.

Mount's issue is that he gets injured far too often. I hope that this has changed, but I'm just waiting for the day now that he picks up a knock or something, even though it's pre-season.

7

01 Aug 2026 21:40:25
He is a players' player. Great to play with when he is at his best. It's been too long since we have seen it due to his injuries. He needs to nail down a regular starting place in the team. I'm not quite sure where he should be aiming for tbh.

If another midfielder did come in, I think he will struggle to do that.
Bruno won't start energy game, but being his understudy won't get him the minutes he needs to get any rhythm.

2

01 Aug 2026 22:09:11
Carrick hasn't used Mount as 10 at all.
Pre-season. There's a reason why he's doing it.

3

02 Aug 2026 00:34:15
Can anyone name a Premier League game where Mount has played outstandingly well?

He is into his 4th year now at the club, cost £60m, and is one of the highest-paid players at the club.

2

02 Aug 2026 07:05:36
I do not think for one minute that any player, especially Mount, is ecstatic to have been injured as much as they have. Nor did he go out to be injured.

I agree, however, 100%, that he has essentially been a flop of a signing to this point, but we all know there is a fantastic player there.

Let's see how he goes after a good pre-season and remaining injury-free. Then I think he can be fairly judged. If, on the other hand, he lasts 5 minutes, then it's game over for me as well.

4

02 Aug 2026 07:42:44
I think Mount has had a great pre-season and looks to be forming a great partnership with Santos. As others have already said, it comes down to fitness.

4

02 Aug 2026 11:08:56
I know he had started every game deeper, Eric.i. I suggest that he won't start there ahead of Mainoo, Teilemens, and a possible addition.
I think he is starting there as we had nobody else to play in midfield.
I think Mount will find it hard to command a regular starting berth anywhere.

02 Aug 2026 11:26:19
Sangare, I think, will be a very good player who'll end up moving to a bigger club in a couple of years' time. At this moment in time, Brentford might be the best place for him. A good size, well-established EPL club that is settled and well run. It's the ideal place for him to adapt to the EPL with less pressure and expectations, but at a club that won't stop him moving on to a bigger club in a couple of years' time.

I thought he'd be a savvy signing for us as a cheaper alternative to some of the other names. However, he's still very much a developing player, and someone who'll need to play regularly if he is to reach that potential. Would he have got that with us? Given we have both Mainoo and Santos as younger, developing midfielders, do we really want to add a third player in that category, or would it make more sense to sign someone who's 25+ who offers something different to what we have as a more experienced, rotation option who is pretty much at their peak and doesn't require development.

As for Mount, his quality has never been in question, just his fitness. Sometimes players get over their injury issues, and sometimes they don't. Having heard about Giggs and his injury issues in his late 20s, and the changes he made to his lifestyle (yoga) to help him overcome them, acts to highlight that players can get beyond those issues and continue to play well into their late 30s if they are prepared to put in the work.

Likewise, players can do things that hinder their ability to stay fit, such as Bale and his insistence in playing golf despite the evidence suggesting that it was causing him to pick up more injuries.

Sometimes it can be simple changes to your lifestyle, reducing or stopping doing something, or starting to do something else to help.

What I do know, though, is that if Mount can stay fit then he will be a huge asset to us this season.

2

02 Aug 2026 14:25:59
Mount on personality, professionalism, and ability vs his fitness and wages is just about net positive.

But he needs to step up this season, make or break for me. Money needs to be on the pitch.

Ken/Tumbleweed - Just for my information, are you employed by Ineos? Just asking because you seem to take it personally every time anyone calls out or critics the club/Ineos on how they are going on about this transfer window.

Or should we just rename this page as "onlypositivebanter"? Can the people who are not lucky like yourself and do not have the godly positive attitude as yourself, have differing opinions?

6

01 Aug 2026 19:36:16
Of course, UA, you can say what you like, as can I. I'll try to counter any negativity with positives, if there are any. Or, ask where the negativity comes from. Just because you expect something doesn't mean it will happen, and if you want to play reality v a plan in your head, then you will always be disappointed.

In my experience, it's best to see what happens in most situations before commenting too much. Then you will at least have the finished result to debate rather than a hypothesis.

2

01 Aug 2026 21:03:00
I think that it's quite evident that since SJR has come in, there's been a massive change in the structure, a positive change that is. Despite what I think of him as a man and his business ethics, he seems to have made it his aim to bring this club back to its best.

3

02 Aug 2026 07:56:22
United Addict

I can see why you ask that. TW does stand up for the Glazers a bit. Different opinions are allowed and it's a banter site, so those who want to comment on the uninspired window so far or the (conniving leeches) Glazers, either way, should be able to without being ridiculed. Argue a different perspective by all means. That's simple for me.

I think we are clearly more business savvy. The clueless Woodward is no longer creating Disney.

My issue, and the one I keep highlighting, is what appears to be the overall aim being financial rather than football dominance.

I like the purchase of young players recently. As I have said many times, Heaven is a brilliant purchase. I was delighted to see the young lads bought from City and the lad from Spurs.

But we still have to compete this season and still need LB, ST and CM. It looks like we are too worried about cost.

2

02 Aug 2026 09:57:40
Do you keep highlighting it, Red Man? I hadn't noticed. 🙄

02 Aug 2026 10:27:09
Surely any analysis of the transfer window needs to be done when it is closed? So far I'm really happy with the signings, but it's pretty obvious we need 2 or 3 more, and then to supplement the squad with some of the quality kids we have seen through pre-season, and hope they can step up in cup games, etc.

Leave getting your knickers in a twist with a month left in the window to the bots on X.

1

02 Aug 2026 11:12:35
100% agree, GDS2.
Nobody would be happy if the window closes today.
But, guess what, it's not closing today.

I think Ken is the kinda man who likes to take the contrary position sometimes, especially when people are very adamant about something with very little knowledge to make the judgement on.

He's also been in business at a high level for many years, and as such he has a little more understanding than most about how large multinational companies operate. So while not a perfect comparison to our football club, he will have a slightly better idea about how the people running the club will be thinking, and how they will look to operate.

The biggest issue I think is the extremism that modern society seems to demand. Like everything is binary, yes/no, agree/disagree, good/bad, etc., when the reality is that pretty much nothing is binary, with everything often falling somewhere between the two extremes.

The INEOS takeover, for example, some people want to oversimplify it into either they are amazing or they are awful. Maybe that is because it suits their agenda, or maybe they are a little bit simple and they don't understand nuance.

The truth is, as always, somewhere in the middle. INEOS will do some things that really benefit the club and the fanbase, both short and long term.

They will also do some things that work against the club and fanbase.

They've improved the running and structure of the club. We now have subject matter experts working in each area of the club, with clear parameters around their role. This has led to much clearer and more professional running of the club, as seen by the reduction of leaks around the club, as well as the improvements in recruitment.

Is it perfect? No, it probably never will be. They got the appointment of Dan Ashworth wrong, and they were wrong to keep Erik ten Hag in their first season (although the logic behind it made sense). They will make mistakes, but we have to remember not to throw the baby out with the bath water when judging how they are doing, and we also need to give it time and not react in the moment.

While the new stadium and how they manage season tickets is a little more questionable, only time will tell if they are making the right decisions there.

You don't have to be employed by INEOS to be able to see both sides, just someone who can be more impartial in their viewpoint. Someone who can see both the good and the bad, and, more importantly, knows when they cannot make a sound judgement either way.

1

02 Aug 2026 13:19:34
Tumbleweed is literally employed by Sky Sports. He has been one of their most prominent pundits for over a decade. How anyone would think he's employed by Ineos is baffling.

01 Aug 2026 16:39:42
Well, another good performance, this time against Atleti.

Totally deserved victory with some excellent football being played especially first half, this being the most important thing.

Man of the Match for me was Mason Mount, he played the full game alongside Andrey Santos, who again played very well. Mount though was excellent, some of his passing was top notch and even his defensive work was impressive. If only he can stay fit!

A player I really like, and have posted about before, Shea Lacey, also put in a top performance following his Man of the Match show last week against Rosenborg. Most of the time he was playing as a No10. I think Carrick is going to have some decisions to make here, he definitely deserves first team opportunities.

Leny Yoro also continuing to do well at right back and Ayden Heaven looked pretty comfortable.

JJ Gabriel also made his debut with 10 mins left, hopefully the first of many, many times we see him.

As for Atleti, as expected, it was 3 at the back and playing on the break. Even in a friendly their keenness for the dark arts shone through, some of the holding at corners made Arsenal look amateurish. It was just like watching the South Americans at the World Cup again.

To think an esteemed (? ) poster on here has often stated his wish for Simeone to be our Manger. I say No, No and indeed thrice No. There would be real reason to complain if that happened.

6

01 Aug 2026 18:16:55
I think Lacey should be in the squad, he's ready to play. I hope there's a couple of others who can step up this year, too. The club has high hopes for Tyler Fletcher, albeit his brother got more minutes than him last year.

5

01 Aug 2026 19:43:12
I think it's been confirmed both are in the squad for the season, AJH.
Collyer, Gore, Amass, Vietk look to be on their way out with Fredrickson.
Lacey did well today in the friendly. He still looks like he needs to strengthen up, but there's lots of time for that. He showed he can beat his man either outside or cutting in. Good option to have.

1

01 Aug 2026 20:26:06
Lacey did himself no favors last year with that very sophomoric second yellow red card. He looks like a talented player.

2

01 Aug 2026 21:00:06
Toro at right back again. Just saying.

Carrick obviously fancies him there, otherwise why waste a pre-season playing here.

2

01 Aug 2026 21:04:17
I love watching Lacey. Bit of a throwback street baller. Very clever on and off the ball. I'm very excited to see what he can bring to the team this season.

Excuse the overused phrase, but he really looks like a new signing.

3

01 Aug 2026 21:08:51
Lacey is our Foden, but the problem is where does he fit atm. He should be out on loan next season to develop and play week in, and not just cameos from the bench. He's going to be a brilliant player.

Have to say Yoro and Heaven were brilliant today.

2

02 Aug 2026 10:06:06
It has been said before that Carrick played at Middlesborough with one of his full backs being a centre back, allowing the other full back to be more aggressive. It looks like he is trying that with Yoro. He also looks comfortable moving forward with the ball, so could adapt to this role successfully.

It may be a needs basis at the moment, with Maz/Dalot still not back, but I would not be surprised to see it continue.

It will be interesting with Heaven, as I think he should get a lot of minutes this year, just whether he will get those over Martinez.

Lacey should definitely be in the first team this year. He does not appear fazed by anything, and, whilst we need to dampen expectations, having him come on as a sub against tired legs would be scary and offer us a different type of player.

0

01 Aug 2026 16:00:09
Did anyone watch the match today? Good win tbf.

Mount played well in the double pivot, has to be said. Santos looks solid. Thwaites looked good when he came on. Mbuemo was sharp. Lacey, Loro, Maguire, Shaw all played well.

Heaven for me looked a bit inconsistent and error prone, but showed some good stuff too. JJ came on, looked physically, he did look like a child, but held his own and had some good touches.

2

01 Aug 2026 15:51:11
It may be nothing, but I think there may have been some frustration or tension from Mr. Amas towards Gabriel. On more than one occasion, instead of passing the ball to Gabriel, Mr.

Amas chose to play the ball backwards, and Gabriel was moved out to the right. At one point, Mr. Twaites appeared to say something to Mr. Amas, but Mr. Amas seemed to brush him off.

0

01 Aug 2026 17:03:10
Maybe Gabriel referred to him as Hazza or Massy rather than Mr Amass?

3

03 Aug 2026 14:16:37
A typo is easier to argue with than the actual point, I suppose. Shame you couldn't manage the latter.

01 Aug 2026 11:07:29
Three weeks today until it starts and the below is today’s report in the main press. Maybe not attributed to anyone but have to say it is what we are seeing.

“The club are still assessing market movements, checking who is available at the right price, before deciding on their next priority position.”

Looking for bargains. Manchester United.

3

01 Aug 2026 13:12:52
Sadly, the club is being run by idiots. Or that's how they appear. The club shouldn't be looking at who is available at an acceptable price. They should know who they want and go get them.

3

01 Aug 2026 13:36:43
This statement could be attributed to most clubs. Yes, we are looking for value, but will go big if the right player is available.

The club will be working on multiple deals, and we should be pleased with how little is coming out of the club, unlike previous years.

We need to see how the window closes.

3

01 Aug 2026 13:46:56
Fallguy, a lot more idiots in our fanbase than in the boardroom.

8

01 Aug 2026 16:25:44
Tumble, I assume from your reply, you disagree with my post, and you instead refer to me as the idiot. I have never claimed I'm not an idiot. Very good chance I am. But luckily I'm not in charge of United.

But nonetheless, it doesn't change the fact I'm entitled to an opinion on an open fans forum, just as you are.

4

01 Aug 2026 14:48:10
Firstly, it's almost certainly guess work by the media. Unlike when we had Woodward running things, the press seems to get very little from the club now about targets or movements.

We've seen this multiple times recently with them not having a clue what is going on until the players are practically driving to Carrington for the medical, case in point all our signings so far this summer. By the time the media get a whiff of it the deal is practically signed.

So in all likelihood any media report is just guess work and/or click bait.

Secondly, the transfer market is a very fluid and constantly changing market, it is notoriously unstable and reactive. Therefore, the club SHOULD always be open to change and be ready to react if needed. Which means the club should be assessing options and have fluid plans.

We have complained in the past about the club being too rigid and refusing to alter or change plans, to the point of massively over paying for players. A reluctance to walk away from a deal to the point of stupidity.

For the second time in a week it seems I am saying that you can't have your cake and eat it.

We can't complain the club won't walk away from deals when they become too expensive or complicated, then also complain that the club is "assessing market movements" and being adaptive to the market. That would be very hypocritical, and I'd like to think we aren't hypocrites.

Reading between the lines, and what I would hope is happening, I expect the club have a list of potential targets for a range of positions, and depending on how things pan out they will move between potential targets for various positions.

For example, we all agreed before the window opened that we needed to sign 2 or 3 midfielders, that we needed a LB, a LW, a ST, and a CB. We also needed a back up keeper, and possibly an upgrade at RB.

That's potentially 9 players, which we were never going to sign all 9 players, obviously. The question then is which of those positions do we sign players in?

Is it better to sign our 5th choice LB because we are unable to get any of our preferred options, or does it make more sense to instead move on and sign our first choice RB instead? Despite LB being a higher priority. Then reassess the LB market and maybe get a preferred option next summer.

Would that be a bad thing? Would that be poor club management. Sure it's almost the complete opposite to the shambles that came before, but then isn't that a good thing.

It's not even just the case of reacting to the players we fail to sign, but also to the ones we fail to sell.

Whether we like it or not, if the club cannot find a suitable solution to move Rashford on, then signing a LW even a ST becomes less vital this summer as those are positions that Rashford will cover. Which probably explains why we signed a young lad in Thompson who is more for the future, but could potentially play a role this season. It might also explain why we haven't made a move for a back up ST, especially as we haven't found Zirkzee a new club yet.

If both Rashford and Zirkzee stay, along with out current LW/ST options (Dorgu, Cunha, Thompson, Sesko, Mbeumo) then that's 7 potential option for two positions. It no longer makes sense to spend a significant amount of money (30-40) on a back up ST, or invest heavily in another LW option this summer.

That's an example of how a the club will have to react to the market due to us being unable to move a couple of players on.

Likewise, if there is no interest in Mount and he's fit and playing well in a deeper midfield role, then that also reduces our need to spend heavily on a third midfield signing.

It does seem that the club are now pushing more towards a new LB, than a midfielder, LW or ST right now. However, if Rashford and/or Zirkzee leaves then I expect we'll shift our focus to sign another forward.

Similarly if a potential Tchouameni or Baleba deal is going to be too expensive then it's best to park those deals. Maybe explore other options, or focus on other positions and maybe come back to those deals later in the window if the prices become more reasonable.

The whole market seems a little slow right now. The world cup and players being unavailable has slowed the market, along with not many big deals yet having a domino effect and greasing the wheels of the market. I expect we'll see a late flutter of activity in the final couple of weeks of the transfer market after the season starts (for all clubs not just ourselves).

We just need a little patience, let's wait until after the window closes before we judge our transfers.

01 Aug 2026 17:57:47
Fallguy, they are smart people trying to get on with their jobs.
You don't know what their jobs are, or their brief, or their plan, or what's going on at all.
So, in my opinion, it's idiotic to call them idiots just because they are not, or can't, and probably never will do what you want them to.

You've no idea what plan or constraints they're working to.
Try to up your tolerance levels, and hope for the best.

1

01 Aug 2026 20:58:32
The quote (which is by a journalist who has proved he has no idea what our plans are) doesn't say anything about bargains. It says we are looking to buy players at the right place. Or maybe we should buy average players like Antony for £80m again, as that's really worked out well for us in the past.

1

01 Aug 2026 21:11:52
I don't think we're run by idiots, the opposite, actually. We're turning into a well run club who won't be held to ransom. The signings we've made over the last 2 years have proved that.

1

01 Aug 2026 09:51:39
Rashford really gets battered on here. I don't understand the hate he gets at all. Seems like a good lad. I still believe he can give something to the team too so I'm rooting for him.

2

01 Aug 2026 10:49:52
There are 4 main reasons, Banjoe.

1. He said he wants to leave.
2. His commitment and dedication have been lacking, turning up late, going partying.
3. He appeared to not be trying too hard.
4. Most damning, for the last 2 years, he has been pants.

Yeah, seems like a good lad.

8

01 Aug 2026 11:01:27
Good lad? Two better words: "bad egg", and that is what is printable here.

That situation, where he was in N Ireland at a night club, could not make training the next morning, rang in sick, flew back too late, and then totally disrespected the shirt by flouncing around on the field.

All unacceptable.

He must never play in that shirt again. If Carrick allows it, then he is a weak manager.

10

01 Aug 2026 11:07:36
Hate. 😂😂😂 What is it with people and this hate today? It's disgusting and totally inappropriate, imo.
I don't know of anybody that hates Rashford.
I never want him to play for United again for all the reasons above, but I don't hate him.

Dumb expression, and used too often. Not getting at you, Banjoe, lots of people use it.
I hope he is sold or loaned, and if not, left with the reserves. Highly unlikely, but that's my view.

5

01 Aug 2026 11:14:55
He's unprofessional and was part of the creation of a toxic culture at the club. We've turned over a new leaf, and part of that was not indulging individuals in the way Rashford has been for years. If he comes back, it would need to be with the condition that he acknowledges the need to change his approach dramatically.

2

01 Aug 2026 11:26:17
The club will make the correct decision for the club. He's a good player, despite some of the nonsense on here suggesting otherwise. If Carrick thinks he can add something to this squad and team, then that, for me, actually shows far more strength of character than weakness to allow him back, coach him and contribute.

He lost his way, had enough of the basket case this club was under Ten Hag and Amorim, and we have no idea what was said to him during this time.

We're all so quick to judge, and keen to write people off in this world. It's tiresome.

It may be he has backed himself into a corner, and his best option is Utd. Do I think he'll stay? I'm not so sure. His options now feel limited to us, Chelsea, or Spurs. I know, here, I'd rather knuckle down and play.

4

01 Aug 2026 11:31:29
The question I ask myself is, why didn't Barca want him? He had a decent season, but then they decided not to spend £27m for him, opting instead to pay £$70m for Gordon, same position.

Why the extra £43m? Age, maybe: Rashford 28yrs and Gordon 25yrs.

I think it is something more; they have handled him for a whole season, and he did well for them, but they still do not want him at a bargain price!!

1

01 Aug 2026 12:39:10
The club don't want him, but may be forced to keep him if he doesn't get a move he wants. It's a shame the whole situation.

0

01 Aug 2026 13:13:56
Well reading what Redman thinks about him, I would say "hate" is not far off the mark, Tumbleweed.

2

01 Aug 2026 13:21:22
Eric

I'm not quick to judge. I defended him for years, ask United Addict, he and I used to spar regularly about Rashford, and I was always in his corner.

But what I have seen is a nice young man suddenly start being the big I am. The Rolls Royce, the bling, the tatts, the nightclubs. He's free to do all these things, but when there is a lack of professionalism off the pitch, and a lack of effort on the pitch, then it grates.

I don't hate him, I'm just sad and disappointed at how his career and approach has regressed.

He could have been the next captain, he could have been the future, but right now he's struggling to find a top club that wants him.

4

01 Aug 2026 13:26:11
Banjoe

I don't hate Rashford or anyone tbh. Simple, he disrespected the club and must never play for us again. No hate.

4

01 Aug 2026 13:31:08
Banjoe, Redman doesn't even know Rashford, and certainly does not hate him.
Redman, do you hate Marcus
Rashford?

01 Aug 2026 15:05:07
The problem is, he is supposed to be a United fan and is an academy graduate, which means he gets held to a higher standard by the fanbase than players we sign, as he's living our dream.

Is that fair? Absolutely not, but it's the case anyway.

He is someone you would expect to be a leader, certainly an advocate for the club in our dressing room. Yet the stories that leak out seem to suggest something very different.

There was a time that he was a hard working, dedicated player, someone who played with painkilling injections and delayed surgery to help the club. He was also performing well on the pitch, often only second to Bruno for goal contributions each season.

But then something changed with him, and it appears that he stopped playing for his boyhood club and just started clocking in and out of work, giving the bare minimum. He started becoming late, going out partying, and generally going off the rails a little bit.

I'm not sure what happened, but something shattered his idea of what the club is, or how he sees the club.

Rumours are that his personal life went a little awry, that he broke up with his long term girlfriend, who was supposedly a stabilising influence.

Maybe he felt the club owed him more support, maybe he felt let down by the club.

Either way, his performances dropped and his attitude was seemingly affecting others. To the point that the club were prepared to ship him out on loan to Barcelona.

Maybe too many bridges have been burned, maybe too much has passed. But if a solution to leave cannot be found, then he and the club need to find a way to work together. Maybe having a former teammate in Carrick as the manager might be able to get through to him. Maybe his time away from the club has allowed him to reassess his priorities/opinions.

If we can get the 2022/23 version of Marcus Rashford back, 30 goals and 11 assists in all competitions, along with a hard working attitude, then maybe fans will start to soften their view of him.

I hope we see the best of him again, it would be a shame for his story to peter out, and end with him being bundled out the side door. But I'm not sure I have much expectation that he will find his best form for us again.

Hopefully these Igor Thiago rumours are true. He would be a really good signing.

Hopefully not. He's bloody awful.

Watkins for me.

Trumours, are you being serious? Igor Thiago is really good and his style of play would really suit us. He had a poor World Cup, but that doesn't make him a poor player. He was one of the best players in the league last season.

He had a great season last season, but then couldn't keep his spot against Cunha (playing out of position) for Brazil this summer.

Depending on price, he wouldn't be a bad option, but we might also end up paying a premium buying him after a purple patch.

I think there are other options available. Ollie Watkins is probably the best of the bunch, Jean-Phillpe Mateta could also be a good option, or we could go a little left field and sign someone like Matias Fernandez-Pardo from Lille.

An exciting and explosive young 21-year-old who looks equally as good on the left or up top. Sure, he doesn't offer the experience that we might want to supplement Sesko, but his flexibility and longevity might be worth it.

I am serious.

How he got that many peen goals year, I have no idea, but having watched him in full games, he gets a lot of opportunities, but his finishing is poor.

I bet you he won't get 15 this season.
